英文摘要:
Atomic masses of the neutron-rich isotopes $^{76-80}$Zn, $^{78-83}$Ga, $^{80-85}Ge, $^{81-87}$As and $^{84-89}$Se have been measured with high precision using the Penning trap mass spectrometer JYFLTRAP at the IGISOL facility. The masses of $^{82,83}$Ga, $^{83-85}$Ge, $^{84-87}$As and $^{89}$Se were measured for the first time. These new data represent a major improvement in the knowledge of the masses in this neutron-rich region. Two-neutron separation energies provide evidence for the reduction of the N=50 shell gap energy towards germanium Z=32 and a subsequent increase at gallium (Z=31). The data are compared with a number of theoretical models. An indication of the persistent rigidity of the shell gap towards nickel (Z=28) is obtained.
We present results from recent time-of-flight nuclear mass measurements at the National Superconducting Cyclotron Laboratory at Michigan State University. We report the first mass measurements of 48Ar and 49Ar and find atomic mass excesses of -22.28(31) MeV and -17.8(1.1) MeV, respectively. These masses provide strong evidence for the closed shell nature of neutron number N=28 in argon, which is therefore the lowest even-Z element exhibiting the N=28 closed shell. The resulting trend in binding-energy differences, which probes the strength of the N=28 shell, compares favorably with shellmodel …
The atomic masses of $^{55}$Sc, $^{56,58}$Ti, and $^{56-59}$V have been determined using the high-precision multi-reflection time-of-flight technique. The radioisotopes have been produced at RIKEN's RIBF facility and delivered to the novel designed gas cell and multi-reflection system (ZD MRTOF), which has been recently commissioned downstream of the ZeroDegree spectrometer following the BigRIPS separator. For $^{56,58}$Ti and $^{56-59}$V the mass uncertainties have been reduced down to the order of $10\,\mathrm{keV}$, shedding new light on the $N=34$ shell effect in Ti and V isotopes by the f…
Exotic nuclei are characterized by a number of neutrons (or protons) in excess relative to stable nuclei. Their shell structure, which represents single-particle motion in a nucleus, may vary due to nuclear force and excess neutrons, in a phenomenon called shell evolution. This effect could be counterbalanced by collective modes causing deformations of the nuclear surface. Here, we study the interplay between shell evolution and shape deformation by focusing on the magnetic moment of an isomeric state of the neutron-rich nucleus 75Cu. We measure the magnetic moment using highly spin-controlled…
Particle-$γ$ coincidences from the $^{89}$Y($p,p' γ$)$^{89}$Y and $^{89}$Y($d,p γ$)$^{90}$Y reactions were utilized to obtain $γ$-ray spectra as function of excitation energy. The Oslo method was used to extract the level density from the particle-$γ$ coincidence matrices. The impact of the $N=50$ shell closure on the level densities is discussed within the framework of a combinatorial quasi-particle model.
We report high-precision mass measurements of $^{50-55}$Sc isotopes performed at the LEBIT facility at NSCL and at the TITAN facility at TRIUMF. Our results provide a substantial reduction of their uncertainties and indicate significant deviations, up to 0.7 MeV, from the previously recommended mass values for $^{53-55}$Sc. The results of this work provide an important update to the description of emerging closed-shell phenomena at neutron numbers $N=32$ and $N=34$ above proton-magic $Z=20$. In particular, they finally enable a complete and precise characterization of the trends in ground stat…
Shell evolution is studied in the neutron-rich silicon isotopes 36,38,40 Si using neutron single-particle strengths deduced from one-neutron knockout reactions. Configurations involving neutron excita- tions across the N = 20 and N = 28 shell gaps are quantified experimentally in these rare isotopes. Comparisons with shell model calculations show that the tensor force, understood to drive the col- lective behavior in 42 Si with N = 28, is already important in determining the structure of 40 Si with N = 26. New data relating to cross-shell excitations provide the first quantitative support for …

Shell structure underlying the evolution of quadrupole collectivity in S-38 and S-40 probed by transient-field g-factor measurements on fast radioactive beams
Background: Type II shell evolution has recently been identified as a microscopic cause for nuclear shape coexistence. Purpose: Establish a low-lying rotational band in 96-Zr. Methods: High-resolution inelastic electron scattering and a relative analysis of transition strengths are used. Results: The B(E2; 0_1^+ -> 2_2^+) value is measured and electromagnetic decay strengths of the secdond 2^+ state are deduced. Conclusions: Shape coexistence is established for 96-Zr. Type II shell evolution provides a systematic and quantitative mechanism to understand deformation at low excitation energies.
