The Fermi-point scenario of emergent gravity has the following consequences: gravity emerges together with fermionic and bosonic matter; emergent fermionic matter consists of massless Weyl fermions; emergent bosonic matter consists of gauge fields; Lorentz symmetry persists well above the Planck energy; space-time is naturally 4-dimensional; Universe is naturally flat; cosmological constant is naturally small or zero; underlying physics is based on discrete symmetries; `quantum gravity' cannot be obtained by quantization of Einstein equations; there is no contradiction between quantum mechanics and gravity; etc.

Fermi-point scenario for emergent gravity

Let us assume that gravity is an emergent low-energy phenomenon arising from a topologically stable defect in momentum space -- the Fermi point. What are the consequences? Recently Horava proposed a model for gravity which is described by the Einstein action in the infrared, but lacks the Lorentz invariance in the high-energy region where it experiences the anisotropic scaling. We test this proposal using two condensed matter examples of emergent gravity: acoustic gravity and gravity emerging in the fermionic systems with Fermi points. Fermions and Emergent Noncommutative Gravity

Fermions coupled to Yang-Mills matrix models are studied from the point of view of emergent gravity. We show that the simple matrix model action provides an appropriate coupling for fermions to gravity, albeit with a non-standard spin connection. Integrating out the fermions in a nontrivial geometrical background induces indeed the Einstein-Hilbert action and a dilaton-like term, at least for on-shell geometries. Emergent Weyl spinors in multi-fermion systems

In Ref. \cite{Horava2005} Hořava suggested, that the multi - fermion many-body system with topologically stable Fermi surfaces may effectively be described (in a vicinity of the Fermi surface) by the theory with coarse-grained fermions. Emergent inflation from a Nambu--Jona-Lasinio mechanism in gravity with non-dynamical torsion

We discuss how inflation can emerge from a four-fermion interaction induced by torsion. Inflation can arise from coupling torsion to Standard Model fermions, without any need of introducing new scalar particles beyond the Standard Model. Within this picture, the inflaton field can be a composite field of the SM-particles and arises from a Nambu-Jona-Lasinio mechanism in curved space-time, non-minimally coupled with the Ricci scalar. Emergent gravity and D-brane adiabatic dynamics: emergent Lorentz connection

We explore emergent geometry of the spacetime at the microscopic scale by adiabatic transport of a quasi-coherent state of a fermionic string, with quantum spacetime described by the matrix theory (BFSS matrix model).
