We investigate the constraints on the anomalous WWH couplings through the process $e^{-}γ\to ν_{e} W^{-} H$. Considering incoming beam polarizations and the longitudinal and transverse polarization states of the final W boson, we find 95% confidence level limits on the anomalous coupling parameters with an integrated luminosity of 500 $fb^{-1}$ and $\sqrt{s}$= 0.5 and 1 TeV energy. We show that initial beam and final state polarizations highly improve the sensitivity limits of the anomalous coupling parameters $b_{W}$ and $β_{W}$.
We investigate the potential of single Higgs boson production at the LHC and at egamma mode of future linear electron-positron collider to probe non-standard HZgamma and Hgammagamma couplings. We consider the semi-elastic production process pp-> p gamma p-> pHqX at the LHC where q represents the quarks and X represents the remnants of one of the initial protons. We also study the single Higgs production through gamma e-> He in the egamma collision at the future linear collider. We perform a model-independent analysis and obtain the sensitivity bounds on the non-standard Higgs couplings for bot…
We combine the NNLO QCD description of Higgs boson production in association with an electroweak vector boson $V = W~{\rm or}~Z$ with a similarly-precise description of Higgs boson decays into a pair of massive $b$ quarks and with the anomalous couplings that modify interactions of the Higgs and electroweak vector bosons. The resulting numerical code provides the most advanced theoretical tool to investigate such anomalous couplings in the associated Higgs boson production process. We study the impact of anomalous couplings on fiducial cross sections and differential distributions and argue th…
Certain anomalous fermion-gauge boson couplings, such as the flavor diagonal anomalous color magnetic (CMDM) and color electric (CEDM) dipole moments of quarks are not fully gauge invariant under the SM. Restoring gauge invariance with an elementary Higgs doublet implies that they also contribute to Higgs boson production at the LHC and we study the corresponding constraints that can be placed on them. In a similar manner we study the constraints that can be placed on the $τ$-lepton anomalous magnetic moment, electric dipole moment, weak dipole moments, and dimension eight gluonic couplings at…
The measurement of the Higgs coupling to W bosons is an important program at the international linear collider (ILC) to search for the anomaly in the coupling to the gauge bosons. We study the sensitivity of ILC to the Higgs anomalous coupling to W bosons by using ZH->vvWW* events. In this article, we report the status of the study.
The LHC may be currently seeing the first hints of the Higgs boson. The dominant production mode for the Higgs at the LHC involves a top-quark loop. An accurate measurement of Higgs production cross-sections and decay widths can thus be used to obtain limits on anomalous top couplings. We find that such an exercise could potentially yield constraints that are stronger than those derived from low-energy observables as well as direct bounds expected from the top pair-production process.
Recent LHC experiments have revealed that Higgs is light. As an interesting candidate to accommodate light Higgs, in this paper we adopt the scenario of dimensional deconstruction, where Higgs is redarded as a pseudo-Nambu-Goldstone boson. Though the scenario is formulated in ordinary 4-dimensional space-time, it may also be interpreted as "latticized" gauge-Higgs unification. We point out that in this scenario Higgs interaction with matter field is anomalous, i.e. its coupling deviates from what the standard model predicts. The interplay between the periodicity of physical observables in the …
We combine NLO predictions with full top-quark mass dependence with approximate NNLO predictions for Higgs-boson pair production in gluon fusion, including the possibility to vary coupling parameters within a non-linear Effective Field Theory framework containing five anomalous couplings for this process. We study the impact of the anomalous couplings on various observables, and present Higgs-pair invariant-mass distributions at seven benchmark points characterising different $m_{hh}$ shape types. We also provide numerical coefficients for the approximate NNLO cross section as a function of th…
We investigate feasibility of efficient baryogenesis at the electroweak scale within the effective field theory framework based on a non-linear realisation of the electroweak gauge symmetry. In this framework the LHC Higgs boson is described by a singlet scalar field, which, therefore, admits new interactions. Assuming that Higgs couplings with the eletroweak gauge bosons are as in the Standard Model, we demonstrate that the Higgs cubic coupling and the CP-violating Higgs-top quark anomalous couplings alone may drive the a strongly first-order phase transition. The distinguished feature of thi…
