In this paper we prove the "Tiling implies Spectral" part of Fuglede's paper for the case of three intervals. Then we prove the "Spectral implies Tiling" part of the conjecture for the case of three equal intervals as also when the intervals have lengths 1/2, 1/4, 1/4. For the general case we change our approach to get information on the structure of the spectrum for the n-interval case. Finally, we use symbolic computations on Mathematica, and prove this part of the conjecture with an additional assumption on the spectrum.
We present an approach to Fuglede's conjecture in $\mathbb{Z}_p^3$ using linear programming bounds, obtaining the following partial result: if $A\subseteq\mathbb{Z}_p^3$ with $p^2-p\sqrt{p}+\sqrt{p}<|A|<p^2$, then $A$ is not spectral.

Fuglede's spectral set conjecture states that a subset $Ω$ of a locally compact abelian group $G$ tiles the group by translation if and only if there exists a subset of continuous group characters which is an orthogonal basis of $L^2(Ω)$. We prove that Fuglede's conjecture holds on cyclic groups $\mathbb{Z}_{pqr}$ with $p,q,r$ distinct primes.
Fuglede's conjecture states that a subset $Ω\subseteq\mathbb{R}^{n}$ of positive and finite Lebesgue measure is a spectral set if and only if it tiles $\mathbb{R}^{n}$ by translation. The conjecture does not hold in both directions for $\mathbb{R}^n$, $n\ge3$. However, this conjecture remains open in $\mathbb{R}$ and $\mathbb{R}^2$. Cyclic groups play important roles in the study of Fuglede's conjecture in $\mathbb{R}$. In this paper, we introduce a new tool to study the spectral sets in cyclic groups. In particular, we prove that Fuglede's conjecture holds in $\mathbb{Z}_{p^{n}qr}$.
The study of Fuglede's conjecture on the direct product of elementary abelian groups was initiated by Iosevich et al. For the product of two elementary abelian groups the conjecture holds. For $\mathbb{Z}_p^3$ the problem is still open if $p\ge 11$. In connection we prove that Fuglede's conjecture holds on $\mathbb{Z}_{p}^2\times \mathbb{Z}_q$ by developing a method based on ideas from discrete geometry.
We describe computer programs accompanying our paper and show that running them suffices to verify Fuglede's conjecture in $\mathbb{Z}_2^5$ and $\mathbb{Z}_2^6$.

The tile-spectral direction of the discrete Fuglede-conjecture is well-known for cyclic groups of square-free order, initiated by Laba and Meyerowitz, but the spectral-tile direction is far from being well-understood. The product of at most three primes as the order of the cyclic group was studied intensely in the last couple of years. In this paper we study the case when the order of the cyclic group is the product of four different primes and prove that Fuglede's conjecture holds in this case.

In this note we give an example of a set $\W\subset \R^4$ such that $L^2(\W)$ admits an orthonormal basis of exponentials $\{\frac{1}{|\W |^{1/2}}e^{2πi x, ξ}\}_{ξ\inŁ}$ for some set $Ł\subset\R^4$, but which does not tile $\R^4$ by translations. This improves Tao's recent 5-dimensional example, and shows that one direction of Fuglede's conjecture fails already in dimension 4. Some common properties of translational tiles and spectral sets are also proved.
We show that the spectral set conjecture by Fuglede holds in the setting of cyclic groups of order $p^n q$, where $p$, $q$ are distinct primes and $n\geq1$. In this short note we construct a spectral, non-tiling set of size $2p$ in $(\mathbb{Z}/p\mathbb{Z})^4$, $p$ odd prime. This example complements a previous counterexample in [arXiv:1509.01090], which existed only for $p \equiv 3 \pmod{4}$. On the contrary we show that the conjecture does hold in $(\mathbb{Z}/2\mathbb{Z})^4$.

We investigate the discrete Fuglede's conjecture and Pompeiu problem on finite abelian groups and develop a strong connection between the two problems. We give a geometric condition under which a multiset of a finite abelian group has the discrete Pompeiu property. Using this description and the revealed connection we prove that Fuglede's conjecture holds for $\mathbb{Z}_{p^n q^2}$, where $p$ and $q$ are different primes. In particular, we show that every spectral subset of $\mathbb{Z}_{p^n q^2}$ tiles the group. Further, using our combinatorial methods we give a simple proof for the statement…

In this paper, we show an equi-disctributed property in $2$-dimensional finite abelian groups $\mathbb{Z}_{p^2}\times \mathbb{Z}_{p}$ where $p$ is a prime number. By using this equi-disctributed property, we prove that Fuglede's spectral set conjecture holds on groups $\mathbb{Z}_{p^2}\times \mathbb{Z}_{p}$, namely, a set in $\mathbb{Z}_{p^2}\times \mathbb{Z}_{p}$ is a spectral set if and only if it is a tile.

We study tiling and spectral sets in vector spaces over prime fields. The classical Fuglede conjecture in locally compact abelian groups says that a set is spectral if and only if it tiles by translation. This conjecture was disproved by T. Tao in Euclidean spaces of dimensions 5 and higher, using constructions over prime fields (in vector spaces over finite fields of prime order) and lifting them to the Euclidean setting. A bounded measurable set $Ω\subset{\mathbb R}^d$ is called a spectral set if it admits some exponential orthonormal basis $\{e^{2πi \langleλ,x\rangle}: λ\inΛ\}$ for $L^2(Ω)$. In this paper, we show that in dimension one $d=1$, any spectrum $Λ$ with $0\inΛ$ of a spectral set $Ω$ with Lebesgue measure normalized to 1 must be rational. Combining previous results that spectrum must be periodic, the Fuglede's conjecture on ${\mathbb R}^1$ is now equivalent to the corresponding conjecture on all cyclic groups ${\mathbb Z}_{n}.$
In this short note we prove a conjecture for the interval $(0,1)$, related to a logarithmically completely monotonic function, presented in \cite{BG}. Then, we extend by proving a more generalized theorem. At the end we pose an open problem on a logarithmically completely monotonic function involving $q$-Digamma function.
We study the $q$-analogue of the average of Montgomery's function $F(α, T)$ over bounded intervals. Assuming the Generalized Riemann Hypothesis for Dirichlet $L$-functions, we obtain upper and lower bounds for this average over an interval that are quite close to the pointwise conjectured value of 1. To compute our bounds, we extend a Fourier analysis approach by Carneiro, Chandee, Chirre, and Milinovich, and apply computational methods of non-smooth programming.
We study three integrals related to the celebrated pair correlation conjecture of H. L. Montgomery. The first is the integral of Montgomery's function $F(α, T)$ in bounded intervals, the second is an integral introduced by Selberg related to estimating the variance of primes in short intervals, and the last is the second moment of the logarithmic derivative of the Riemann zeta-function near the critical line. The conjectured asymptotic for any of these three integrals is equivalent to Montgomery's pair correlation conjecture. Assuming the Riemann hypothesis, we substantially improve the known …
