Let $FG$ be the group algebra of a finite $2$-group $G$ over a finite field $F$ of characteristic two and $\circledast$ an involution which arises from $G$. The $\circledast$-unitary subgroup of $FG$, denoted by $V_{\circledast}(FG)$, is defined to be the set of all normalized units $u$ satisfying the property $u^{\circledast}=u^{-1}$. Let V(KG) be a normalised unit group of the modular group algebra of a finite p-group G over the field K of p elements. We introduce a notion of symmetric subgroups in V(KG) as subgroups invariant under the action of the classical involution of the group algebra KG. We study properties of symmetric subgroups and construct a counterexample to the conjecture by V.Bovdi, which states that V(KG)=<G,S*>, where S* is a set of symmetric units of V(KG).

In this article, we first characterize pseudocomplemented inductive modular lattices by using their two 0-sublattices. Then we use two 0-sublattices of a subgroup lattice to describe all locally cyclic abelian groups.
