By analyzing about 33 $\rm pb^{-1}$ data sample collected at and around 3.773 GeV with the BES-II detector at the BEPC collider, we directly measure the branching fractions for the neutral and charged $D$ inclusive semimuonic decays to be $BF(D^0 \to μ^+ X) =(6.8\pm 1.5\pm 0.7)%$ and $BF(D^+ \to μ^+ X) =(17.6 \pm 2.7 \pm 1.8)%$, and determine the ratio of the two branching fractions to be $\frac{BF(D^+ \to μ^+ X)}{BF(D^0 \to μ^+ X)}=2.59\pm 0.70 \pm 0.25$.
We present an update on total and partial branching fractions and on CP asymmetries in the semi-inclusive decay B -> Xs l+l-. Further, we summarize our results on branching fractions and CP asymmetries for semi-inclusive and fully-inclusive B -> Xs gamma decays. We present the first result on the CP asymmetry difference of charged and neutral B -> Xs gamma$ decays yielding the first constraint on the ratio of Wilson coefficients Im (C8/C7).
The inclusive production rate of phi mesons from the decay of b hadrons produced in Z0 decays was measured to be Br(b->phi+X) = 0.0282+-0.0013(stat.)+-0.0019(syst.), using data collected by the OPAL detector at LEP.
A largely model-independent measurement of the inclusive electron momentum spectrum and branching fraction for semileptonic decays of B mesons is presented based on data recorded at the Upsilon(4S) resonance with the BABAR detector. Backgrounds from secondary charm decays are separated from prompt B decays using charge and angular correlations between the electron from one B meson and a high momentum electron tag from the second B meson. The resulting branching fraction is BR(B -> X e nu) = (10.87 +-0.18(stat)+-0.30(syst))%. Based on this measurement we determine the CKM matrix element |V_cb|.
We have measured the branching fraction of the inclusive radiative B meson decay B --> X(s) gamma to be Br(B->X(s)gamma)=(3.36 +/- 0.53(stat) +/- 0.42(sys) +0.50-0.54(th)) x 10^{-4}. The result is based on a sample of 6.07 x 10^6 BBbar events collected at the Upsilon(4S) resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric e^+e^- storage ring.

The branching fractions for the inclusive K0~/K0 and K*(892)- decays are measured to be BF(D0 to K0~/K0 X)=(47.6+-4.8+-3.0)%, BF(D+ to K0~/K0 X)=(60.5+-5.5+-3.3)%, BF(D0 to K*- X)=(15.3+- 8.3+- 1.9)% and BF(D+ to K*- X)=(5.7+- 5.2+- 0.7)%. The upper limits of the branching fractions for the inclusive K*(892)+ decays are set to be BF(D0 to K*+ X)<3.6% and BF(D+ to K*+ X) <20.3% at 90% confidence level.
With singly-tagged $\bar D$ samples selected from the data collected at and around 3.773 GeV with the BESII detector at the BEPC collider, we have measured the branching fractions for the inclusive $K^\pm$ decays of $D^+$ and $D^0$ mesons, which are $BF(D^+\to K^-X) = (24.7 \pm 1.3 \pm 1.2)%$, $BF(D^+\to K^+X) = (6.1 \pm 0.9 \pm 0.4) %$, $BF(D^0\to K^-X) = (57.8 \pm 1.6 \pm 3.2) %$ and $BF(D^0\to K^+X) = (3.5 \pm 0.7 \pm 0.3) %$, respectively. We have also measured the branching fractions for the inclusive semileptonic decays of $D^+$ and $D^0$ mesons to be $BF(D^+ \to e^+ X)=(15.2 \pm 0.9 \pm…
We report a measurement of the inclusive charmless semileptonic branching fraction of B mesons in a sample of 89 million BBbar events recorded with the BABAR detector at the Y(4S) resonance. Events are selected by fully reconstructing the decay of one B meson and identifying a charged lepton from the decay of the other B meson. The number of signal events is extracted from the hadronic mass distribution and is used to determine the ratio of branching fractions BR(B->Xulnu)/BR(B->Xlnu) = (2.06 +/-0.25(stat) +/-0.23(syst) +/-0.36(theo)) x 10^{-2}. Using the measured branching fraction for inclus…
We present a measurement of the electron spectrum from inclusive semileptonic {\it B} decay, using 5.1 fb$^{-1}$ of $Υ(4S)$ data collected with the Belle detector. A high-momentum lepton tag was used to separate the semileptonic {\it B} decay electrons from secondary decay electrons. We obtained the branching fraction, ${\cal B}(B\to X e^+ ν) = (10.90 \pm 0.12 \pm 0.49)%$, with minimal model dependence. From this measurement, we derive a value for the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa matrix element $|V_{cb}| = 0.0408 \pm 0.0010 {\rm (exp)} \pm 0.0025{\rm (th)}$.

