We have searched for third generation leptoquarks (LQ3) using 1.05 inverse femtobarns of data collected with the D0 detector at the Fermilab Tevatron Collider operating at sqrt(s)=1.96 TeV. We set a 95% C.L. lower limit of 210 GeV on the mass of a scalar LQ3 state decaying solely to a b quark and a tau lepton.
We present the results of a search for leptoquark (LQ) pairs in (85.2 +- 3.7) pb^{-1} of p anti-p collider data collected by the D0 experiment at the Fermilab Tevatron. We observe no evidence for leptoquark production and set a limit on sigma(p anti-p -> LQ anti-LQ -> neutrino neutrino + jets) as a function of the mass of the leptoquark (m_{LQ}). Assuming the decay LQ -> neutrino q, we exclude scalar leptoquarks for m_{LQ} < 98 GeV/c^2, and vector leptoquarks for m_{LQ} < 200 GeV/c^2 and coupling which produces the minimum cross section, at a 95% confidence level.
We report on a search for second generation leptoquarks LQ_2 which decay into a muon plus quark in p\bar{p} collisions at a center-of-mass energy of sqrt{s} = 1.96 TeV in the D0 detector using an integrated luminosity of about 300 pb-1. No evidence for a leptoquark signal is observed and an upper bound on the product of the cross section for single leptoquark production times branching fraction beta into a quark and a muon was determined for second generation scalar leptoquarks as a function of the leptoquark mass. This result has been combined with a previously published D0 search for leptoqu…
A search is presented for a singly produced third-generation scalar leptoquark decaying to a $τ$ lepton and a bottom quark. Associated production of a leptoquark and a $τ$ lepton is considered, leading to a final state with a bottom quark and two $τ$ leptons. The search uses proton-proton collision data at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV recorded with the CMS detector, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 35.9 fb$^{-1}$. Upper limits are set at 95% confidence level on the production cross section of the third-generation scalar leptoquarks as a function of their mass. From a compariso…
We report on a search for second generation leptoquarks (LQ) produced in $p\bar{p}$ collisions at sqrt{s} = 1.8 TeV using the D0 detector at Fermilab. Second generation leptoquarks are assumed to be produced in pairs and to decay to either μor νand either a strange or a charm quark (q). Limits are placed on σ(p-pbar -> LQ-LQbar -> μν+ jets) as a function of the mass of the leptoquark. For equal branching ratios to μq and νq, second generation scalar leptoquarks with a mass below 160 GeV/c^2, vector leptoquarks with anomalous minimal vector couplings with a mass below 240 GeV/c^2, and vector le…
We present the preliminary results of a search for leptoquark ($LQ$) pairs using (85.2 $\pm$ 3.7) pb$^{-1}$ of $p{\bar p}$ collider data collected by the DO experiment at the Fermilab Tevatron from 1994-1996. We observe no evidence for leptoquark production and set a limit on $σ(p{\bar p} \to LQ\bar{LQ} \to νν+ jets)$ as a function of the mass of the leptoquark ($M_{LQ}$), assuming BR($LQ \to νq$)=100%. At the 95% confidence level, we exclude scalar leptoquarks for $M_{LQ} < 99 GeV/c^2$, and vector leptoquarks for $M_{LQ} < 178 GeV/c^2$.
