Determinantal formulae for Jacobian theta functions that go back to Klein are elaborated, via an idea due to Matone and Volpato. Also, the natural square roots of theta constants on the moduli space of curves whose existence was shown by Tsuyumine are proved to have a spinorial structure.

Rosenhain-Thomae formulae for higher genera hyperelliptic curves

Rosenhain's famous formula expresses the periods of first kind integrals of genus two hyperelliptic curves in terms of $θ$-constants. In this paper we generalize the Rosenhain formula to higher genera hyperelliptic curves by means of the second Thomae formula for derivated non-singular $θ$-constants.

A new proof of a Thomae-like formula for non hyperelliptic genus 3 curves

We discuss Weber's formula which gives the quotient of two Thetanullwerte for a plane smooth quartic in terms of the bitangents. In particular, we show how it can easily be derived from the Riemann-Jacobi formula.

A Thomae-like Formula: Algebraic Computations of Theta Constants

We give an algebraic method to compute the fourth power of the quotient of any even theta constants associated to a given non-hyperelliptic curve in terms of geometry of the curve. In order to apply the method, we work out non-hyperelliptic curves of genus 4, in particular, such curves lying on a singular quadric, which arise from del Pezzo surfaces of degree 1. Indeed, we obtain a complete 2-level structure of the curves by studying their theta characteristic divisors via exceptional divisors of the del Pezzo surfaces as the structure is required for the method.

Arithmetic-geometric means for hyperelliptic curves and Calabi-Yau varieties

In this paper, we define a generalized arithmetic-geometric mean $μ_g$ among $2^g$ terms motivated by $2τ$-formulas of theta constants. By using Thomae's formula, we give two expressions of $μ_g$ when initial terms satisfy some conditions. One is given in terms of period integrals of a hyperelliptic curve $C$ of genus $g$. The other is by a period integral of a certain Calabi-Yau $g$-fold given as a double cover of the $g$-dimensional projective space $\mathbf{P}^g$.

General derivative Thomae formula for singular half-periods

The paper develops the result of second Thomae theorem in hyperelliptic case. The main formula, called general Thomae formula, provides expressions for values at zero of the lowest non-vanishing derivatives of theta functions with singular characteristics of arbitrary multiplicity in terms of branch points and period matrix. New generalisation of Jacobi's derivative formula

Periods of second kind differentials of (n,s)-curves

For elliptic curves, expressions for the periods of elliptic integrals of the second kind in terms of theta-constants, have been known since the middle of the 19th century. In this paper we consider the problem of generalizing these results to curves of higher genera, in particular to a special class of algebraic curves, the so-called $(n,s)$-curves. The modular variety of hyperelliptic curves of genus three

The modular variety of non singular and complete hyperelliptic curves with level-two structure of genus 3 is a 5-dimensional quasi projective variety which admits several standard compactifications.