An upper limit on the branching fraction at 90% C.L. for the decay D+ -> K*0(892)X is set to be BF(D+ -> K…
The inclusive production of the omega(782) vector meson in hadronic Z decays is measured and compared to model predictions. The analysis is based on 4 million hadronic Z decays recorded by the ALEPH detector between 1991 and 1995. The production rate for x_p = p_meson/p_beam > 0.05 is measured in the omega -> pi^+ pi^- pi^0 decay mode and found to be 0.585 +- 0.019_stat +- 0.033_sys per event. Inclusive eta meson production is also measured in the same decay channel for x_p > 0.10, obtaining 0.355 +- 0.011_stat +- 0.024_sys per event. The branching ratio for omega -> mu^+ mu^- is investigated.…
Using the angular correlation between the $π^+$ emitted in a $D^{*+} \rightarrow D^0 π^+$ decay and the $e^+$ emitted in the subsequent $D^0 \rightarrow Xe^+ν$ decay, we have measured the branching fraction for the inclusive semi-electronic decay of the $D^0$ meson to be: {\cal B}(D^0 \rightarrow X e^+ ν) = [6.64 \pm 0.18 (stat.) \pm 0.29 (syst.)] \%. The result is based on 1.7 fb$^{-1}$ of $e^+e^-$ collisions recorded by the CLEO II detector located at the Cornell Electron Storage Ring (CESR). Combining the analysis presented in this paper with previous CLEO results we find, \frac{{\cal B} (D…
We report a measurement of the branching fraction of inclusive semileptonic $B$ meson decays $B\to X_c\ellν\ell$ in $Υ(4S)\to B\bar B$~data recorded by the Belle II experiment at the SuperKEKB asymmetric-energy $e^+e^-$ collider and corresponding to 62.8 fb$^{-1}$ of integrated luminosity. Only a charged lepton (electon or muon) is reconstructed and the signal yield is determined from a fit to the lepton momentum distribution in the center-of-mass frame of the colliding beams. Averaging the result in the electron and muon channels, we find ${\cal B}(B\to X_c\ellν_\ell) = (9.75\pm 0.03(\text{st…
We present measurements of the inclusive branching fractions for the decays D^+ -> X e^+ nu_e and D^0 -> X e^+ nu_e, using 281 pb^-1 of data collected on the psi(3770) resonance with the CLEO-c detector. We find Br(D^0 ->Xe^+ν_e) = (6.46 \pm 0.17 \pm 0.13)% and Br((D^+ -> Xe^+nu_e) = (16.13 \pm 0.20 \pm 0.33)%. Using the known D meson lifetimes, we obtain the ratio Gamma{D^+}^sl/Gamma_{D^0}^sl= 0.985\pm 0.028\pm 0.015, confirming isospin invariance at the level of 3%. The positron momentum spectra from D^+ and D^0 have consistent shapes.