Magicity, or shell closure, plays an important role in our understanding of complex nuclear phenomena. In this work, we employ one of the state-of-the-art density functional theories, the deformed relativistic Hartree-Bogoliubov theory in continuum (DRHBc) with the density functional PC-PK1, to investigate the evolution of the $N=20,28,50$ shell closures in the $ 20 \leqslant Z \leqslant 30$ region. We show how these three conventional shell closures evolve from the proton drip line to the neutron drip line by studying the charge radii, two-neutron separation energies, two-neutron gaps, quadru…
A thick neutron skin emerges from the first determination of root mean square radii of the proton distributions for $^{17-22}$N from charge changing cross section measurements around 900$A$ MeV at GSI. Neutron halo effects are signaled for $^{22}$N from an increase in the proton and matter radii. The radii suggest an unconventional shell gap at $N$ = 14 arising from the attractive proton-neutron tensor interaction, in good agreement with shell model calculations. $Ab$ $initio$, in-medium similarity re-normalization group, calculations with a state-of-the-art chiral nucleon-nucleon and three-nu…
The atomic nucleus is a quantum many-body system whose constituent nucleons (protons and neutrons) are subject to complex nucleon-nucleon interactions that include spin- and isospin-dependent components. For stable nuclei, already several decades ago, emerging seemingly regular patterns in some observables could be described successfully within a shell-model picture that results in particularly stable nuclei at certain magic fillings of the shells with protons and/or neutrons: N,Z = 8, 20, 28, 50, 82, 126. However, in short-lived, so-called exotic nuclei or rare isotopes, characterized by a la…
We report first precision mass measurements of the $1/2^-$ isomeric and $9/2^+$ ground states of $^{101}$In. The determined isomeric excitation energy continues a smooth trend of odd-$A$ indium isotopes up to the immediate vicinity of $N=50$ magic number. This trend can be confirmed by dedicated shell model calculations only if the neutron configuration mixing is considered. We find that the single particle energies are different for different states of the same isotope. The presented configuration-dependent shell evolution, type II shell evolution, in odd-$A$ nuclei is discussed for the first…
Background: Recent accumulation of experimental data is revealing the nuclear deformation in vicinity of 42Si. This requests systematic theoretical studies to clarify more specific aspects of nuclear deformation and its causes. Purpose: The purpose of this study is to investigate the nature and cause of the nuclear deformations and its relation to the loss of the neutron magic number N = 28 in vicinity of 42Si. Method: The framework of antisymmetrized molecular dynamics with Gogny D1S density functional has been applied. The model assumes no spatial symmetry and can describe triaxial deformati…
The exotic Borromean nucleus $^{20}$Mg with $N$ = 8, located at the proton drip-line provides a unique testing ground for nuclear forces and the evolution of shell structure in the neutron-deficient region. We report on the first observation of proton unbound resonances together with bound states in $^{20}$Mg from the $^{20}$Mg($d$,$d'$) reaction performed at TRIUMF. Phenomenological shell-model calculations offer a reasonable description. However, our experimental results present a challenge for current first-principles nuclear structure approaches and point to the need for improved chiral fo…

The FSU $spsdfp$ cross-shell interaction for the shell model was successfully fitted to a wide range of mostly intruder negative parity states of the $sd$ shell nuclei. This paper reports the application of the FSU interaction to systematically trace out the relative positions of the effective single-particle energies of the $0f_{7/2}$ and $1p_{3/2}$ orbitals, the evolution from normally ordered low-lying states to the "Island of Inversion" (IoI), and the behavior of a wide range of excited states with a $0f_{7/2}$ proton and neutron coupled to maximum spin of $7 \hbar$. Above a proton number …
Background: In neutron-rich nuclei neighboring 42Si, the quenching of the N = 28 shell gap occurs and is expected to induce the shape coexistence in their excitation spectra. Purpose: We show that different nuclear shapes coexist in N = 28 isotones 40Mg, 42Si, and 44S, and investigate observables to probe it. Method: Antisymmetrized molecular dynamics with Gogny D1S density functional is applied to describe the shape coexistence phenomena without ad hoc assumption of the nuclear shape. Results: We find that rigid shapes with different deformations coexist in the ground and the first excited 0+…
We study the fermionic Matsubara Green functions in medium-mass nuclei at finite temperature. The single-fermion Dyson equation with the dynamical kernel of the particle-vibration-coupling (PVC) origin is formulated and solved in the basis of Dirac spinors, which minimize the grand canonical potential with the meson-nucleon covariant energy density functional. The PVC correlations beyond mean field are taken into account in the leading approximation for the energy-dependent self-energy, and the full solution of the finite-temperature Dyson equation is obtained for the fermionic propagators.
