Using coherent and squeezed state formalisms of quantum optics for a minimally coupled non-classical inflaton in the FRW mertic is studied, in semiclassical theory of gravity. The leading order solution for the semiclassical Einstein equations in the coherent, squeezed and squeezed vacuum states are obtained perturbatively and are exhibit powerlaw expansion behaviour. The validity of the semiclassical theory is examined in the squeezed vacuum state in the oscillatory phase of the inflaton. The semiclassical theory in the oscillatory phase of the non-classical inflaton holds only if the associated squeezing parameter is much less compared to unity. Quantum fluctuations of the inflaton is also examined in coherent and squeezed state formalisms.
We study particle production of coherently oscillating inflaton in the semiclassical theory of gravity by representing inflaton in coherent and squeezed state formalisms. A comparative study of the inflaton in classical gravity with coherent state inflaton in semiclassical gravity is also presented.
We investigate the general asymptotic behaviour of Friedman-Robertson-Walker (FRW) models with an inflaton field, scalar-tensor FRW cosmological models and diagonal Bianchi-IX models by means of Liapunov's method. This method provides information not only about the asymptotic stability of a given equilibrium point but also about its basin of attraction. This cannot be obtained by the usual methods found in the literature, such as linear stability analysis or first order perturbation techniques. Moreover, Liapunov's method is also applicable to non-autonomous systems. We use this advantadge to …
We derive the renormalized equations of motion and the renormalized energy-momentum tensor for fermions coupled to a spatially homogeneous scalar field (inflaton) in a flat FRW geometry. The fermion back reaction to the metric and to the inflaton field is formulated in one-loop approximation. Having determined the infinite counter terms in an $\bar{MS}$ scheme we formulate the finite terms in a form suitable for numerical computation. We comment on the trace anomaly which is inferred from the standard analysis. We also address the problem of initial singularities and determine the Bogoliubov t…
A thermal squeezed state representation of inflaton is constructed for a flat Friedmann-Robertson-Walker background metric and the phenomenon of particle creation is examined during the oscillatory phase of inflaton, in the semiclassical theory of gravity. An approximate solution to the semiclassical Einstein equation is obtained in thermal squeezed state formalism by perturbatively and is found obey the same power-law expansion as that of classical Einstein equation. In addition to that the solution shows oscillatory in nature except on a particular condition. It is also noted that, the coher…
Using a recently introduced formalism we discuss slow-roll inflaton from Kaluza-Klein theory without the cylinder condition. In particular, some examples corresponding to polynomic and hyperbolic $ϕ$-potentials are studied. We find that the evolution of the fifth coordinate should be determinant for both, the evolution of the early inflationary universe and the quantum fluctuations.
In this study, we use a single-mode squeezed thermal vacuum state formalism and examine the nature of a massive homogeneous scalar field, minimally coupled to the gravity in the framework of semiclassical gravity in the Bianchi type-I universe. We have obtained an estimate leading solution to the semiclassical Einstein equation for the Bianchi type-I universe shows, each scale factor in its respective direction obeys t^(2/3) power-law expansion. The mechanism of the nonclassical thermal cosmological particle production is also analyzed in the Bianchi type-I universe.
The energy and time scales during the inflationary stage of the universe calls for an out of equilibrium quantum field treatment. Moreover, the high energy densities involved make necessary the use of non-perturbative approaches as large N and Hartree methods. We start these lectures by introducing such non-perturbative out of equilibrium methods in cosmological universes. We discuss the renormalization procedure and the choice of initial conditions. We then study the nonlinear dynamics of quantum fields in matter and radiation dominated FRW and de Sitter universes. For a variety of initial co…
We compute the fully renormalized one-loop effective action for two interacting and self-interacting scalar fields in FRW space-time. We then derive and solve the quantum corrected equations of motion both for fields that dominate the energy density (such as an inflaton) and fields that do not (such as a subdominant curvaton). In particular, we introduce quantum corrected Friedmann equations that determine the evolution of the scale factor. We find that in general, gravitational corrections are negligible for the field dynamics. For the curvaton-type fields this leaves only the effect of the f…
The nonequilibrium dynamics of quantum fields is studied in inflationary cosmology, with particular emphasis on applications to the problem of post-inflation reheating. The Schwinger-Keldysh closed-time-path (CTP) formalism is utilized along with the two-particle-irreducible (2PI) effective action in order to obtain coupled, nonperturbative equations for the mean field and variance in a general curved background spacetime. For a model consisting of a quartically self-interacting O(N) field theory (with unbroken symmetry) in spatially flat FRW spacetime, the dynamics of the mean field is studie…
We present a detailed and systematic analysis of the nonperturbative, nonequilibrium dynamics of a quantum field in the reheating phase of inflatonary cosmology, including full back reactions of the quantum field on the curved spacetime, as well as the fluctuations on the mean field. We use the O(N) field theory with unbroken symmetry in a spatially flat FRW universe to study the dynamics of the inflaton in the post-inflaton, preheating stage. Oscillations of the inflaton's zero mode induce parametric amplification of quantum fluctuations, resulting in a rapid transfer of energy to the inhomog…
We examine the full nonlinear dynamics of closed FRW universes in the framework of D-branes formalism. Friedmann equations contain additional terms arising from the bulk-brane interaction that provide a concrete model for nonsingular bounces in the early phase of the universe. We construct nonsingular cosmological scenarios sourced with perfect fluids and a massive inflaton field which are past eternal, oscillory and may emerge into an inflationary phase due to nonlinear resonance mechanisms. Oscillatory behaviour becomes metastable when the system is driven into a resonance window of the para…
We investigate a bounce inflation model with a graceful exit into the Friedmann-Robertson-Walker (FRW) decelerated Universe within $f(T)$ gravity framework, where $T$ is the torsion scalar in the teleparallelism. We study the cosmic thermal evolution, the model predicts a supercold Universe during the precontraction phase, which is consistent with the requirements of the slow-roll models, while it performs a reheating period by the end of the contraction with a maximum temperature just below the grand unified theory (GUT) temperature. However, it matches the radiation temperature of the hot bi…
The physics during the inflationary stage of the universe is of quantum nature involving extremely high energy densities. Moreover, it is out of equilibrium on a fastly expanding dynamical geometry. We present in these lectures non-perturbative out of equilibrium field theoretical methods in cosmological universes. We then study the non-linear dynamics of quantum fields in matter and radiation dominated FRW and de Sitter universes. We investigate the explosive particle production due to spinodal instabilities and parametric amplification in FRW and deSitter universes with and without symmetry b…
While loop quantum cosmology (LQC) predicts a robust quantum bounce of the background evolution of a Friedmann-Robertson-Walker (FRW) spacetime prior to the standard slow-roll inflation, whereby the big bang singularity is resolved, there are several different quantization procedures to cosmological perturbations, for instance, {\em the deformed algebra, dressed metric, and hybrid quantizations}. This paper devotes to study the quantum bounce effects of primordial perturbations in the hybrid approach. The main discrepancy of this approach is the effective positive mass at the quantum bounce fo…
We consider the FRW cosmological model in which the matter content of universe (playing a role of inflaton or quintessence) is given by a novel generalization of the massive scalar field. The latter is a scalar version of the recently introduced Nonlinear Field Space Theory (NFST), where physical phase space of a given field is assumed to be compactified at large energies. For our analysis we choose the simple case of a field with the spherical phase space and endow it with the generalized Hamiltonian analogous to the XXZ Heisenberg model, normally describing a system of spins in condensed mat…
