We study the one dimensional Ising model with ferromagnetic, long range interaction which decays as |i-j|^{-2+a}, 1/2< a<1, in the presence of an external random filed. we assume that the random field is given by a collection of independent identically distributed random variables, subgaussian with mean zero. We show that for temperature and strength of the randomness (variance) small enough with P=1 with respect to the distribution of the random fields there are at least two distinct extremal Gibbs measures.
We make a few elementary observations that relate directly the items mentioned in the title. In particular, we note that when one superimposes the random current model related to the Ising model with an independent Bernoulli percolation model with well-chosen weights, one obtains exactly the FK-percolation (or random cluster model) associated with the Ising model. We also point out that this relation can be interpreted via loop-soups, combining the description of the sign of a Gaussian Free Field on a discrete graph knowing its square (and the relation of this question with the FK-Ising model)…
We present a criterion for a family of random distributions to be tight in local Hölder and Besov spaces of possibly negative regularity. We then apply this criterion to the magnetization field of the two-dimensional Ising model at criticality, answering a question of Camia, Garban and Newman.
In [17], the authors have defined an annealed Ising model on random graphs and proved limit theorems for the magnetization of this model on some random graphs including random 2-regular graphs. Then in [11], we generalized their results to the class of all random regular graphs. In this paper, we study the critical behavior of this model. In particular, we determine the critical exponents and prove a non standard limit theorem that the magnetization scaled by n 3/4 converges to a specific random variable, with n the number of vertices of random regular graphs.
We analyze Ising/Curie-Weiss models on the (directed) Erdős-Rényi random graph on $N$ vertices in which every edge is present with probability $p$. These models were introduced by Bovier and Gayrard [J. Stat. Phys., 1993]. We prove a quenched Central Limit Theorem for the magnetization in the high-temperature regime $β<1$ when $p=p(N)$ satisfies $p^3N^2\to +\infty$.
We study random field Ising model on $\mathbb Z^2$ where the external field is given by i.i.d.\ Gaussian variables with mean zero and positive variance. We show that at zero temperature the effect of boundary conditions on the magnetization in a finite box decays exponentially in the distance to the boundary.

We continue our analysis of Ising models on the (directed) Erdős-Rényi random graph $G(N,p)$. We prove a quenched Central Limit Theorem for the magnetization and describe the fluctuations of the log-partition function. In the current note we consider the low temperature regime $β>1$ and the case when an external magnetic field is present. In both cases, we assume that $p=p(N)$ satisfies $p^3N \to \infty$.
A sharp-threshold theorem is proved for box-crossing probabilities on the square lattice. The models in question are the random-cluster model near the self-dual point $p_{\mathrm {sd}}(q)=\sqrt{q}/(1+\sqrt{q})$, the Ising model with external field, and the colored random-cluster model. The principal technique is an extension of the influence theorem for monotonic probability measures applied to increasing events with no assumption of symmetry.
We show that the mixing time of Glauber (single edge update) dynamics for the random cluster model at $q=2$ is bounded by a polynomial in the size of the underlying graph. As a consequence, the Swendsen-Wang algorithm for the ferromagnetic Ising model at any temperature has the same polynomial mixing time bound.
In this paper we construct the two-dimensional continuum random field Ising model via scaling limits of a random field perturbation of the critical two-dimensional Ising model with diminishing disorder strength. Furthermore, we show that almost surely with respect to the continuum random field given by a white noise, the law of the magnetisation field is singular with respect to that of the two-dimensional continuum pure Ising model constructed by Camia, Garban and Newman.
We prove a large deviations principle for the total spin and the number of edges under the annealed Ising measure on generalized random graphs. We also give detailed results on how the annealing over the Ising model changes the degrees of the vertices in the graph and show how it gives rise to interesting correlated random graphs.
It is shown that replica symmetry is not broken in the random field Ising model in any dimension, at any temperature and field strength, except possibly at a measure-zero set of exceptional temperatures and field strengths.
We prove the existence of the local weak limit of the measure obtained by sampling random triangulations of size $n$ decorated by an Ising configuration with a weight proportional to the energy of this configuration. To do so, we establish the algebraicity and the asymptotic behaviour of the partition functions of triangulations with spins for any boundary condition. In particular, we show that these partition functions all have the same phase transition at the same critical temperature. Some properties of the limiting object -- called the Infinite Ising Planar Triangulation -- are derived, in…
In this note we extend the analysis of a previous paper by the author to the Random Cluster model. The main result being that the pressure of the finite range ferromagnetic Ising model is analytic as a function of the inverse temperature in the regime $h=0$, $β>β_c$.
In this paper we show that the ultrametricity property remains valid in random field Ising models with independent disorder whenever the field strength is a small perturbation.