We report on a search for the pair production of scalar leptoquarks, $LQ$, using 191 pb$^{-1}$ of proton-antiproton collision data recorded by the CDF experiment during Run II of the Tevatron. The leptoquarks are sought via their decay into a neutrino and quark yielding missing transverse energy and several jets of large transverse energy. No evidence for leptoquark production is observed, and limits are set on $σ(p\bar p\to LQ\bar{LQ} X \to ν\barνq\bar q X)$. Using a next-to-leading order theoretical prediction of the cross section for scalar leptoquark production, we exclude first-generation…
We have searched for the pair production of first generation scalar leptoquarks in the eejj channel using the full data set (123 pb-1) collected with the D0 detector at the Fermilab Tevatron during 1992--1996. We observe no candidates with an expected background of approximately 0.4 events. Comparing the experimental 95% confidence level upper limit to theoretical calculations of the cross section with the assumption of a 100% branching fraction to eq, we set a lower limit on the mass of a first generation scalar leptoquark of 225 GeV/c^2. The results of this analysis rule out the interpretati…
A search for pair production of third-generation scalar leptoquarks decaying to top quark and tau lepton pairs is presented using proton-proton collision data at a center-of-mass energy of sqrt(s) = 8 TeV collected with the CMS detector at the LHC and corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 19.7 inverse femtobarns. The search is performed using events that contain an electron or a muon, a hadronically decaying tau lepton, and two or more jets. The observations are found to be consistent with the standard model predictions. Assuming that all leptoquarks decay to a top quark and a tau lepto…
A search for pair production of scalar leptoquarks, each decaying into either an electron or a muon and a top quark, is presented. This is the first leptoquark search using ATLAS data to investigate top-philic cross-generational couplings that could provide explanations for recently observed anomalies in $B$ meson decays. This analysis targets high leptoquark masses which cause the decay products of each resultant top quark to be contained within a single high-$p_{\mathrm{T}}$ large-radius jet. The full Run 2 dataset is exploited, consisting of 139 fb$^{-1}$ of data collected from proton-proto…
A search for new particles has been conducted using events with two high transverse momentum (pt) tau leptons that decay hadronically, at least two high-pt jets, and missing transverse energy from the tau lepton decays. The analysis is performed using data from proton-proton collisions, collected by the CMS experiment in 2015 at sqrt(s) = 13 TeV, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 2.1 inverse femtobarns. The results are interpreted in two physics models. The first model involves heavy right-handed neutrinos, N[l] (l = e, mu, tau), and right-handed charged bosons, W[R], arising in a l…

Scalar leptoquarks pair-produced in $pp$ collisions at $\sqrt{s}=13$ TeV at the Large Hadron Collider are considered using an integrated luminosity of 139 fb$^{-1}$, corresponding to the full Run 2 dataset. They are searched for in events with two electrons or two muons and two or more jets, including jets identified as arising from the fragmentation of $c$- or $b$-quarks. The observed yield in each channel is consistent with the Standard Model background expectation. Leptoquark…

A search for pair production of third-generation scalar leptoquarks decaying into a top quark and a $τ$-lepton is presented. The search is based on a dataset of $pp$ collisions at $\sqrt{s}=13$ TeV recorded with the ATLAS detector during Run 2 of the Large Hadron Collider, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 139 fb$^{-1}$. Events are selected if they have one light lepton (electron or muon) and at least one hadronically decaying $τ$-lepton, or at least two light leptons. In addition, two or more jets, at least one of which must be identified as containing $b$-hadrons, are required. Si…
A search for pair production of heavy scalar leptoquarks (LQs), each decaying into a top quark and a $τ$ lepton, is presented. The search considers final states with an electron or a muon, one or two $τ$ leptons that decayed to hadrons, and additional jets. The data were collected in 2016 in proton-proton collisions at $\sqrt{s}=$ 13 TeV with the CMS detector at the LHC, and correspond to an integrated luminosity of 35.9 fb$^{-1}$. No evidence for pair production of LQs is found. Assuming a branching fraction of unity for the decay LQ$ \to $t$τ$, upper limits on the production cross section ar…
The results of a previous search by the CMS Collaboration for squarks and gluinos are reinterpreted to constrain models of leptoquark (LQ) production. The search considers jets in association with a transverse momentum imbalance, using the $M_\mathrm{T2}$ variable. The analysis uses proton-proton collision data at $\sqrt{s}=$ 13 TeV, recorded with the CMS detector at the LHC in 2016 and corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 35.9 fb$^{-1}$. Leptoquark pair production is considered with LQ decays to a neutrino and a top, bottom, or light quark. This reinterpretation considers higher mass …