We present a preliminary determination of the inclusive branching fraction for the rare radiative penguin transition B -> X_{s} gamma. The measurement is based on a data sample of 60 million BB pairs collected between 1999 and 2001 with the BaBar detector at the PEPII asymmetric-energy e+e- B Factory at SLAC. We study events containing a high-energy photon from one B (or Bbar) decay and a tagging primary lepton from the decay of the other B meson. By this means, we are able to reduce a significant component of the background without introduction of model dependent uncertainties in the event se…
We present measurements of partial branching fractions of $B \rightarrow K^+ X$, $B \rightarrow K^0 X$, and $B \rightarrow π^+ X$, where $X$ denotes any accessible final state above the endpoint for B decays to charmed mesons, specifically for momenta of the candidate hadron greater than 2.34 (2.36) GeV for kaons (pions) in the B rest frame. These measurements are sensitive to potential new-physics particles which could enter the $b \rightarrow s(d)$ loop transitions. The analysis is performed on a data sample consisting of $383 \times 10^6$ $B \bar{B}$ pairs collected with the BaBar detector …
Inclusive semileptonic B_s^0 -> X^+ l^- νdecays are studied for the first time using a 23.6 fb^{-1} data sample collected on the Y(5S) resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric energy e^+ e^- collider. These decays are identified by the means of a lepton accompanied by a same-sign D_s^+ meson originating from the other B_s^0 in the event. The semileptonic branching fractions are measured in the electron and muon channels to be Bf(B_s^0 -> X^+ e^- ν) = (10.9 \pm 1.0 \pm 0.9)% and Bf(B_s^0 -> X^+ μ^- ν) = (9.2 \pm 1.0 \pm 0.8)%, respectively. Assuming an equal electron and muon pr…
We report a measurement of the inclusive $B\to X_{s+d} γ$ and $B\to X_{s} γ$ branching fractions using a data set of $(772 \pm 11)\times 10^6$ $B\bar{B}$ pairs collected at the $Υ(4S)$ resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy $e^+e^-$ collider. Results are presented for photon energy thresholds between 1.7 to 2.0 GeV. For the 1.8 GeV threshold we find $\mathcal{B}_{sγ} = (3.01 \pm 0.10~\text{(stat)} \pm 0.18~\text{(syst)} \pm 0.08~\text{(model)})\times 10^{-4}$. The Heavy Quark Expansion parameters that best fit the spectrum in the shape-function scheme are $m_{b} = (4.6…
A measurement of the inclusive semileptonic branching ratios of b hadrons produced in Z decay is presented, using four million hadronic events collected by the ALEPH detector from 1991 to 1995. Electrons and muons are selected opposite to b-tagged hemispheres. Two different methods are explored to distinguish the contributions from direct $\bl$ and cascade $\bcl$ decays to the total lepton yield. One is based on the lepton transverse momentum spectrum, the other makes use of the correlation between the charge of the lepton and charge estimators built from tracks in the opposite hemisphere of t…
We report on the inclusive branching fractions of $B^-$ and of ${\bar B}^0$ mesons decaying to ${D^0 X}$, ${{\bar D}^0 X}$, ${D^+ X}$, ${D^- X}$, ${D_s^+ X}$, ${D_s^- X}$, ${Λ_c^+ X}$, ${{\bar Λ}_c^- X}$, based on a sample of 88.9 million $B \bar B$ events recorded with the $BABAR$ detector at the $Υ(4S)$ resonance. Events are selected by completely reconstructing one $B$ and searching for a reconstructed charmed particle in the rest of the event. We measure the number of charmed and of anti-charmed particles per $B$ decay and derive the total charm yield per $B^-$ decay, $n_c^- = 1.313 \pm 0.…
In this article, I review the recent results for inclusive and exclusive measurements for $b\to sγ$ and $b\to dγ$ decays from $B$ factories Belle and Babar. I describe the measurement of branching fraction and direct CP violating asymmetry for inclusive $B\to X_sγ$ decay. For results of $b\to dγ$ process, I introduce the measurement of branching fraction of exclusive $b\to dγ$ modes, the first measurement for CP asymmetry of $b\to dγ$ process using $B\toργ$ mode, and semi-inclusive measurement for $B\to X_dγ$.
