The most recent development of the quark-meson coupling (QMC) model, in which the effect of the mean scalar field in-medium on the hyperfine interaction is also included self-consistently, is used to compute the properties of finite hypernuclei. The calculations for $Λ$ and $Ξ$ hypernuclei are of comparable quality to earlier QMC results without the additional parameter needed there. Even more significantly, the additional repulsion associated with the increased hyperfine interaction in-medium completely changes the predictions for $Σ$ hypernuclei. Whereas in the earlier work they were bound by an amount similar to $Λ$ hypernuclei, here they are unbound, in qualitative agreement with the experimental absence of such states. The equivalent non-relativistic potential felt by the $Σ$ is repulsive inside the nuclear interior and weakly attractive in the nuclear surface, as suggested by the analysis of $Σ$-atoms.
Two approximate formulae are given for the binding energies in Lambda-hypernuclei and light nuclei by means of the (reduced) Poeschl-Teller and the Gaussian central potentials. Those easily programmable formulae combine the eigenvalues of the transformed Jacobi eigenequation and an application of the hypervirial theorems.
In this paper, we calculated the binding energy per baryon of the $Λ$ hypernuclei systemically, using the relativistic mean field theory (RMF) in a statistic frame. Some resemble properties are found among most of the hypernuclei found in experiments. The data show that a $Λ$ hypernucleus will be more stable, if it is composed of a $Λ$ hyperon adding to a stable normal nuclear core, or a $Λ$ hyperon replacing a neutron in a stable normal nuclear core. According to our calculations, existences of some new $Λ$ hypernuclei are predicted under the frame of RMF.
Recent experiments have presented more accurate data on the $ΛΛ$-binding energies of a few $ΛΛ$- hypernuclei. This is important as the $ΛΛ$- bond energies ($ΔB_{ΛΛ}$) of double-$Λ$ hypernuclei provide a measure of the in-medium strength of the $ΛΛ$ interaction. A mass formula, optimized with the newly available $ΛΛ$ binding energy data, is used to estimate the binding energy and bond energy over a wide range of hypernuclei. The $ΔB_{ΛΛ}$ values calculated with this mass formula are in good agreement with the experimental data, predictions of the quark mean-field (QMF) model and the relativisti…
Background: The calculation of the hyperon binding energy in hypernuclei is crucial to understanding the interaction between hyperons and nucleons. Purpose: We assess the relative importance of two- and three-body hyperon-nucleon force by studying the effect of the hyperon-nucleon-nucleon interaction in closed shell Λ-hypernuclei from A=5 to 91. Methods: The Λ-binding energy has been calculated using the auxiliary field diffusion Monte Carlo method for the first time, to study light and heavy hypernuclei within the same model. Results: Our results show that including a three-body component in …
s- and p-wave $Λ$ single-particle enrgies are obtained for a variety of $Λ$ hypernuclei from the relevant self-energy constructed within the framework of a perturbative many-body approach. Results are presented for present realistic hyperon-nucleon interactions such as Jülich B and Nijmegen SC models. Effects of the non-locality and energy-dependence of the self-energy on the bound states are investigated.
We study the binding of hypernuclei based on the latest version of quark-meson coupling model, and estimate the phtoproduction cross sections for the $^{12}$C($γ,K^+$)$^{12}_Λ$B reaction using the bound $Λ$ spinors obtained in the model.