Leptoquarks are ubiquitous in several extensions of the Standard Model and seem to be able to accommodate the universality-violation-driven $B$-meson-decay anomalies and the $(g-2)_μ$ discrepancy interpreted as deviations from the Standard Model predictions. In addition, the search for lepton-flavour violation in the charged sector is, at present, a major research program that could also be facilitated by the dynamics generated by leptoquarks. In this article, we consider a rather wide framework of both scalar and vector leptoquarks as the generators of lepton-flavour violation in processes in…
Results are presented from a search for the pair production of third-generation scalar and vector leptoquarks, as well as for top squarks in R-parity-violating supersymmetric models. In either scenario, the new, heavy particle decays into a tau lepton and a b quark. The search is based on a data sample of pp collisions at sqrt(s) = 7 TeV, which is collected by the CMS detector at the LHC and corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 4.8 inverse femtobarns. The number of observed events is found to be in agreement with the standard model prediction, and exclusion limits on mass parameters are …

The number of observed events is found to be in agreement with the expected standard model background. Third-generation scalar leptoquarks with masses below 740 GeV are excluded at 95% confidence level, as…

A search for new phenomena in final states with hadronically decaying tau leptons, $b$-jets, and missing transverse momentum is presented. The analyzed dataset comprises $pp$~collision data at a center-of-mass energy of $\sqrt s = 13$ TeV with an integrated luminosity of 139/fb, delivered by the Large Hadron Collider and recorded with the ATLAS detector from 2015 to 2018. The observed data are compatible with the expected Standard Model background. The results are interpreted in simplified models for two different scenarios. The first model is based on supersymmetry and considers pair producti…
We report on a search for charge-1/3 third-generation leptoquarks (LQ) produced in ppbar collisions at sqrt(s)=1.96 TeV using the D0 detector at Fermilab. Third generation leptoquarks are assumed to be produced in pairs and to decay to a tau neutrino and a b quark with branching fraction B. We place upper limits on sigma(ppbar->LQLQbar)*B^2 as a function of the leptoquark mass M_{LQ}. Assuming B=1, we exclude at the 95% confidence level third-generation scalar leptoquarks with M_{LQ} < 229 GeV.
A search for second and third generation scalar and vector leptoquarks produced in ep collisions via the lepton flavour violating processes ep -> mu X and ep -> tau X is performed by the H1 experiment at HERA. The full H1 ep data sample taken at a centre-of-mass energy of 319 GeV is used for the analysis. No evidence for the production of such leptoquarks is observed in the H1 data. Leptoquarks produced in ep collisions with a coupling strength of 0.3 and decaying with the same coupling strength to a muon-quark pair or a tau-quark pair are excluded at 95% confidence level up to leptoquark mass…
A search for leptoquarks has been performed in 310 pb-1 of data from ppbar collisions at a center-of-mass energy of 1.96 TeV, collected by the D0 detector at the Fermilab Tevatron Collider. The topology analyzed consists of acoplanar jets with missing transverse energy. The data show good agreement with standard model expectations, and a lower mass limit of 136 GeV has been set at the 95% C.L. for a scalar leptoquark decaying exclusively into a quark and a neutrino.

The full data sample taken at a centre-of-mass energy sqrt{s} = 319 GeV is used for the analysis, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 245 pb^-1 of e^+ p and 166 pb^-1 of e^- p collision data. No evidence for the production of such leptoquarks is observed in the H1 data. Leptoquarks produced in e^+- p collisions with a coupling strength of lambda=0.3 and decaying with the same co…
Motivated by the disagreement between experimental and lattice QCD results on the D_s decay constant we systematically reinvestigate role of leptoquarks in charm meson decays. We consider scalar leptoquarks that transform as a weak interaction triplet, doublet, or singlet in a model independent approach, and also argue that in a particular SU(5) GUT model these leptoquark states, contained in the 45-dimensional Higgs representation, could be safe against proton decay bounds. Using the current experimental measurements in tau, kaon and charm sectors, we find that scalar leptoquarks cannot natur…
We report on a search for charge 1/3 third generation leptoquarks (LQ) produced in pbarp collisions at sqrt(s) = 1.8 TeV using the D0 detector at Fermilab. Third generation leptoquarks are assumed to be produced in pairs and to decay to a tau neutrino and a b quark with branching fraction B. We place upper limits on sigma(pbarp to LQbarLQ)xB^2 as a function of the leptoquark mass M_LQ. Assuming B =1, we exclude at the 95% confidence level third generation scalar leptoquarks with M_LQ<94 GeV/c^2, and third generation vector leptoquarks with M_LQ<216 GeV/c^2 (M_LQ<148 GeV/c^2) assuming Yang-Mill…
We describe a search for a third generation vector leptoquark (VLQ3) that decays to a b quark and tau lepton using the CDF II detector and 322 pb^(-1) of integrated luminosity from the Fermilab Tevatron. Vector leptoquarks have been proposed in many extensions of the standard model (SM). Observing a number of events in agreement with SM expectations, assuming Yang-Mills (minimal) couplings, we obtain the most stringent upper limit on the VLQ3 pair production cross section of 344 fb (493 fb) and lower limit on the VLQ3 mass of 317 GeV/c^2 (251 GeV/c^2) at 95% C.L.