The production of Higgs bosons in weak boson fusion has the second largest cross section among Higgs-production processes at the LHC. As such, this process plays an important role in detailed studies of Higgs interactions with vector bosons. In this paper we extend the available description of Higgs boson production in weak boson fusion by considering anomalous $HVV$ interactions and NNLO QCD radiative corrections at the same time. We find that, while leading order QCD predictions are too uncertain to allow for detailed studies of the anomalous couplings, NLO QCD results are sufficiently preci…
One of the most challenging tasks for future high-luminosity electron-positron colliders is to extract Higgs triple coupling. It was proposed that this can be carried out via the precisely measuring the cross section of ZH associated production up to $0.4\%$. In this paper, we example the possible heavy pollution from Higgs-top anomalous coupling. Our numerical results show that the pollution is small for $\sqrt{s}_{e^+e^-}= 240 GeV$. However for the higher energy collider, pollution is sizable, which should be taken into account. We further explored the possibility to measure CP-violated Higg…
In this paper, we put constraints on anomalous $\mathcal{CP}$-violating top-Higgs couplings using the currently available Higgs data and explore the prospect of measuring these couplings at 240 GeV TLEP. We find that the $\mathcal{CP}$-violating phase $ξ$ is currently limited in the range $|ξ|< 0.6π$ at 95\% C.L. and may be further constrained to $|ξ| <0.07π$ at TLEP. Under this consideration, we further investigate the observability of the scalar ($ξ=0$), pseudoscalar ($ξ=0.5π$) and mixed ($ξ=0.25π$) top-Higgs interactions through the channel $pp \to t(\to \ell^+ν_\ell b)h(\to b\overline{b})j…
The leading contributions from heavy new physics to Higgs processes can be captured in a model-independent way by dimension-six operators in an effective Lagrangian approach. We present a complete analysis of how these contributions affect Higgs couplings. Under certain well-motivated assumptions, we find that 8 CP-even plus 3 CP-odd Wilson coefficients parametrize the main impact in Higgs physics, as all other coefficients are constrained by non-Higgs SM measurements. We calculate the most relevant anomalous dimensions for these Wilson coefficients, which describe operator mixing from the hea…
Higgs boson production in association with a photon ($H$+$γ$) offers a promising channel to test the Higgs boson to photon coupling at various energy scales. Its potential sensitivity to anomalous couplings of the Higgs boson has not been explored with the proton-proton collision data. In this paper, we reinterpret the latest ATLAS $H$+$γ$ resonance search results within the Standard Model effective field theory (EFT) framework, using 36.1 fb$^{-1}$ of proton-proton collision data recorded with the ATLAS detector at $\sqrt{s}=13$ TeV. Constraints on the Wilson coefficients of dimension-six EFT…
We consider the production of a single top quark in association with a Higgs boson at the LHC. In particular, we compute the cross sections for the processes $ p p \to t h j$, $t h b$, $t h W$, $t h j j$, $t h j b$, $t h W j$, $t h W b$ in the presence of the anomalous $Wtb, WWh$ and $tth$ couplings. We find that the anomalous $Wtb$ and $tth$ couplings can enhance the cross sections significantly. We also analyze a few signatures and show that, if these couplings are indeed anomalous, then with enough data, one should be able to observe the production of the Higgs boson in association with sin…
We study the impact of dimension-six operators on single- and double-Higgs production rates via gluon fusion at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC). If the top-Yukawa coupling is modified by some new physics whose scale is of the TeV scale, its effect changes the cross sections of single-Higgs production $gg\to H$ and double-Higgs production $gg\to HH$ through the top-loop diagram. In particular, double-Higgs production can receive significant enhancement from the effective top-Yukawa coupling and the new dimension-five coupling $t{\bar t}HH$ which are induced by the dimension-six operator. Compar…
The process of gluon-initiated double Higgs production is sensitive to non-linear interactions of the Higgs boson. In the context of the Standard Model, studies of this process focused on the extraction of the Higgs trilinear coupling. In a general parametrization of New Physics effects, however, an even more interesting interaction that can be tested through this channel is the (ttbar hh) coupling. This interaction vanishes in the Standard Model and is a genuine signature of theories in which the Higgs boson emerges from a strongly-interacting sector. In this paper we perform a model-independ…