We report a new measurement of the B-meson semileptonic decay momentum spectrum that has been made with a sample of 9.4/fb of electron-positron annihilation data collected with the CLEO II detector at the Y(4S) resonance. Electrons from primary semileptonic decays and secondary charm decays were separated by using charge and angular correlations in Y(4S) events with a high-momentum lepton and an additional electron. We determined the semileptonic branching fraction to be (10.91 +- 0.09 +- 0.24)% from the normalization of the electron-energy spectrum. We also measured the moments of the electro…
Charmless semileptonic decays, ${\bar{B}} \to X_u \ell \barν$, are studied in a sample of 232 million $B\bar{B}$ decays recorded with the BaBar detector, in events where the decay of the second $B$ meson is fully reconstructed. Inclusive charmless decays are selected in kinematic regions where the dominant background from semileptonic B decays to charm is reduced by requirements on the hadronic mass $M_X$ and the momentum transfer $q^2$. The partial branching fraction for ${\bar{B}} \to X_u \ell \barν$ decays for $M_X<1.7$ GeV/c^2 and $q^2>8$ Gev^2/c^4 is measured to be $Δ{\cal{B}}({\bar{B}} \…
The inclusive production of charmonium mesons in B meson decay has been studied in a 20.3 fb$^{-1}$ data set collected by the BaBar experiment operating at the $Υ(4S)$ resonance. Branching fractions have been measured for the inclusive production of the charmonium mesons $J/ψ$, $ψ(2S)$, $χ_{c1}$, and $χ_{c2}$. The branching fractions are also presented as a function of the center-of-mass momentum of the mesons and of the helicity of the $J/ψ$.
We present spectra of prompt electrons from decays of neutral and charged B mesons. The results are based on 140 /fb of data collected by the Belle detector on the Upsilon(4S) resonance at the KEKB e+e- asymmetric collider. We tag Upsilon(4S) -> B \bar{B} events by reconstructing a B meson in one of several hadronic decay modes; the semileptonic decay of the other B meson is inferred from the presence of an identified electron. We obtain for charged and neutral B mesons the partial rates of semileptonic decay, to electrons with momentum greater than 0.6 GeV/c in the B rest frame, and their rat…
Using 8.5M B-anti-B events recorded by the BABAR detector the yield of inclusive J/psi, the branching ratios of psi(2S) and chi_C1 are presented. Combining the charmonium state with either a K+,KS, K*+ or K*0 exclusive B decays are reconstructed and their branching ratios determined. Using the fully reconstructed decays, both the B0 and B+ masses and their difference is measured. Finally the contributions of CP even and odd amplitudes in the decay B to J/psi K* are determined from an angular analysis.
We report a measurement of the inclusive electron energy spectrum for semileptonic decays of B mesons in a data sample of 52 million Y4S -> BBar decays collected with the BABAR detector at the PEP-II asymmetric-energy B-meson factory at SLAC. We determine the branching fraction, first, second, and third moments of the spectrum for lower cut-offs on the electron energy between 0.6 and 1.5 GeV. We measure the partial branching fraction to be Br(B -> X e nu, E_e>0.6 GeV) = (10.36 +-0.06(stat.) +-0.23(sys))%.
We present measurements of the inclusive semileptonic branching fractions of charged and neutral B mesons using 20.6 fb-1 of data measured at the Upsilon(4S) with the BABAR detector. Events are tagged with a fully reconstructed hadronic decay of a B meson. The correlation between the flavor of the tag B meson and the electron charge allows the separation of prompt semileptonic B decays and cascade semileptonic charm decays. We obtain the preliminary inclusive semileptonic branching fraction of charged B mesons b+ = 0.103+/-0.006+/-0.005, neutral B mesons b0 = 0.104+/-0.008+/-0.005, their avera…
We reconstruct the charmonium mesons J/psi, psi(2S) and chi_C1 using a sample of 8.46 x 10^6 B-anti-B events collected by the BABAR detector operating at e^+e^- center of mass energies near the Y(4S) resonance. By measuring rates relative to the branching fraction of the J/psi, we obtain preliminary inclusive B branching fractions of (0.25+/-0.02+/-0.02)% to the psi(2S) and (0.39+/-0.04+/-0.04)% to the chi_C1, and set a 90% confidence level limit of 0.24% on decays through the chi_C2.
