We prove almost sure Euler hydrodynamics for a large class of attractive particle systems on $\Z$ starting from an arbitrary initial profile. We generalize earlier works by Seppäläinen (1999) and Andjel et al. (2004). Our constructive approach requires new ideas since the subadditive ergodic theorem (central to previous works) is no longer effective in our setting.

Euler hydrodynamics of one-dimensional attractive particle systems

We consider attractive irreducible conservative particle systems on $\mathbb{Z}$, without necessarily nearest-neighbor jumps or explicit invariant measures. We prove that for such systems, the hydrodynamic limit under Euler time scaling exists and is given by the entropy solution to some scalar conservation law with Lipschitz-continuous flux. Our approach is a generalization of Bahadoran et al. [Stochastic Process. Appl. 99 (2002) 1--30], from which we relax the assumption that the process has explicit invariant measures.

Hydrodynamics and hydrostatics for a class of asymmetric particle systems with open boundaries

We consider attractive particle systems in $\Z^d$ with product invariant measures. We prove that when particles are restricted to a subset of $\Z^d$, with birth and death dynamics at the boundaries, the hydrodynamic limit is given by the unique entropy solution of a conservation law, with boundary conditions in the sense of Bardos, Leroux and Nédélec. For the hydrostatic limit between parallel hyperplanes, we prove a multidimensional version of the phase diagram conjectured in \cite{ps}, and show that it is robust with respect to perturbations of the boundaries.

A hydrodynamic limit for chemotaxis in a given heterogeneous environment

In this paper the first equation within a class of well known chemotaxis systems is derived as a hydrodynamic limit from a stochastic interacting many particle system on the lattice. Hydrodynamic limit of the Kawasaki dynamics on the 1D-lattice with strong, finite-range interaction

We derive the hydrodynamic limit of the Kawasaki dynamics for the one-dimensional conservative system of unbounded real-valued spins with arbitrary strong, quadratic and finite-range interactions. This extends prior results for non-interacting spin systems. The result is obtained by adapting two scale approach of Grunewald, Otto, Villani and Westdickenberg combined with the authors' recent approach on conservative systems with strong interactions.

The boundary driven zero-range process

We study the asymptotic behaviour of the symmetric zero-range process in the finite lattice $\{1,\ldots, N-1\}$ with slow boundary, in which particles are created at site $1$ or annihilated at site $N\!-\!1$ with a rate proportional to $N^{-θ}$, for $θ\geq 1$.
