Estimates for parameters and characteristics of the confining SU(3)-gluonic field in charged pions and kaons from leptonic decays and chiral symmetry breaking
The confinement mechanism proposed earlier by the author is employed for to compute the decay constants $f_P$ corresponding to leptonic decays $P\to l^\pm+ν_l$, $l=μ, e$, where $P$ stands for any meson from $π^\pm$, $K^\pm$. For this aim the weak axial form factor of $P$-meson is nonperturbatively calculated. The study entails estimates for parameters of the confining SU(3)-gluonic field in charged pions and kaons. The corresponding estimates of the gluon concentrations, electric and magnetic colour field strengths are also adduced for the mentioned field at the scales of the mesons under consideration. Further the obtained results are applied to the problem of chiral symmetry breaking in quantum chromodynamics (QCD). It is shown that in chirally symmetric world masses of pions and kaons are fully determined by the confining SU(3)-gluonic field among (massless) $u$, $d$ and $s$ quarks and not equal to zero. Accordingly chiral symmetry is sufficiently rough approximate one holding true only when neglecting the mentioned SU(3)-gluonic field between quarks and no additional mechanism of the spontaneous chiral symmetry breaking connected to the so-called Goldstone bosons is required. Finally, a possible relation of the results obtained with a phenomenological string-like picture of confinement is discussed too.
The estimates of parameters for the classical SU(3)-gluonic field responsible for linear confinement are given for pions and kaons. Also estimates for the characteristics of the mentioned field such as gluon concentrations, electric and magnetic colour field strengths are adduced along with those for quark velocities in mesons under discussion. Possible connection of the obtained results with potential approach and string-like picture of confinement is outlined as well.
On the basis of the confinement mechanism earlier proposed by author, the electric form factor of $η$-meson is nonperturbatively calculated. The latter is then applied to describe electromagnetic decay $η\to2γ$ which entails estimates for parameters of the confining SU(3)-gluonic field in $η$-meson. The corresponding estimates of the gluon concentrations, electric and magnetic colour field strengths are also adduced for the mentioned field.
On the basis of the confinement mechanism earlier proposed by author the electric formfactor of $π^0$-meson is nonperturbatively calculated. The latter is then applied to describing electromagnetic decays $π^0\to2γ$ and $π^0\to e^+e^-γ$ which entails estimates for parameters of the confining SU(3)-gluonic field in $π^0$-meson. The corresponding estimates of the gluon concentrations, electric and magnetic colour field strengths are also adduced for the mentioned field.
The confinement mechanism proposed earlier by the author is applied to estimate the possible parameters of the confining SU(3)-gluonic field in an $η^\prime$-meson. For this aim the electric form factor of an $η^\prime$-meson is nonperturbatively computed in an explicit analytic form. The estimates obtained are also consistent with the width of the electromagnetic decay $η^\prime\to2γ$. The corresponding estimates of the gluon concentrations, electric and magnetic colour field strengths are also adduced for the mentioned field at the scales of the meson under consideration.
The confinement mechanism earlier proposed by author is applied to describe the (possible) ground state of toponium $η_t$. For this aim the nonperturbative consistent approach is elaborated in both relativistic and nonrelativistic cases. The study entails estimates for parameters of the confining SU(3)-gluonic field in the above quarkonium, those estimates being also consistent with possible width of decay $η_t\to2γ$. The corresponding estimates of the gluon concentrations, electric and magnetic colour field strengths are also adduced for the mentioned field at the scales of toponium.
The paper is devoted to applying the confinement mechanism proposed earlier by one of the authors to estimate the possible parameters of the confining SU(3)-gluonic field in vector $ϕ$-meson. The estimates obtained are consistent with the leptonic widths of the given meson. The corresponding estimates of the gluon concentrations, electric and magnetic colour field strengths are also adduced for the mentioned field at the scales of the meson under consideration.
First part of the paper is devoted to applying the confinement mechanism proposed earlier by the author to estimate the possible parameters of the confining SU(3)-gluonic field in neutral kaons. The estimates obtained are consistent with the widths of the electromagnetic decays $K^0,\bar{K}^0\to2γ$ too. The corresponding estimates of the gluon concentrations, electric and magnetic colour field strengths are also adduced for the mentioned field at the scales of the mesons under consideration. The second part of the paper takes into account the results obtained previously by the author to estima…
Different hadron transverse momentum spectra are calculated in a non-extensive statistical, quark-coalescence model. For the low-pT part a gluonic string contribution is conjectured, its length distribution and fractality are fitted to RHIC data.
