Yamabe flow, conformal gravity and spacetime foam

It is shown that 3D part of a spherically symmetric solution in conformal Weyl gravity interacting with Maxwell electrodynamics is a Yamabe flow as well. The Yamabe flow describes the transition from a horn of an initial wormhole to a 3D Euclidean space both filled with a radial electric field. It is supposed that such transition may describe appearing/disappearing quantum wormholes in a spacetime foam.

Conformal hypersurface geometry via a boundary Loewner-Nirenberg-Yamabe problem

We develop a new approach to the conformal geometry of embedded hypersurfaces by treating them as conformal infinities of conformally compact manifolds. This involves the Loewner--Nirenberg-type problem of finding on the interior a metric that is both conformally compact and of constant scalar curvature. Our first result is an asymptotic solution to all orders. This involves log terms. An Alternative Between Non-unique and Negative Yamabe Solutions to the Conformal Formulation of the Einstein Constraint Equations

The conformal method has been effective for parametrizing solutions to the Einstein constraint equations on closed 3-manifolds. Near-Constant Mean Curvature Solutions of the Einstein Constraint Equations with Non-Negative Yamabe Metrics

We show that sets of conformal data on closed manifolds with the metric in the positive or zero Yamabe class, and with the gradient of the mean curvature function sufficiently small, are mapped to solutions of the Einstein constraint equations. This result extends previous work which required the conformal metric to be in the negative Yamabe class, and required the mean curvature function to be nonzero.

The constraint equations of Lovelock gravity theories: a new $σ_k$-Yamabe problem

This paper is devoted to the study of the constraint equations of the Lovelock gravity theories. In the case of an empty, compact, conformally flat, time-symmetric, and space-like manifold, we show that the Hamiltonian constraint equation becomes a generalisation of the $σ_k$-Yamabe problem.