The availability of branching fractions for a large majority of $D_s$ decays permits the prediction of inclusive branching fractions. This is achieved with the help of a modest amount of input from an isospin statistical model applied to non-resonant multibody $D_s$ decays. A systematic uncertainty in these mostly small branching ratios is estimated by comparing predictions of this model with those of a model involving quark-antiquark pair production. The calculated inclusive branching fractions can be compared with data (for example, from a large sample of $D_s^+ D_s^{*-} + D_s^{*+} D_s^-$ ob…
A measurement of inclusive semileptonic branching fractions of b hadrons produced in Z decays is presented. An enriched Z -> bbbar sample is obtained with a lifetime flavour-tagging technique. The leptonic events are then selected from this sample, and classified according to their origin, which is determined by comparing the distribution of several kinematic variables using artificial neural network techniques. Using 3.6 million multihadronic events collected with the OPAL detector at energies near the Z resonance, the values BR(b->lX) =(10.83 +- 0.10(stat.) +- 0.20(syst.) +0.20 -0.13(model))…
We present a preliminary measurement of the inclusive charmless semileptonic branching fraction of the B meson, based on $140 fb^{-1}$ of data collected by the Belle detector at the KEKB $e^+e^-$ asymmetric collider. Events are tagged by fully reconstructing one of the B mesons, produced in pairs from $Υ(4S)$. The signal for $b \to u$ semileptonic decay is distinguished from the $b \to c$ semileptonic background using the hadronic and leptonic invariant mass distributions $M_X$ and $q^2$. We find the partial branching fraction for the kinematical region given by $M_X < 1.7 GeV/c^2$ and $q^2>8 …
Using 605/fb of data collected at the Upsilon(4S) resonance we present a measurement of the inclusive radiative B-meson decay channel, B to X_s gamma. For the lower photon energy thresholds of 1.7, 1.8, 1.9 and 2.0GeV, as defined in the rest frame of the B-meson, we measure the partial branching fraction and the mean and variance of the photon energy spectrum. At the 1.7GeV threshold we obtain the partial branching fraction BF(B to X_s gamma) = (3.45 +/- 0.15 +/- 0.40) x 10^-4, where the errors are statistical and systematic.
We have measured the inclusive semileptonic branching fractions of $D^0$, $D^+$, and $D^+_s$ mesons. For these measurements, we have used the full CLEO-c open-charm data samples, 818 pb$^{-1}$ at $E_\text{CM} = 3.774$ GeV, giving $D^0 \bar{D}^0$ and $D^+ D^-$ events, and 602 pb$^{-1}$ at $E_\text{CM} = 4.170$ GeV, giving $D^{\ast \pm}_s D^\mp_s$ events. We obtain $\mathcal{B}(D^0 \to X e^+ ν_e) = (6.46 \pm 0.09 \pm 0.11)$%, $\mathcal{B}(D^+ \to X e^+ ν_e) = (16.13 \pm 0.10 \pm 0.29)$%, and $\mathcal{B}(D^+_s \to X e^+ ν_e) = (6.52 \pm 0.39 \pm 0.15)$%, where the first uncertainties are statist…
We have measured the branching fractions for B -> D_bar X, B -> D X, and B -> D_bar X \ell^+ ν, where ``B'' is an average over B^0 and B^+, ``D'' is a sum over D^0 and D^+, and``D_bar'' is a sum over D^0_bar and D^-. From these results and some previously measured branching fractions, we obtain Br(b -> c c_bar s) = (21.9 $\pm$ 3.7)%, Br(b -> s g) < 6.8% @ 90% c.l, and Br(D^0 -> K^- π^+) = (3.69 $\pm$ 0.20)%. Implications for the ``B semileptonic decay problem'' (measured branching fraction being below theoretical expectations) are discussed. The increase in the value of Br(b -> c c_bar s) due …
We report the first measurements of inclusive W and Z cross sections times leptonic branching ratios for p-pbar collisions at $\sqrt{s} = 1.96$ TeV, based on their decays to electrons and muons. The data correspond to an integrated luminosity of 72 pb-1 recorded with the CDF detector at the Fermilab Tevatron. We test e-mu universality in W decays, and we measure the ratio of leptonic W and Z rates from which the leptonic branching fraction $B(W\goto\ellν)$ can be extracted as well as an indirect value for the total width of the W and the CKM matrix element, Vcs.