A search for pair production of first and second generation leptoquarks is performed in final states containing either two charged leptons and two jets, or one charged lepton, one neutrino and two jets, using proton-proton collision data at sqrt(s) = 8 TeV. The data, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 19.7 inverse femtobarns were recorded with the CMS detector at the LHC. First-generation scalar leptoquarks with masses less than 1010 (850) GeV are excluded for beta = 1.0 (0.5), where beta is the branching fraction of a leptoquark decaying to a charged lepton and a quark. Similarly, s…
A search for pair-produced third generation scalar leptoquarks is presented, using proton-proton collisions at sqrt(s)= 7 TeV at the LHC. The data were recorded with the ATLAS detector and correspond to an integrated luminosity of 4.7 fb-1. Each leptoquark is assumed to decay to a tau lepton and a b-quark with a branching fraction equal to 100%. No statistically significant excess above the Standard Model expectation is observed. Third generation leptoquarks are therefore excluded at 95% confidence level for masses less than 534 GeV.

No statistically significant excess above the Standard Model expectation is observed; 95% credibility upper limits are set on the cross section times branching fraction of Z' resonances decaying into tau+tau- pairs as a function of the resonance mass. As a result, Z' bosons of the Sequential Standard M…

We report the results of a search for pair production of scalar bottom quarks (sbottom) and scalar third-generation leptoquarks in 5.2 fb-1 of ppbar collisions at the D0 experiment of the Fermilab Tevatron Collider. Scalar bottom quarks are assumed to decay to a neutralino and a $b$ quark, and we set 95% C.L. lower limits on their production in the (m_sbottom, m_neutralino) mass plane such as m_sbottom>247 GeV for m_neutralino=0 and m_neutralino>110 GeV for 160<m_sbottom<200 GeV. The leptoquarks are assumed to decay to a tau neutrino and a $b$ quark, and we set a 95% C.L. lower limit of 247 Ge…
The presence of tau leptons in the final state is an important signature in many Higgs boson and SUSY searches. With the ATLAS detector, hadronically decaying tau leptons can be reconstructed in a wide range of transverse energies. The reconstruction algorithm for hadronically decaying tau leptons is explained and the performance of tau lepton identification is shown. Particularly important is the discrimination of hadronically decaying tau leptons against overwhelming backgrounds from QCD jets.
We report results from a search for neutral Higgs bosons decaying to tau pairs produced in association with a b-quark in 1.2/fb of data taken from June 2006 to August 2007 with the D0 detector at Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory. The final state includes a muon, hadronically decaying tau and jet identified as coming from a $b$-quark. We set cross section times branching ratio limits on production of such neutral Higgs bosons in the mass range from 90 GeV/c^2 to 160 GeV/c^2. Exclusion limits are set at the 95% Confidence Level for several supersymmetric scenarios.
The e^+ jet invariant mass spectrum produced in the reaction e^+ p -> e^+ X has been studied at a center-of-mass energy of 300 GeV. The data were collected using the ZEUS detector operating at the HERA collider, and correspond to an integrated luminosity of 47.7 pb^{-1}. The observed mass spectrum is in good agreement with Standard Model expectations up to an e^+ jet mass of 210 GeV. Above this mass, some excess is seen. The angular distribution of these events is typical of high-Q^2 neutral current events and does not give convincing evidence for the presence of a narrow scalar or vector stat…
We present a search for the production of neutral Higgs bosons phi decaying into tau+tau- final states in ppbar collisions at a center-of-mass energy of 1.96 TeV. The data, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of approximately 1 fb-1, were collected by the D0 experiment at the Fermilab Tevatron Collider. Limits on the production cross section times branching ratio are set. The results are interpreted in the minimal supersymmetric standard model yielding limits that are the most stringent to date at hadron colliders.
