Topological Complexity of Context-Free omega-Languages: A Survey

We survey recent results on the topological complexity of context-free omega-languages which form the second level of the Chomsky hierarchy of languages of infinite words. In particular, we consider the Borel hierarchy and the Wadge hierarchy of non-deterministic or deterministic context-free omega-languages. We study also decision problems, the links with the notions of ambiguity and of degrees of ambiguity, and the special case of omega-powers.

On the Topological Complexity of omega-Languages of Non-Deterministic Petri Nets

We show that there are $Σ_3^0$-complete languages of infinite words accepted by non-deterministic Petri nets with Büchi acceptance condition, or equivalently by Büchi blind counter automata. This shows that omega-languages accepted by non-deterministic Petri nets are topologically more complex than those accepted by deterministic Petri nets.

Classical and Effective Descriptive Complexities of omega-Powers

We prove that, for each non null countable ordinal alpha, there exist some Sigma^0_alpha-complete omega-powers, and some Pi^0_alpha-complete omega-powers, extending previous works on the topological complexity of omega-powers. We prove effective versions of these results. Inductive Definition and Domain Theoretic Properties of Fully Abstract

A construction of fully abstract typed models for PCF and PCF^+ (i.e., PCF + "parallel conditional function"), respectively, is presented. On Omega Context Free Languages which are Borel Sets of Infinite Rank

This paper is a continuation of the study of topological properties of omega context free languages (omega-CFL). We proved before that the class of omega-CFL exhausts the hierarchy of Borel sets of finite rank, and that there exist some omega-CFL which are analytic but non Borel sets. We prove here that there exist some omega context free languages which are Borel sets of infinite (but not finite) rank, giving additional answer to questions of Lescow and Thomas [Logical Specifications of Infinite Computations, In:"A Decade of Concurrency", Springer LNCS 803 (1994), 583-621].

Topological representation of intuitionistic and distributive abstract logics

We continue work of our earlier paper (Lewitzka and Brunner: Minimally generated abstract logics, Logica Universalis 3(2), 2009), where abstract logics and particularly intuitionistic abstract logics are studied. Logic and Topology for Knowledge, Knowability, and Belief - Extended Abstract

In recent work, Stalnaker proposes a logical framework in which belief is realized as a weakened form of knowledge. Building on Stalnaker's core insights, and using frameworks developed by Bjorndahl and Baltag et al., we employ topological tools to refine and, we argue, improve on this analysis.
