Torus quotients of homogeneous spaces-minimal dimensional Schubert Variety admitting semi-stable points

In this paper, for any simple, simply connected algebraic group $G$ of type $B_n,C_n$ or $D_n$ and for any maximal parabolic subgroup $P$ of $G$, we describe all minimal dimensional Schubert varieties in $G/P$ admitting semistable points for the action of a maximal torus $T$ with respect to an ample line bundle on $G/P$. In this paper, we also describe, for any semi-simple simply connected algebraic group $G$ and for any Borel subgroup $B$ of $G$, all Coxeter elements $τ$ for which the Schubert variety $X(τ)$ admits a semistable point for the action of the torus $T$ with respect to a non-trivial line bundle on $G/B$.

On torus quotients of Schubert varieties in orthogonal Grassmannian-II

Let $G=SO(8n+4,\mathbb{C})$ ($n\ge 1$). Let $B$ be a Borel subgroup of $G$ containing a maximal torus $T$ of $G.$ Let $P (\supset B)$ denote the maximal parabolic subgroup of $G$ corresponding to the simple root $α_{4n+2}$. In this article, we prove projective normality of the GIT quotients of certain Schubert varieties in the orthogonal Grassmannian $G/P$ with respect to the descent of a suitable $T$-linearized very ample line bundle.

Torus quotients of Richardson varieties in the Grassmannian

We study the GIT quotient of the minimal Schubert variety in the Grassmannian admitting semistable points for the action of maximal torus $T$, with respect to the $T$-linearized line bundle ${\cal L}(n ω_r)$ and show that this is smooth when $gcd(r,n)=1$. When $n=7$ and $r=3$ we study the GIT quotients of all Richardson varieties in the minimal Schubert variety. A new linear quotient of C^4 admitting a symplectic resolution

We show that the quotient C^4/G admits a symplectic resolution for G = (Q_8 x D_8)/(Z/2) < Sp(4,C). Here Q_8 is the quaternionic group of order eight and D_8 is the dihedral group of order eight, and G is the quotient of their direct product which identifies the nontrivial central elements -1 of each. Unstable points for torus actions on flag varieties

In this paper, we will look at actions on complex flag varieties $G/P$ of the torus $\hat{T}=\bigcap\limits_{α\inΔ\setminusΔ_P}\ker(α)$, and under reasonable assumptions, we will give a description of the set $X^{us}$ of unstable points for $\hat{T}$-linearized invertible sheaves. Structure algebras, Hopf algebroids and oriented cohomology of a group

We prove that the structure algebra of a Bruhat moment graph of a finite real root system is a Hopf algebroid with respect to the Hecke and the Weyl actions. A Pieri-Chevalley formula for K(G/B)

The ring K(G/B) is isomorphic to a quotient of a Laurent polynomial ring by an ideal generated by certain W-symmetric functions and has a basis given by classes O_w, where O_w is the class of the structure sheaf of the Schubert variety X_w. The K-theory of (compound) Du Val singularities

This thesis gives a complete description of the Grothendieck group and divisor class group for large families of two and three dimensional singularities. Moduli of affine schemes with reductive group action

For a connected reductive group G and a finite-dimensional G-module V, we study the invariant Hilbert scheme that parameterizes closed G-stable subschemes of V affording a fixed, multiplicity-finite representation of G in their coordinate ring. Homogeneous toric varieties

A description of transitive actions of a semisimple algebraic group G on toric varieties is obtained. Every toric variety admitting such an action lies between a product of punctured affine spaces and a product of projective spaces. The result is based on the Cox realization of a toric variety as a quotient space of an open subset of a vector space V by a quasitorus action and on investigation of the G-module structure of V.

We study the existence of symplectic resolutions of quotient singularities V/G where V is a symplectic vector space and G acts symplectically.