A preliminary measurement of branching fractions of the D0 and D+ mesons into the phi meson is reported. The result is based on a data sample of 22.3 pb-1 collected at the CM energy of 4.03 GeV with the BES detector operated at the BEPC e+e- storage ring. From tagged D\bar{D} pair events the average branching fraction for a mixture of D0 and D+ is determined to be B(D->phiX)= (1.29+-0.51+-0.12)%. Upper limits at 90% confidence level are set to be B(D0->phiX)<2.5%, B(D+->phiX)<5.0%, and B(D+->phie+X)<1.6%.
We measure the inclusive branching fractions of charm mesons into three mesons with large s-anti-s content, namely the eta, eta' and phi. Data were accumulated with the CLEO-c detector. For D0 and D+ rates, we use 281/pb taken on the psi(3770) resonance, and for Ds+ rates, we use 195/pb taken at 4170 MeV. We find that the production rates of these particles are larger in Ds+ decays than in D0 and D+ decays. The phi rate, in particular, is 15 times greater. These branching fractions can be used to measure Bs yields either at the Upsilon(5S) resonance or at hadron colliders.
Inclusive branching ratios involving b to tau transitions are measured in approximately four million hadronic Z decays collected by the ALEPH detector at LEP. The fully-inclusive branching ratio b -> tau nu X and the semi-inclusive branching ratio b -> tau nu D*+/- X are measured to be (2.43 +/- 0.20 +/- 0.25)% and (0.88 +/- 0.31 +/- 0.28)%, in agreement with the standard model predictions. Upper limits on the branching fractions b -> tau nu and b -> s nu nubar are set to 8.3 10**-4 and 6.4 10**-4 at the 90% C.L. These results allow a 90% C.L. lower limit of 0.40 (GeV/c**2)**-1 to be set on th…
The inclusive charm hadron semileptonic branching fractions B(c to e) and B(c to mu) in Z to ccbar events have been determined using 4.4 million hadronic Z decays collected with the OPAL detector at LEP. A charm-enriched sample is obtained by selecting events with reconstructed D*+- mesons. Using leptons found in the hemisphere opposite that of the D*+- mesons, the semileptonic branching fractions of charm hadrons are measured to be B(c to e) = 0.103 +-0.009 +0.009 -0.008 and B(c to mu) = 0.090 +-0.007 +0.007 -0.006 where the first errors are in each case statistical and the others systematic.…
Measurements of production cross-sections of inclusive $b$-hadrons pairs, bottom mesons and baryons, and quarkonia at LHC will be shown. Recent measurements of branching fractions of bottom baryons, bottom mesons with baryons in the final state, and a new result about a search for intermediate states in meson decay will also be shown.
I report here recent measurements of observables from the inclusive decays $B\to X_sγ$ and $B\to X_s\ell^+\ell^-$. Included are measurements of the branching fractions and CP asymmetries for both channels, as well as the forward-backward lepton asymmetry in inclusive $B\to X_s\ell^+\ell^-$ decays, which is the first measurement of this quantity.
We report on the measurement of inclusive charmless semileptonic B decays $B \to X_{u} \ell ν$. The analysis makes use of hadronic tagging and is performed on the full data set of the Belle experiment comprising 772 million $B\bar{B}$ pairs. In the proceedings, the preliminary results of measurements of partial branching fractions and the CKM matrix element $|V_{ub}|$ are presented.
