The detector for imaging of explosions (DIMEX) is in operation at the synchrotron radiation (SR) beam-line at VEPP-3 electron ring at Budker INP since 2002. DIMEX is based on one-coordinate gas ionization chamber filled with Xe-CO2(3:1) mixture at 7atm, and active Frisch-grid made of Gas Electron Multiplier (GEM). The detector has spatial resolution of ~0.2mm and dynamic range of ~100 that allows to realize the precision of signal measurement at a percent level. The frame rate can be tuned up to 8 MHz (125 ns per image) and up to 32 images can be stored in one shot. At present DIMEX is used with the X-ray beam from 2T wiggler that has ~20 keV average energy. Future possibility to install similar detector at the SR beam-line at VEPP-4 electron ring is discussed.

The progresses of the AEgIS collaboration on its way towards directly measuring the gravitational free-fall of neutral antimatter atoms are reviewed. The experiment recently developed the first pulsed cold antihydrogen source and entered in its second phase, aiming at the first proof-of-concept gravitational measurement. Several major upgrades were deployed, including an upgraded antihydrogen production scheme and a fully-redesigned antiproton trap. AEgIS re-started its operation on the new CERN ELENA decelerator in late 2021, capturing its first antiprotons and commissioning its new antiproto…
NEXT (Neutrino Experiment with a Xenon TPC) is an experimental program whose goals are to discover neutrinoless double beta decay using $^{136}$Xe in high pressure xenon TPCs with electroluminescent readout. In this paper, results from the NEXT-White detector, which is currently taking data at Laboratorio Subterráneo de Canfranc (LSC) will be reported. The prospects for the NEXT-100 apparatus, scheduled to start operations in 2020, as well as the plans to extend the technology to large and ultra-low background detectors needed to fully explore the inverse hierarchy of neutrino masses, will als…
The Jiangmen Underground Neutrino Observatory (JUNO) is a 20 kton liquid scintillator (LS) detector, which is planed to determine the neutrino mass hierarchy and measure the oscillation parameters at the sub-percent level using reactor antineutrino oscillations. As a multipurpose neutrino experiment, JUNO is also capable of measuring supernova burst neutrinos, the diffuse supernova neutrino background, geo-neutrinos, solar neutrinos and atmospheric neutrinos. After a brief introduction to the physics motivation, we discuss the status of the JUNO project, including the design of the detector sy…
We present an overview of the foundation, evolution, contributions and future prospects of the TEXONO Collaboration and its research programs on neutrino physics and dark matter searches at the Kuo-Sheng Reactor Neutrino Laboratory in Taiwan and, as a founding partner of the CDEX program, at the China Jinping Underground Laboratory in China.
This paper presents a review of the search for neutrinoless double beta decay of $^{76}$Ge with emphasis on the recent results of the GERDA experiment. It includes an appraisal of fifty years of research on this topic as well as an outlook.
The AWAKE Collaboration is pursuing a demonstration of proton-driven plasma wakefield acceleration of electrons. The AWAKE experiment uses a \SI{400}{GeV/c} proton bunch from the CERN SPS, with a rms bunch length of $6$-\SI{15}{cm}, to drive wakefields in a \SI{10}{m} long rubidium plasma with an electron density of $10^{14}-10^{15}$cm$^{-3}$. Since the drive bunch length is much longer than the plasma wavelength ($λ_{pe}<$\SI{3}{mm}) for these plasma densities, AWAKE performed experiments to prove that the long proton bunch self-modulates in the plasma (2017). The next step is to demonstrate …
We recently started to investigate how liquid-crystal on silicon (LCOS) spatial light modulator (SLM) would perform as programmable focal-plane phase mask (FPM) coronagraphs. Such "adaptive coronagraphs" could potentially help adapt to observing conditions, but also tackle specific science cases (e.g. binary stars). Active FPMs may play a role in the context of segmented telescope pupils, or to implement synchronous coherent differential imaging (CDI). We present a status update on this work, notably early broadband contrast performance results using our new Swiss Wideband Active Testbed for H…
The JSNS$^2$ experiment aims to search for the existence of neutrino oscillations with $Δ{\rm m}^2$ near 1 eV$^2$ at the J-PARC Materials and Life Science Experimental Facility (MLF). A 3~GeV 1~MW proton beam incident on a mercury target produces an intense neutrino source from muon decay at rest ($μ^{+} \rightarrow e^{+} + \barν_μ + ν_{e}$). The oscillation to be searched for is $\barν_μ$ to $\barν_{e}$, detected via the inverse beta decay~(IBD) reaction ($\barν_{e} + p \rightarrow e^{+} + n$), which is then distinctively tagged by gammas from neutron capture of Gadolinium. The first of two d…
Positronium is a unique laboratory to study fundamental symmetries in the Standard Model, reflection in space ($\mathcal{P}$), reversal in time ($\mathcal{T}$), charge conjugation ($\mathcal{C}$) and their combinations. The experimental limits on the $\mathcal{C}$, $\mathcal{CP}$ and $\mathcal{CPT}$ symmetries violation in the decays of positronium are still several orders of magnitude higher than the expectations. The newly constructed Jagiellonian Positron Emission Tomograph (J-PET) was optimized for the registration of photons from the electron-positron annihilations. It enables tests of di…
The China Dark Matter Experiment (CDEX) aims at direct searches of light Weakly Interacting Massive Particles (WIMPs) at the China Jinping Underground Laboratory (CJPL) with an overburden of about 2400m rock. Results from a prototype CDEX-1 994 g p-type Point Contact Germanium(pPCGe) detector are reported. Research programs are pursued to further reduce the physics threshold by improving hardware and data analysis. The CDEX-10 experiment with a pPCGe array of 10 kg target mass range is being tested. The evolution of CDEX program into "CDEX-1T Experiment" with ton-scale germanium detector array…
The MEG II experiment at Paul Scherrer Institute (PSI) in Switzerland aims to achieve a sensitivity of $6\times10^{-14}$ on the charged lepton flavor violating decay $μ^+\to e^+γ$. The current upper limit on this decay is $4.2\times10^{-13}$ at 90% Confidence Level (CL), set by the first phase of MEG. This result was achieved using the PSI muon beam at a reduced intensity, $3\times10^7~μ^+/$s, to keep the background at a manageable level. The upgraded detectors in MEG~II can cope with a higher intensity, thus the experiment is expected to run at a $7\times10^7~μ^+/$s intensity. The new low mas…
The E989 Muon $g-2$ Experiment at Fermilab aims to measure the muon magnetic anomaly, $a_μ$, to an unprecedented precision of 140 parts per billion (ppb), representing a four-fold improvement over the current best measurement, achieved at Brookhaven National Lab. There stands a greater than 3 standard deviations discrepancy between the Brookhaven measurement of $a_μ$ and the theoretical value predicted using the Standard Model. The Fermilab experiment seeks to either resolve or confirm this discrepancy, which is suggestive of new physics interactions. To achieve the E989 target precision, the …
The search for neutrinoless double beta ($0νββ$) decay is the best way to test lepton number violation and Majorana nature of neutrinos. One of the most promising techniques to discover $0νββ$ decay is by operating High-Purity Ge detectors enriched in $^{76}$Ge. The current generation of $^{76}$Ge experiments, GERDA and MAJORANA, lead the field in the achieved energy resolution and ultra-low background. These are two of the most important characteristics for sensitive searches of this undiscovered decay. The next generation of $0νββ$ decay experiments requires more mass and further reduction o…
