Homotopy groups of complements and non-isolated singularities

We obtain sufficient conditions for the vanishing of higher homotopy groups of the complements to hypersurfaces in ${\mathbb C}^n$ in terms of the behavior at infinity and relate the monodromy of non isolated singularities to the position of singularities in generic plane sections.

Lojasiewicz exponents and resolution of singularities

We show an effective method to compute the Łojasiewicz exponent of an arbitrary sheaf of ideals of $\OO_X$, where $X$ is a non-singular scheme. This method is based on the algorithm of resolution of singularities.

Quadratic forms and singularities of genus one or two

We study singularities obtained by the contraction of the maximal divisor in compact (non kaehlerian) surfaces which contain global spherical shells. These singularities are of genus 1 or 2, may be Q-Gorenstein, numerically Gorenstein or Gorenstein. A family of polynomials depending on the configuration of the curves computes the discriminant of the quadratic forms of these singularities. We introduce a multiplicative branch topological invariant which determines the twisting of a non-vanishing holomorphic 1-form on the complement of the singular point.

Rational singularities and quotients by holomorphic group actions

We prove that rational and 1-rational singularities of complex spaces are stable under taking quotients by holomorphic actions of reductive and compact Lie groups. This extends a result of Boutot to the analytic category and yields a refinement of his result in the algebraic category. As one of the main technical tools vanishing theorems for cohomology groups with support on fibres of resolutions are proven.

The Łojasiewicz Exponent of Semiquasihomogeneous Singularities

Let $f: (\mathbb{C}^n,0) \rightarrow (\mathbb{C},0)$ be a semiquasihomogeneous function. We give a formula for the local Łojasiewicz exponent $\mathcal{L}_{0}(f)$ of $f$, in terms of weights of $f$. In particular, in the case of a quasihomogeneous isolated singularity $f$, we generalize a formula for $\mathcal{L}_{0}(f)$ of Krasiński, Oleksik and Płoski ([KOP09]) from $3$ to $n$ dimensions. Singularities of metrics on Hodge bundles and their topological invariants

We consider degenerations of complex projective Calabi--Yau varieties and study the singularities of $L^2$, Quillen and BCOV metrics on Hodge and determinant bundles. The dominant and subdominant terms in the expansions of the metrics close to non-smooth fibers are shown to be related to well-known topological invariants of singularities, such as limit Hodge structures, vanishing cycles and log-canonical thresholds. We also describe corresponding invariants for more general degenerating families in the case of the Quillen metric.

An injectivity theorem with multiplier ideal sheaves of singular metrics with transcendental singularities

The purpose of this paper is to establish an injectivity theorem generalized to pseudo-effective line bundles with transcendental (non-algebraic) singular hermitian metrics and multiplier ideal sheaves. As an application, we obtain a Nadel type vanishing theorem. For the proof, we study the asymptotic behavior of the harmonic forms with respect to a family of regularized metrics, and give a method to obtain L2-estimates of solutions of the dbar-equation by using the de Rham-Weil isomorphism between the dbar-cohomology and the check{C}ech cohomology.

Kähler-Einstein metrics with mixed Poincaré and cone singularities along a normal crossing divisor

Let X be a Kähler manifold and D be a R-divisor with simple normal crossing support and coefficients between 1/2 and 1. Assuming that K_X+D is ample, we prove the existence and uniqueness of a negatively curved Kahler-Einstein metric on X\D having mixed Poincaré and cone singularities according to the coefficients of D. As an application we prove a vanishing theorem for certain holomorphic tensor fields attached to the pair (X,D).

On integral conditions for the existence of first integrals analytic saddle singularities

We study one-parameter analytic integrable deformations of the germ of $2\times(n-2)$-type complex saddle singularity given by $d(xy)=0$ at the origin $0 \in \mathbb C^2\times \mathbb C^{n-2}$. Such a deformation writes $ω^t=d(xy) + \sum\limits_{j=1}^\infty t^j ω_j$ where $t\in \mathbb C,0$ is the parameter of the deformation and the coefficients $ω_j$ are holomorphic one-forms in some neighborhood of the origin $0\in \mathbb C^n$. Metrics with cone singularities along normal crossing divisors and holomorphic tensor fields

We prove the existence of non-positively curved Kähler-Einstein metrics with cone singularities along a given simple normal crossing divisor on a compact Kähler manifold, under a technical condition on the cone angles, and we also discuss the case of positively-curved Kähler-Einstein metrics with cone singularities. As an application we extend to this setting classical results of Lichnerowicz and Kobayashi on the parallelism and vanishing of appropriate holomorphic tensor fields.