An extension of the Ising spin configurations to continuous functions is used for an exact representation of the Random Field Ising Model's order parameter in terms of disagreement percolation. This facilitates an extension of the recent analyses of the decay of correlations to positive temperatures, at homogeneous but arbitrarily weak disorder.
We study the metastability of the ferromagnetic Ising model on a random $r$-regular graph in the zero temperature limit. We prove that in the presence of a small positive external field the time that it takes to go from the all minus state to the all plus state behaves like ${\exp(β(r/2+ \mathcal{O}(\sqrt{r}))n)}$ when the inverse temperature $β\rightarrow\infty$ and the number of vertices $n$ is large enough but fixed. The proof is based on the so-called pathwise approach and bounds on the isoperimetric number of random regular graphs.
A central limit theorem is proved for the free energy of the random field Ising model with all plus or all minus boundary condition, at any temperature (including zero temperature) and any dimension. This solves a problem posed by Wehr and Aizenman in 1990. The proof uses a variant of Stein's method.
This work is concerned with the theory of the Random Field Ising Model on the hypercubic lattice, in the presence of a independent disorder with finite fifth moment. We showed the absence of replica symmetry in any dimensions, at any temperature and field strength, almost surely.
We construct discrete holomorphic observables in the Ising model at criticality and show that they have conformally covariant scaling limits (as mesh of the lattice tends to zero). In the sequel those observables are used to construct conformally invariant scaling limits of interfaces. Though Ising model is often cited as a classical example of conformal invariance, it seems that ours is the first paper where it is actually established.
In a recent paper [15], Giardin{à}, Giberti, Hofstad, Prioriello have proved a law of large number and a central limit theorem with respect to the annealed measure for the magnetization of the Ising model on some random graphs including the random 2-regular graph. We present a new proof of their results, which applies to all random regular graphs. In addition, we prove the existence of annealed pressure in the case of configuration model random graphs.
For the two-dimensional random field Ising model (RFIM) with bimodal (i.e., two-valued) external field, we prove exponential decay of correlations either (1) when the temperature is larger than the critical temperature of the Ising model without external field and the magnetic field strength is small or (2) at any temperature when the magnetic field strength is sufficiently large. Unlike previous work on exponential decay, our approach is not based on cluster expansions but rather on arguably simpler methods; these combine an analysis of the Kertész line and a coupling of Ising measures (and a…
Recently, a random current representation for transverse field Ising models has been introduced in \cite{ILN}. This representation is a space-time version of the classical random current representation exploited by Aizenman et. al. %It is a space-time version of the classical random current representation \cite{Ai82, ABF, AF}. In this paper we formulate and prove corresponding space-time versions of the classical switching lemma and show how they generate various correlation inequalities. In particular we prove exponential decay of truncated two-point functions at positive magnetic fields in $…
The Ising antiferromagnet is an important statistical physics model with close connections to the {\sc Max Cut} problem. Combining spatial mixing arguments with the method of moments and the interpolation method, we pinpoint the replica symmetry breaking phase transition predicted by physicists. Additionally, we rigorously establish upper bounds on the {\sc Max Cut} of random regular graphs predicted by Zdeborová and Boettcher [Journal of Statistical Mechanics 2010]. As an application we prove that the information-theoretic threshold of the disassortative stochastic block model on random regul…
We study a ferromagnetic Ising model on random graphs with a power-law degree distribution and compute the thermodynamic limit of the pressure when the mean degree is finite (degree exponent $τ>2$), for which the random graph has a tree-like structure. For this, we adapt and simplify an analysis by Dembo and Montanari, which assumes finite variance degrees ($τ>3$). We further identify the thermodynamic limits of various physical quantities, such as the magnetization and the internal energy.
In this article we create a new algorithm for the perfect simulation of the infinite Potts model at a sufficiently small or at a sufficiently high temperature, in particular under the transition phase temperature. We study the model for free boundary conditions and we give some consequences for the constant boundary conditions.
In a celebrated 1990 paper, Aizenman and Wehr proved that the two-dimensional random field Ising model has a unique infinite volume Gibbs state at any temperature. The proof is ergodic-theoretic in nature and does not provide any quantitative information. This article proves the first quantitative version of the Aizenman-Wehr theorem. The proof introduces a new method for proving decay of correlations that may be interesting in its own right. A fairly detailed sketch of the main ideas behind the proof is also included.
We examine the Ising model at its critical temperature with an external magnetic field $h a^{\frac{15}{8}}$ on $a\mathbb{Z}^2$ for $a,h >0$. A new proof of exponential decay of the truncated two-point correlation functions is presented. It is proven that the mass (inverse correlation length) is of the order of $h^\frac{8}{15}$ in the limit $h \to 0$. This was previously proven with CLE-methods in $\lbrack 1 \rbrack$. Our new proof uses instead the random current representation of the Ising model and its backbone exploration. The method further relies on recent couplings to the random cluster m…
