Parametrization, structure and Bruhat order of certain spherical quotients

Let $G$ be a reductive algebraic group and let $Z$ be the stabilizer of a nilpotent element $e$ of the Lie algebra of $G$. We consider the action of $Z$ on the flag variety of $G$, and we focus on the case where this action has a finite number of orbits (i.e., $Z$ is a spherical subgroup). The intermediate orders of a Coxeter group

We define a class of partial orders on a Coxeter group associated with sets of reflections. In special cases, these lie between the left weak order and the Bruhat order. We prove that these posets are graded by the length function and that the projections on the right parabolic quotients are always order preserving. We also introduce the notion of $k$-Bruhat graph, $k$-absolute length and $k$-absolute order, proposing some related conjectures and problems.

Combinatorial Proof of the Inversion Formula on the Kazhdan-Lusztig R-Polynomials

Let $W$ be a Coxeter group, and for $u,v\in W$, let $R_{u,v}(q)$ be the Kazhdan-Lusztig $R$-polynomial indexed by $u$ and $v$. In this paper, we present a combinatorial proof of the inversion formula on $R$-polynomials due to Kazhdan and Lusztig. This problem was raised by Brenti. Based on Dyer's combinatorial interpretation of the $R$-polynomials in terms of increasing Bruhat paths, we reformulate the inversion formula in terms of $V$-paths. Hultman, Linusson, Shareshian, and Sjöstrand gave a pattern avoidance characterization of the permutations for which the number of chambers of its associated inversion arrangement is the same as the size of its lower interval in Bruhat order. Depth in classical Coexter groups

The depth statistic was defined by Petersen and Tenner for an element of an arbitrary Coxeter group in terms of factorizations of the element into a product of reflections. It can also be defined as the minimal cost, given certain prescribed edge weights, for a path in the Bruhat graph from the identity to an element. We present algorithms for calculating the depth of an element of a classical Coxeter group that yield simple formulas for this statistic. Transition matrices between Young's natural and seminormal representations

We derive a formula for the entries in the change-of-basis matrix between Young's seminormal and natural representations of the symmetric group. These entries are determined as sums over weighted paths in the weak Bruhat graph on standard tableaux, and we show that they can be computed recursively as the weighted sum of at most two previously-computed entries in the matrix. We generalize our results to work for affine Hecke algebras, Ariki-Koike algebras, Iwahori-Hecke algebras, and complex reflection groups given by the wreath product of a finite cyclic group with the symmetric group.

The Waldspurger Transform of Permutations and Alternating Sign Matrices

In 2005 J.L. Waldspurger proved the following theorem: given a finite real reflection group $W$, the closed positive root cone is tiled by the images of the open weight cone under the action of the linear transformations $id-w$. Looping of the numbers game and the alcoved hypercube

We study in detail the so-called looping case of Mozes's game of numbers, which concerns the (finite) orbits in the reflection representation of affine Weyl groups situated on the boundary of the Tits cone. We give a simple proof that all configurations in the orbit are obtainable from each other by playing the numbers game, and give a strategy for going from one configuration to another. Tableau posets and the fake degrees of coinvariant algebras

We introduce two new partial orders on the standard Young tableaux of a given partition shape, in analogy with the strong and weak Bruhat orders on permutations. Both posets are ranked by the major index statistic offset by a fixed shift. The existence of such ranked poset structures allows us to classify the realizable major index statistics on standard tableaux of arbitrary straight shape and certain skew shapes.