We present a search for neutral supersymmetric Higgs bosons decaying to tau pairs produced in p-pbar collisions at sqrt(s) = 1.96 TeV. The data, corresponding to 310 pb^(-1) integrated luminosity, were collected with the CDF II detector at the Tevatron collider at Fermilab. No significant excess above the standard model backgrounds is observed. We set exclusion limits on the production cross section times branching fraction to tau pairs for Higgs masses in the range from 90 to 250 GeV/c^2.
A search for a standard model Higgs boson decaying into a pair of tau leptons is performed using events recorded by the CMS experiment at the LHC in 2011 and 2012. The dataset corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 4.9 inverse femtobarns at a centre-of-mass energy of 7 TeV and 19.7 inverse femtobarns at 8 TeV. Each tau lepton decays hadronically or leptonically to an electron or a muon, leading to six different final states for the tau-lepton pair, all considered in this analysis. An excess of events is observed over the expected background contributions, with a local significance larger t…
Searches for pair-produced scalar leptoquarks are performed using 20 fb$^{-1}$ of proton-proton collision data provided by the LHC and recorded by the ATLAS detector at $\sqrt{s}=8$ TeV. Events with two electrons (muons) and two or more jets in the final state are used to search for first (second)-generation leptoquarks. The results from two previously published ATLAS analyses are interpreted in terms of third-generation leptoquarks decaying to $bν_τ\bar{b}\bar{ν_τ}$ and $tν_τ\bar{t}\bar{ν_τ}$ final states. No statistically significant excess above the Standard Model expectation is observed in…
This letter presents the results of a search for a heavy particle decaying into an e mu, e tau, or mu tau final state in pp collisions at sqrt(s) = 7 TeV. The data were recorded with the ATLAS detector at the LHC during 2011 and correspond to an integrated luminosity of 4.6/fb. No significant excess above the Standard Model expectation is observed, and exclusions at 95% confidence level are placed on the cross section times branching ratio for the production of an R-parity-violating supersymmetric tau sneutrino. These results considerably extend constraints from Tevatron experiments.
Hadronically decaying tau leptons are of prime importance in numerous physics analyses in ATLAS. The spectrum of the possible applications of hadronically decaying tau leptons reaches from Standard Model measurements, including Higgs searches, to searches for physics beyond the Standard Model. The basic principles behind the sophisticated tau reconstruction and identification techniques, which are specifically designed to identify hadronically decaying taus and reject various background processes, are delineated here along with current data-driven estimates of their respective performance.
The discovery potential of the ATLAS detector for scalar leptoquark pair production at the LHC is discussed in this paper. The study is performed using a parameterized yet realistic simulation of the ATLAS detector response for the signal and the background. The channel LQLQ->(lq)(lq),where l=e,mu, is investigated for the first two generations and the decay mode LQLQ->(nu_tau b)(nu_tau b) for the third one. In both cases, a preliminary mass reach is found to be ~1.3 TeV for three years of LHC running at low luminosity.
A search for neutral MSSM Higgs bosons in pp collisions at the LHC at a center-of-mass energy of 7 TeV is presented. The results are based on a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 36 inverse picobarns recorded by the CMS experiment. The search uses decays of the Higgs bosons to tau pairs. No excess is observed in the tau-pair invariant-mass spectrum. The resulting upper limits on the Higgs boson production cross section times branching fraction to tau pairs, as a function of the pseudoscalar Higgs boson mass, yield stringent new bounds in the MSSM parameter space.

