This report summarises studies of associated production of electroweak gauge bosons and jets in proton-proton collisions at LHC with center of mass energy of 8 and 13 TeV. It is based on a selection of results published by the ATLAS Collaboration in the first half of 2017.

Total and differential cross sections of vector bosons produced in association with jets have been studied in pp collisions using CMS data. Understanding the associated production of jets and vector bosons is of paramount importance for the top quark physics, for the Higgs boson and for many new physics searches. In this contribution, recent measurements of W/Z+jets and Z+b-jets processes by the D0 experiment are presented. The measurements are compared to theoretical predictions from next-to-leading order (NLO) perturbative QCD calculations where available, and to several Monte Carlo model predictions.
We present a search for the Standard Model Higgs boson produced in association with a Z or a W boson, using data collected with the CDF II detector at the Tevatron accelerator. A scenario where the Z decays into neutrinos or leptons originating from the W-decay escape detection and the Higgs decays into a $b\overline{b}$ pair is considered. Therefore the expected signature is large missing transverse energy ($\etmiss$), no isolated leptons, and two b-jets. We present preliminary measurements of $Z/γ^*$+jets, $W+c$ and $Z+b+X$ at the Tevatron, and review recent measurements of vector boson plus inclusive and heavy-flavor jets production. All measurements are in agreement with next-to-leading-order QCD calculations within the experimental and theoretical uncertainties. We also point to comparisons of the production rate and kinematics of the data with several Monte Carlo simulation programs of vector boson + jets processes.

The observation of the electroweak production of a Z boson with two jets in pp collisions at $\sqrt{s} = 8$ TeV with the CMS experiment at the CERN LHC is presented, based on a data sample with an integrated luminosity of 19.7 fb$^{-1}$. The cross section measurement, combining the muon and electron channels, is in agreement with the theoretical expectations. We report a study of final states containing a W boson and hadronic jets, produced in proton-proton collisions at a center-of-mass energy of 7 TeV. The data were collected with the ATLAS detector at the CERN LHC and comprise the full 2010 data sample of 36 pb^-1. Measurements of the differential cross sections of Z + jets and $γ$ + jets production, and their ratio, are presented as a function of the boson transverse momentum. Measurements are also presented of the angular distribution between the Z boson and the closest jet. The analysis is based on pp collisions at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 35.9 fb$^{-1}$ recorded by the CMS experiment at the LHC. Recent measurements on the vector boson plus heavy-flavor jets production by the CDF and D0 experiments are presented in comparisons with recent theoretical predictions. Good understanding of such processes is important to improve our understanding of QCD and also to enhance the potential to search for yet-to-be-discovered new physics phenomena which lead to similar final states.
We report on potential for measurement of W and Z boson production accompanied by jets. Of particular interest are jet multiplicity and $P_{\rm T}$ distributions. The 10 to 100 $pb^{-1}$ datasets expected in the startup year of operation of LHC are likely to already provide information beyond the reach of the Tevatron collider both in jet multiplicity and $P_{\rm T}$ range. Recent results from HERA and TevaTron on precision tests of QCD with jets, W and Z bosons and photons associated with jets and heavy flavours are presented. The measurements were used to probe QCD at the highest energies, to provide experimental constraints on SM processes that constitute background to new physics, to extract values of the coupling of the strong interaction and to constrain the proton parton distribution functions. The implications of the results on LHC physics are discussed.
We study the detector performance in the reconstruction of hadronically-decaying W bosons and Higgs bosons at very high energy proton colliders using a full GEANT4 simulation of the SiFCC detector. The W and Higgs bosons carry transverse momentum in the multi-TeV range, which results in collimated decay products that are reconstructed as a single jet. We present a measurement of the energy response and resolution of boosted W-jets and Higgs-jets and show the separation of two sub-jets within the boosted boson jet.
