The Grothendieck-Serre Conjecture over Semilocal Dedekind Rings

For a reductive group scheme $G$ over a semilocal Dedekind ring $R$ with total ring of fractions $K$, we prove that no nontrivial $G$-torsor trivializes over $K$. This generalizes a result of Nisnevich-Tits, who settled the case when $R$ is local. Their result, in turn, is a special case of a conjecture of Grothendieck-Serre that predicts the same over any regular local ring. With a patching technique and weak approximation in the style of Harder, we reduce to the case when $R$ is a complete discrete valuation ring. Higher Tits indices of algebraic groups

Let G be a semisimple algebraic group over a field k. We introduce the higher Tits indices of G as the set of all Tits indices of G over all field extensions K/k. In the context of quadratic forms this notion coincides with the notion of the higher Witt indices introduced by M. Knebusch and classified by N. Karpenko and A. Vishik. We classify the higher Tits indices for exceptional algebraic groups. Our main tools involve the Chow groups and the Chow motives of projective homogeneous varieties, Steenrod operations, and the notion of the J-invariant of algebraic groups.

Non-Archimedean intersection indices on projective spaces and the Bruhat-Tits building for PGL

Inspired by Manin's approach towards a geometric interpretation of Arakelov theory at infinity, we interpret in this paper non-Archimedean local intersection numbers of linear cycles in $P^{n-1}$ with the combinatorial geometry of the Bruhat-Tits building associated to PGL(n).

The J-invariant and Tits algebras for groups of inner type E6

A connection between the indices of the Tits algebras of a split linear algebraic group G and the degree one parameters of its motivic J-invariant was introduced by Queguiner-Mathieu, Semenov and Zainoulline through use of the second Chern class map in the Riemann-Roch theorem without denominators. In this paper we extend their result to higher Chern class maps and provide applications to groups of inner type E6.

Equivalence motivique des groupes algebriques semisimples

Two semisimple algebraic groups are said to be motivic equivalent if the motives of the associated twisted flag varieties are isomorphic modulo any prime p. The purpose of this note is to construct the combinatorial invariants which characterize motivic equivalence and which are the motivic analogues of the Tits indices which appear in the classification of semisimple algebraic groups.