After signal selection, 276 events are observed in this data sample. The observed number of events is consistent with the total expected background of 269 +/- 36 events. Exclusion limits at the 95% confidence level are derived for the production cross section of a generic Higgs boson phi as a function of the Higgs boson…
We present the results of a search for pair production of scalar bottom quarks ($\tilde b_1$) and scalar third-generation leptoquarks ($LQ_3$) in a data sample of 5.2 $fb^{-1}$ collected by the D0 experiment at the Tevatron, the $p\bar{p}$ collider at Fermilab. We assume that sbottoms decay to a neutralino ($\tilde χ^0_1$) and a b quark, and we set 95% C.L. lower limits on their production in the ($m_{\tilde b_1}$, $m_{\tilde χ^0_1}$) mass plane such that $m_{\tilde b_1} > 247$ GeV for $m_{\tilde χ^0_1} = 0$ and $m_{\tilde χ^0_1} > 110$ GeV for $160 < m_{\tilde b_1} < 200$ GeV. The leptoquarks…
A search for the production of neutral Higgs bosons Phi decaying into tau^+tau^- final states in p-pbar collisions at a center-of-mass energy of 1.96 TeV is presented. The data, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of up to 348 pb^-1, were collected by the D0 experiment at the Fermilab Tevatron Collider. Since no excess compared to the expectation from standard model processes is found, limits on the production cross section times branching ratio are set. The results are combined with those obtained from the D0 search for Phi b(b) to b-bbar-b(bbar) and are interpreted in the minimal super…
We perform a model independent analysis so as to constrain the leptoquark (LQ) models from negative searches for $μ\to e γ$, $μ\to 3e$ decays (and analogous processes in the $τ$ sector), and coherent $μ-e$ conversion in nuclei. We considerably improve some constraints obtained by analyses known in the literature, analyses which we show have by far underestimated the LQ contributions to the $μ\to 3e$. In particular we find that the coherent $μ-e$ conversion in nuclei mediated by the photon--conversion mechanism and the $μ\to 3e$ decay are golden plates where the flavor changing leptoquark coupl…

A scenario where the new particles are pair produced and each decays to a b quark plus a tau neutrino or neutralino is considered. The number of observed events is found to be in agreement with the standard model prediction. Upper limits are set at 95% confidence level on the production cross sections. In this article we investigate the correlations between tauonic $B$ meson decays (e.g. $B\to τν$, $B\to D^{(*)}τν$, $B\to πτν$) and electric dipole moments (EDMs), in particular the one of the neutron, in the context of the $S_1$ scalar leptoquark (LQ). This LQ naturally arises in the R-parity violating MSSM as the right-handed down-squark. We perform the matching of this model on the effective field theory taking into account the leading renormalization group effect for the relevant observables. We find that one can explain the hints for new physics in $b\to cτν$ transitions without violating…
A search for the pair production of first-generation scalar leptoquarks is performed using proton-proton collision data recorded at 13 TeV center-of-mass energy with the CMS detector at the LHC. The data correspond to an integrated luminosity of 35.9 fb$^{-1}$. The leptoquarks are assumed to decay to a quark, and either an electron or a neutrino with branching fractions $β$ and 1$-β$, respectively. The search targets the decay final states comprising two electrons, or one electron and large missing transverse momentum, along with two quarks that are detected as hadronic jets. First-generation …
This paper describes the trigger and offline reconstruction, identification and energy calibration algorithms for hadronic decays of tau leptons employed for the data collected from $pp$ collisions in 2012 with the ATLAS detector at the LHC center-of-mass energy $\sqrt{\mathrm{s}} = 8$ TeV. The performance of these algorithms is measured in most cases with $Z$ decays to tau leptons using the full 2012 dataset, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 20.3 fb$^{-1}$. An uncertainty on the offline reconstructed tau energy scale of $2-4$%, depending on transverse energy and pseudorapidity, is…
We search for pair production of supersymmetric top quarks (~t_1), followed by R-parity violating decay ~t_1 -> tau b with a branching ratio beta, using 322 pb^-1 of ppbar collisions at sqrt{s}=1.96 TeV collected by the CDF II detector at Fermilab. Two candidate events pass our final selection criteria, consistent with the standard model expectation. We set upper limits on the cross section sigma(~t_1 ~tbar_1)*beta^2 as a function of the stop mass m(~t_1). Assuming beta=1, we set a 95% confidence level limit m(~t_1)>153 GeV/c^2. The limits are also applicable to the case of a third generation …
We report results from a search for neutral Higgs bosons produced in association with b quarks using data recorded by the D0 experiment at the Fermilab Tevatron Collider and corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 7.3 fb-1. This production mode can be enhanced in several extensions of the standard model (SM) such as in its minimal supersymmetric extension (MSSM) at high tanBeta. We search for Higgs bosons decaying to tau pairs with one tau decaying to a muon and neutrinos and the other to hadrons. The data are found to be consistent with SM expectations, and we set upper limits on the cro…

The number of observed events is in agreement with the standard model prediction. An upper limit on the product of the resonance cross section and branching fraction into tau-lepton pairs is calculated as a function of the resonance mass. Using the sequential standard model resonance Z'(SSM) and the superstring-inspired E(6) model with …