The elastic electromagnetic form factors in the space-like region and valence quark distribution functions for the K+ meson are calculated using the confining Nambu-Jona-Lasinio model with the help of the proper-time regularization scheme, which simulates quark confinement. In this model framework, the dynamics information on the nonperturbative aspects is obtained from quark propagators and bound state amplitudes via Bethe-Salpeter equations. We found that the results on the kaon form factors and valence quark distribution functions are qualitatively in excellent agreement with the existing k…
We study the effect of charged-Higgs-induced chromomagnetic operator, $Q_{8G}(-) \equiv \bar s σ^{μν} T^a γ_5 d G^a_{μν}$, on the Kaon direct CP violation $Re(ε'/ε)$. Using the matrix element $\langle ππ| O_{8G}(-) | K^0 \rangle$ recently obtained by a large $N_c$ dual QCD approach, we find that if the Kobayashi-Maskawa phase is the origin of CP violation, the charged-Higgs-induced gluon penguin dipole operator in the type-III two-Higgs-doublet model can explain the measured $Re(ε'/ε)$ when the constraints from the relevant low energy flavor physics, such as $ΔB(K)=2$, $B\to X_s γ$, and Kaon i…
The Dirac structure of confinement is shown to be of timelike-vector nature in the heavy quark limit of QCD. This stands in contradiction with the phenomenological success of the Dirac scalar confining potential. A resolution is achieved through the demonstration that an effective scalar interaction is dynamically generated by nonperturbative mixing between ordinary and hybrid $Q \bar Q$ states. The resolution depends crucially on the collective nature of the gluonic degrees of freedom. This implies that dynamical gluonic effects are vital when attempting to incorporate fine structure in model…
Inclusive cross section for pion production in proton - proton collisions are calculated based on unintegrated parton distribution functions (uPDFs). In addition to purely gluonic terms the present approach includes also quark degrees of freedom. Phenomenological fragmentation functions from the literature are used. The new mechanisms are responsible for $π^+$ - $π^-$ asymmetry. In contrast to standard collinear approach, application of 2 $\to$ 1 $k_t$ - factorization approach can be extended towards much lower transverse momenta, both at mid and forward rapidity region. The results of the cal…
I discuss the role of the Delta I = 1/2 selection rule in K -> pi pi decays for the theoretical calculations of eps'/eps. Lacking reliable ``first principle'' calculations, phenomenological approaches may help in understanding correlations among different contributions and available experimental data. In particular, in the chiral quark model approach the same dynamics which underlies the Delta I = 1/2 selection rule in kaon decays appears to enhance the K -> pi pi matrix elements of the gluonic penguins, thus driving eps'/eps in the range of the recent experimental measurements.
Propagation of the heavy quark in the field of a static antiquark source is studied in the framework of effective Dirac equation. The model of QCD vacuum is described by bilocal gluonic correlators. In the heavy quark limit the effective interaction is reduced to the potential one with 5/6 Lorentz scalar and 1/6 Lorentz vector linear confinement, while spin-orbit term is in agreement with Eichten-Feinberg-Gromes results. New spin-independent corrections to the leading confining regime are identified, which arise due to the nonlocality of the interaction in time direction and quark Zitterbewegu…
We investigate the relevant gluon-momentum region for confinement in lattice QCD on $16^4$ at $β$=5.7, 5.8 and 6.0, based on the Fourier expansion. We find that the string tension $σ$, i.e., the confining force, is almost unchanged even after removing the high-momentum gluon component above 1.5GeV in the Landau gauge. In fact, the confinement property originates from the low-momentum gluon component below 1.5GeV, which is the upper limit to contribute to $σ$. In the relevant region, smaller gluon momentum component is more important for confinement. Next, we develop a manifestly gauge-covarian…
Charge symmetry breaking (CSB) effects associated with the $u$ and $d$ quark mass difference are investigated in the quark distribution functions and spacelike electromagnetic form factors of the pion and kaon. We use a confining version of the Nambu--Jona-Lasinio model, where CSB effects at the infrared scale associated with the model are driven by the dressed $u$ and $d$ quark mass ratio, which because of dynamical chiral symmetry breaking is much closer to unity than the associated current quark mass ratio. The pion and kaon are given as bound states of a dressed quark and a dressed antiqua…
A unitarized nonrelativistic meson model which is successful for the description of the heavy and light vector and pseudoscalar mesons yields, in its extension to the scalar mesons but for the same model parameters, a complete nonet below 1 GeV. In the unitarization scheme, real and virtual meson-meson decay channels are coupled to the quark-antiquark confinement channels. The flavor-dependent harmonic-oscillator confining potential itself has bound states epsilon(1.3 GeV), S(1.5 GeV), delta(1.3 GeV), kappa(1.4 GeV), similar to the results of other bound-state qqbar models. However, the full c…
The confinement mechanism proposed earlier and then successfully applied to meson spectroscopy by the author is extended over baryons. For this aim the wave functions of baryons are built as tensorial products of those corresponding to the 2-body problem underlying the confinement mechanism of two quarks. This allows one to obtain the Hamiltonian of the quark interactions in a baryon and, accordingly, the possible energy spectrum of the latter. Also one may construct the electric and magnetic form factors of baryon in a natural way which entails the expressions for the root-mean-square radius …
Recent data for highly excited mesons suggest that not only the chiral $SU(2)_L\times SU(2)_R$ symmetry of QCD is restored high in the spectrum but also the $ U(1)_A$ symmetry. This means that it is not a confining interaction in QCD which triggers the spontaneous breaking of chiral symmetry. The restoration of the $U(2)_L\times U(2)_R$ symmetry of the QCD Lagrangian implies the appearance of multiplets of this group high in the hadron spectra. Such type of multiplets is naturally explained within the string picture of confinement. It also supports the scenario that the $U(1)_A$ breaking is re…
