In this paper we give a new derivation of the generalized Luscher F-term formula from a summation over quadratic fluctuations around a given soliton. The result is very general providing that S-matrix is diagonal and is valid for arbitrary dispersion relation. We then apply this formalism to compute the leading finite size corrections to the giant magnon dispersion relation coming from quantum fluctuations.

Finite-Size Corrections of the $\mathbb{CP}^3$ Giant Magnons: the Lüscher terms

We compute classical and first quantum finite-size corrections to the recently found giant magnon solutions in two different subspaces of $\mathbb{CP}^3$. We use the Lüscher approach on the recently proposed exact S-matrix for $\mathcal{N}=6$ superconformal Chern-Simons theory. We compare our results with the string and algebraic curve computations and find agreement, thus providing a non-trivial test for the new $AdS_4/CFT_3$ correspondence within an integrability framework.

Real and Virtual Bound States in Lüscher Corrections for CP3 Magnons

We study classical and quantum finite-size corrections to giant magnons in AdS_4 x CP^3 using generalised Lüscher formulae. Lüscher F-terms are organised in powers of the exponential suppression factor exp(-Delta/2h)^m, and we calculate all terms in this series, matching one-loop algebraic curve results from our previous paper arXiv:1006.2174. Finite size giant magnons in the SU(2) x SU(2) sector of AdS_4 x CP^3

We use the algebraic curve and Luscher's mu-term to calculate the leading order finite size corrections to the dispersion relation of giant magnons in the SU(2) x SU(2) sector of AdS_4 x CP^3. We consider a single magnon as well as one magnon in each SU(2). In addition the algebraic curve computation is generalized to give the leading order correction for an arbitrary multi-magnon state in the SU(2) x SU(2) sector.

Three-point Correlation functions of Giant magnons with finite size

We compute holographic three-point correlation functions or structure constants of a zero-momentum dilaton operator and two (dyonic) giant magnon string states with a finite-size length in the semiclassical approximation. We show that the semiclassical structure constants match exactly with the three-point functions between two su(2) magnon single trace operators with finite size and the Lagrangian in the large 't Hooft coupling constant limit. A special limit J>>sqrt(lambda) of our result is compared with the relevant result based on the Lüscher corrections.

Wrapping interactions at strong coupling -- the giant magnon

We derive generalized Luscher formulas for finite size corrections in a theory with a general dispersion relation. For the AdS_5xS^5 superstring these formulas encode leading wrapping interaction effects. We apply the generalized mu-term formula to calculate finite size corrections to the dispersion relation of the giant magnon at strong coupling. The result exactly agrees with the classical string computation of Arutyunov, Frolov and Zamaklar. Finite-size Effect of the Dyonic Giant Magnons in N=6 super Chern-Simons Theory

We consider finite-size effects for the dyonic giant magnon of the type IIA string theory on AdS_4 x CP^3 by applying Luscher mu-term formula which is derived from a recently proposed S-matrix for the N=6 super Chern-Simons theory. We compute explicitly the effect for the case of a symmetric configuration where the two external bound states, each of A and B particles, have the same momentum p and spin J_2. We compare this with the classical string theory result which we computed by reducing it to the Neumann-Rosochatius system. The two results match perfectly.

Finite-Size Effects for Multi-Magnon States

We propose the generalized Luscher formula for multi-magnon states by which one can compute the finite-size correction to the energy of multi giant magnons at classical and one-loop levels. It is shown that the F-term of our formula is consistent with the exact finite-size spectrum of the sinh-Gordon model, and the mu-term agrees with the finite-size energy of magnon boundstate of the asymptotic Bethe Ansatz in the su(2) sector at strong coupling. Quantum Wrapped Giant Magnon

Understanding the finite-size corrections to the fundamental excitations of a theory is the first step towards completely solving for the spectrum in finite volume. We compute the leading exponential correction to the quantum energy of the fundamental excitation of the light-cone gauged string in AdS(5) x S(5), which is the giant magnon solution. Finite-size effects of beta-deformed AdS_5/CFT_4 at strong coupling

We compute both classical and quantum finite-size corrections at leading order in the strong coupling limit for the (dyonic) giant magnon in the Lunin-Maldacena background. Based on the exact S-martix conjectured for the deformed theory, we generalize the Luscher formula to include twisted boundary conditions and show that the results match with those derived both by finite-size classical solutions of the giant magnon and by algebraic curve analysis.

Finite-Size Effects for Dyonic Giant Magnons

We compute finite-size corrections to dyonic giant magnons in two ways. One is by examining the asymptotic behavior of helical strings of hep-th/0609026 as elliptic modulus k goes to unity, and the other is by applying the generalized Luscher formula for mu-term of arXiv:0708.2208 to the situation in which incoming particles are boundstates. By careful choice of poles in the su(2|2)^2-invariant S-matrix, we find agreement of the two results, which makes possible to predict the (leading) finite-size correction for dyonic giant magnons to all orders in the 't Hooft coupling.

Finite-size effect of η-deformed AdS_5 x S^5 at strong coupling

We compute Luscher corrections for a giant magnon in the η-deformed (AdS_5\times S^5)_η using the su(2|2)_q-invariant S-matrix at strong coupling and compare with the finite-size effect of the corresponding string state, derived previously. We find that these two results match and confirm that the su(2|2)_q-invariant S-matrix is describing world-sheet excitations of the η-deformed background.

Giant Magnons in Symmetric Spaces: Explicit N-soliton solutions for CP^n, SU(n) and S^n

Giant magnons are one of the main manifestations of integrability on the string theory side of the AdS/CFT correspondence. Motivated by the recent advances in their study, especially in the context of the string theory dual of ABJM theory, we present and prove explicit N-soliton solutions for the relevant CP^n, SU(n) and S^n sigma models. Semi-classical analysis of the inner product of Bethe states

We study the inner product of two Bethe states, one of which is taken on-shell, in an inhomogeneous XXX chain in the Sutherland limit, where the number of magnons is comparable with the length L of the chain and the magnon rapidities arrange in a small number of macroscopically large Bethe strings. The leading order in the large L limit is known to be expressed through a contour integral of a dilogarithm. Here we derive the subleading term. String theory in AdS_3 x S^3 x T^4 with mixed flux: semiclassical and 1-loop phase in the S-matrix

We present a semiclassical derivation of the tree-level and 1-loop dressing phases in the massive sector of string theory on AdS_3 x S^3 x T^4 supplemented by R-R and NS-NS 3-form fluxes. In analogy with the AdS_5 x S^5 case, we use the dressing method to obtain scattering solutions for dyonic giant magnons which allows us to determine the semiclassical bound-state S-matrix and its 1-loop correction.