Very recently, the CMS collaboration has reported a search for the production for a Standard Model (SM) Higgs boson in association with a top quark pair ($t bar{t} H$) at the LHC Run-2 and a best fit $t bar{t} H$ yield of $1.5 pm 0.5$ times the SM prediction with an observed significance of $3.3 sigma$. We study a possibility of whether or not this observed deviation can be explained by anomalous Higgs Yukawa couplings with the top and the bottom quarks, along with the LHC Run-1 data for the Higgs boson properties. We find that anomalous top and bottom Yukawa couplings with about $0-20$% and $…
The recently observed Higgs like resonance at 125 GeV shows an enhanced rate in the diphoton channel, while being roughly consistent with the standard model expectation for the $WW^*$ and $ZZ^*$ channels. Such an enhancement is possible due to anomalous gauge boson couplings. We explore this feature within a minimal extension of the standard model, where a singlet scalar is introduced which also plays the role of the dark matter candidate. It is argued that such a minimal scenario, without new charged particles, can in principle lead to the desired enhancement of the diphoton rate via the indu…
We make a complete one loop calculation of the $tbW$ couplings in the Two Higgs Doublet Model. We evaluate both the anomalous couplings $g_L$ and $g_R$ as well as left handed and right handed component of $tbW$. The computation is done in the Feynman gauge using the on-shell scheme renormalization for the Standard Model wave functions and parameters. We first show that the relative corrections to these anomalous couplings are rather small in most regions of the parameter space. We then analyze the effects of these anomalous couplings on certain observables such as top quark polarization in sin…
We study the angular correlation and the amount of top quark polarization in the production of a higgs boson in association with a single top quark in the $t-$channel at the LHC. We also study the effect of anomalous $Wtb$ couplings on the angular correlation and on the production cross section of the process. The cross section and angular correlation is almost insensitive to the variation of the Higgs boson mass within 3 GeV. The robustness of the angular correlation against the center-of-mass energy of the proton-proton collision, the variation of parton distribution functions, and the chang…
We estimate model-independent bounds that could be obtained on the anomalous $ZZH$ vertex using polarization parameters of the $Z$ boson produced in the Higgstrahlung process at the LHC. We calculate the eight independent polarization parameters from the spin density matrix elements of the $Z$, which can probe underlying new physics contributions to $ZH$ production. By using the approach that connects these polarization observables to the coefficients in the angular distribution of the decay products of the $Z$, we estimate the limits on the anomalous $ZZH$ coupling that can be obtained at the…
We consider a $SU(3)_c \times SU(3)_L \times U(1)_X$ model from a $SU(6)$ Grand Unified Theory (GUT). In order to explain the anomalous magnetic moments of muon and electron, we introduce two new scalar triplets without vacuum expectation values (VEVs) so that the leading contributions to $Δa_μ$ and $Δa_{e}$ can avoid the suppression from small muon mass. In addition, the Higgs potential stability of this 331 model is studied by giving a set of sufficient conditions to ensure the boundedness from below of the potential.
We study phenomenological aspects of the MSSM with extra U(1) gauge symmetry. We find that the lightest Higgs boson mass can be increased up to 125 GeV, without introducing a large SUSY scale or large A-terms, in the frameworks of the CMSSM and gauge mediated SUSY breaking (GMSB) models. This scenario can simultaneously explain the discrepancy of the muon anomalous magnetic moment (muon g-2) at the 1 sigma level, in both of the frameworks, U(1)-extended CMSSM/GMSB models. In the CMSSM case, the dark matter abundance can also be explained.
We show how the $W$ boson polarization in the process of associated $W^{\pm}H$ production at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) can be used to constrain anomalous $WWH$ couplings. We first calculate the spin density matrix for the $W$ to linear order in the anomalous couplings, which are assumed to be small. We then evaluate angular asymmetries in the decay distributions of leptons produced in the decay of the $W$ and show how they can be used to measure the individual elements of the polarization tensor. We estimate the limits that can be placed on the anomalous $WWH$ couplings at a future run o…