Using data taken with the CLEO-c detector at the Cornell Electron Storage Ring, we have investigated the direct photon momentum spectrum in the decay J/psi->gamma+gluon+gluon, via the 'tagged' process: e+e- -> psi(2S); psi(2S)->J/psi pi+pi-; J/psi->photon + X. Including contributions from two-body radiative decay processes, we find the ratio of the inclusive direct photon branching fraction to that of the dominant three-gluon branching fraction to be R=0.137+/-0.001+/-0.016+/-0.004, where the errors shown are statistical, systematic, and the model-dependent uncertainty related to the extrapola…
We study the inclusive electron spectrum of B->X_u e nu decays near the kinematic limit for B->X_c e nu transitions using a sample of 88 million Upsilon(4S) decays recorded by the BABAR detector at the PEP II e+e- storage rings. For the electron momentum interval of 2.0 - 2.6 GeV/c the partial branching fraction is measured to be DeltaB(B->X_u e nu) = (0.480 +/- 0.029_{stat} +/- 0.053_{syst})x10^{-3}. Combining this result on with measurements of the inclusive photon spectrum in B->X_s gamma transition we find |V_ub|=(3.94 +/- 0.25_{exp} +/- 0.37_{f_u} +/- 0.19_{theory})x10^{-3}, where the fir…
We report new measurements of the differential and total branching ratios for inclusive B decay to D^0, D^+ and D^{*+} and the first measurement of the same quantities for inclusive B decay to $D^{*0}$. Here B is the mixture of B_d and B_u from $Υ(4S)$ decay. Furthermore, since more than one charm particle (or antiparticle) of the same kind can be produced in B decay, here ``inclusive B branching ratio'' is used to mean the average number of charm particles and their antiparticles of a certain species produced in B decay. We obtain the following results (the first error is statistical, the sec…
We present preliminary results from a lepton-tagged fully-inclusive measurement of $B \to X_{s}γ$ decays, where $X_{s}$ is any strange hadronic state. Results are based on a BaBar data set of 88.5 million $B\bar{B}$ pairs at the $Υ(4S)$ resonance. We present a reconstructed photon energy spectrum in the $Υ(4S)$ frame, and partial branching fractions above minimum reconstructed photon energies of 1.9, 2.0, 2.1 and 2.2 GeV. We then convert these to measurements of partial branching fractions and truncated first and second moments of the true photon energy distribution in the B rest frame, above …
The inclusive production of $D_s$, $D^0$, and $J/ψ$ mesons is studied using a 1.86 fb$^{-1}$ data sample collected on the $Υ$(5S) resonance by the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric energy $e^+ e^-$ collider. The number of $b\bar{b}$ events in the $Υ$(5S) data sample is determined. We measure the branching fractions $B(Υ({\rm 5S}) \to D_s X) / 2 = (23.6 \pm 1.2 \pm 3.6)%$, $B(Υ({\rm 5S}) \to D^0 X) / 2 = (53.8 \pm 2.0 \pm 3.4)%$}, and $B(Υ({\rm 5S}) \to J/ψX) / 2 = (1.030 \pm 0.080 \pm 0.067)%$. From the $D_s$ and $D^0$ inclusive branching fractions the ratio $f_s = (18.0 \pm 1.3 \pm 3.2)%$…
Experimental measurements of decay branching fractions of semitaunic and semimuonic $B_c$ into $J/ψ$ has challenged the lepton flavor universality in standard model with about two standard deviations. In this paper, we first investigate the unitary constraint on form factors of $B_c$ meson into $S$-wave and $P$-wave charmonium. Such constraint leads to the exploration of the $R_{J/ψ}$ and other ratios $R_{η_c}$, $R_{h_c}$, and $R_{χ_{cJ}}$ in a model-independent way. These results together with future experimental measurements can be used to explore the lepton flavor universality in a more sys…
A reliable determination of the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa matrix element $|V_{cb}|$ is mandatory for precision flavor physics and for the search for CP violating phases from new, heavy particles. In this article, we review the theory of the determination of $|V_{cb}|$ from inclusive semileptonic $B$ decays. We discuss the available measurements of the semileptonic $B$ branching fraction and other inclusive observables in B decays relevant to the determination of $|V_{cb}|$. Finally, we perform a global fit to extract $|V_{cb}|$ and the $b$-quark mass $m_b$.
Non-leptonic charm decays provide insights into both electro-weak and strong dynamics. This includes the study of long-distance hadronic effects, the approximate symmetries of strong interactions, and precision tests of the Standard Model. In these proceedings we summarise recent results in non-leptonic branching fraction measurements of D mesons, including measurements of relative and absolute branching fractions in inclusive and exclusive modes, radiative decays, and measurements of direct CP violation.
From a sample of about 10^9 Phi mesons produced at DAFNE, we have selected KL mesons tagged by observing KS->pi+pi- decays. We present results on the major KL branching ratios, including those of the semileptonic decays needed for the determination of Vus. These branching ratio measurements are fully inclusive with respect to final-state radiation. The KL lifetime has also been measured.
We describe new measurements of the inclusive and exclusive branching fractions for Psi(2S) transitions to J/Psi using e+e- collision data collected with the CLEO detector operating at CESR. All branching fractions and ratios of branching fractions reported here represent either the most precise measurements to date or the first direct measurements. Indirectly and in combination with other CLEO measurements, we determine B(ChicJ --> gamma J/Psi) and B(Psi(2S) --> light hadrons).
Measurements of vector mesons at HERA allow a detailed study of diffractive and non-diffractive production mechanisms, fragmentation and decay branching ratios. Results are presented on hadronic resonance measurements. In addition, the first observation of two meson states at masses around 1500 MeV and 1700 MeV are reported using inclusive KsKs production in deep inelastic ep scattering in ZEUS at HERA.
We search for the purely leptonic decay $B^{\pm} \to μ^{\pm} ν_μ$ in the full BaBar dataset, having an integrated luminosity of approximately 426 fb$^{-1}$. We adopt a fully inclusive approach, where the signal candidate is identified by the highest momentum lepton in the event and the companion $B$ is inclusively reconstructed without trying to identify its decay products. We set a preliminary upper limit on the branching fraction of $\BR(B^{\pm} \to μ^{\pm} ν_μ) < 1.3 \times 10^{-6}$ at the 90% confidence level, using a Bayesian approach.
We present a measurement of the inclusive electron spectrum in charmless semileptonic B decays near the kinematic limit for B->X_c eνtransitions, using a sample of 88 million Upsilon(4S) decays recorded by the BABAR detector. Partial branching fraction measurements are performed in five overlapping intervals of the electron momentum. For the interval of 2.0-2.6 GeV/c we obtain ΔBr(B->X_u eν) = (0.572+-0.041(stat)+-0.065(syst))x10^{-3}. Combining this result with shape function parameters extracted from BABAR measurements of moments of the inclusive photon spectrum in B->X_s+gamma decays and mo…
One important quarkonia result from the Tevatron experiments is the ratio of direct inclusive production of χ_{c1} to χ_{c2}, which is most readily measured using χ_{cJ}\toγJ/ψdecays. This note uses CLEO publications to obtain a ratio of these radiative branching fractions, {\cal B}(χ_{c1}\toγJ/ψ)/{\cal B}(χ_{c2}\toγJ/ψ) = 1.91 \pm 0.10, using cancelation in systematic uncertainties not available in the Particle Data Group listings.
We have searched for the effective FCNC decays b->s l+l- using an inclusive method. We set upper limits on the branching ratios B(b->s e+e-) < 5.7 10^{-5}, B(b->s mu+mu-) < 5.8 10^{-5}, and B(b->s e+-mu-+) < 2.2 10^{-5} (at 90 %\ C.L.). Combining the di-electron and di-muon decay modes we find: B(b->s l+l-) < 4.2 10^{-5} (at 90 % C.L.).
We measure partial branching fractions for the inclusive charmless semileptonic decay of $\Bxulnu$, and present determinations of the CKM matrix element $\Vub$. This analysis is based on a sample of 467 million $\FourS$ decays into $\BB$ pairs, collected with the \babar\ detector at the PEP-II $e^{+} e^{-}$ storage rings. We select events where one of the B mesons is fully reconstructed in a hadronic decay mode and the other B decays semileptonically into an electron or a muon. We then use the invariant mass, $\mx$, of the hadronic system, the invariant mass squared, $q^{2}$, of the lepton and…