We study the properties of double-$Λ$ hypernuclei in the relativistic mean-field theory, which has been successfully used for the description of stable and unstable nuclei. With the meson-hyperon couplings determined by the experimental binding energies of single-$Λ$ hypernuclei, we present a self-consistent calculation of double-$Λ$ hypernuclei in the relativistic mean-field theory, and discuss the influence of hyperons on the nuclear core. The contribution of two mesons with dominant strange quark components (scalar $σ^*$ and vector $ϕ$) to the $ΛΛ$ binding energy of double-$Λ$ hypernuclei i…
We analyze the effects of $δ-$ meson on hypernuclei within the frame-work of relativistic mean field theory. The $δ-$ meson is included into the Lagrangian for hypernuclei. The extra nucleon-meson coupling ($g_δ$) affects the every piece of physical observables, like binding energy, radii and single particle energy of hypernuclei. The lambda mean field potential is investigated which is consistent with other predictions. Flipping of single particle energy levels are observed with the strength of $g_δ$ in the considered hypernuclei as well as normal nuclei. The spin-orbit potentials are observe…
New Faddeev-Yakubovsky calculations for light Lambda-Lambda hypernuclei are presented in order to assess the self consistency of the Lambda-Lambda hypernuclear binding-energy world data and the implied strength of the Lambda-Lambda interaction, in the wake of recent experimental reports on Lambda-Lambda-4H and Lambda-Lambda-6He. Using Gaussian soft-core simulations of Nijmegen one-boson-exchange model interactions, the Nijmegen soft-core model NSC97 simulations are found close to reproducing the recently reported binding energy of Lambda-Lambda-6He, but not those of other species. For stranger…
Recent experiments on production of Lambda-Lambda hypernuclei have renewed interest in extracting the Lambda-Lambda interaction from the few events identified since the inception of this field forty years ago. Few-body calculations relating to this issue are reviewed, particularly with respect to the possibility that A=4 marks the onset of Lambda-Lambda binding in nuclei. The Nijmegen soft-core model potentials NSC97 qualitatively agree with the strength of the Lambda-Lambda interaction deduced from the newly determined binding energy of Lambda-Lambda-6He. Applying the extended NSC97 model to …
In nuclear reactions of high energy one can simultaneously produce a lot of hypernuclei after the capture of hyperons by nuclear residues. We consider statistical disintegration of such hypernuclear systems and the connection of fragment production with the binding energies of hyperons. It is demonstrated that the hyperon binding energies can be effectively evaluated from the yields of different isotopes of hypernuclei. The double ratio method is suggested for this purpose. The advantage of this procedure is its universality and the possibility to involve many different isotopes. This method c…
The binding energies of baryonic systems with quantum number charm or beauty and neutron excess (or large isospin) are estimated within the bound state version of the chiral topological soliton model. The procedure of the skyrmion rescaling is applied which is of importance for large enough flavor excitation energies (for heavy flavors). Inclusion of the flavor excitation energies into the minimization of the total mass of the baryonic state naturally leads to its decrease, and this effect increases with increasing flavor mass. Our results concerning the binding energies turned out to be partl…
The $Λ$ separation energy for $Λ$-hypernuclei, denoted $B_Λ$, measured in 1967, 1968, and 1973 are recalibrated using the current best mass estimates for particles and nuclei. The recalibrated $B_Λ$ are systematically larger (except in the case of $^6_Λ$He) than the original published values by about 100 keV. The effect of this level of recalibration is very important for light hypernuclei, especially for the hypertriton. The early $B_Λ$ values measured in 1967, 1968, and 1973 are widely used in theoretical research, and the new results provide better constraints on the conclusions from such s…
We fit the $^1 S_0 ΛΛ$ interaction in the nuclear medium to the masses of the experimentally known double-$Λ$ hypernuclei: $^{\phantom{6}6}_{ΛΛ}$He, $^{10}_{ΛΛ}$Be and $^{13}_{ΛΛ}$B. We derive this effective interaction from OBE Jülich $ΛΛ$-type potentials and using both Hartree-Fock and variational approaches. We find that the inclusion of $ΛΛ$ correlations in the variational scheme leads to significant differences and a better understanding of the dynamical features of the system. We investigate the sensitivity of the binding energies and the mesonic decay widths of the above double-$Λ$ hype…
The $Λ$-$Λ$ effective interaction, in the channel $L=S=0$, in the nuclear medium is fitted to the available binding energies, $B_{ΛΛ}$, of double $Λ$ hypernuclei: $^{6}_{ΛΛ}$He, $^{10}_{ΛΛ}$Be and $^{13}_{ΛΛ}$B. The mesonic decay of these hypernuclei is also investigated. Finally, this effective interaction is used to predict the binding energies and mesonic decays widths of heavier double $Λ$ hypernuclei.
Configuration space Faddeev calculations are performed for the binding energy of Lambda-Lambda-6He and Lambda-9Be bound states, here considered as alpha-Lambda-Lambda and alpha-alpha-Lambda clusters respectively, in order to study the dependence of the calculated binding energy on the alpha-Lambda potential input. For Lambda-Lambda-6He, using realistic interactions, the uncertainty in extracting the Lambda-Lambda S=L=0 interaction strength does not exceed 0.1 MeV, which is a fraction of the order of magnitude derived for other theoretical uncertainties. For Lambda-9Be, the dependence of the ca…
We first determine the Lambda-N S-wave phase shifts so as to reproduce the experimental Lambda separation energies of A=3, 4 Lambda-hypernuclei, and then construct three phase-equivalent Lambda-N potentials with different central repulsion. By the stochastic variational method with correlated Gaussian basis we perform an extensive calculation of ab initio type for the hypernuclei of up to A=6. The binding energies and the sizes of the Lambda-hypernuclei are very insensitive to the type of the phase-equivalent Lambda-N potentials. We use two different Lambda-Lambda potentials which both reprodu…
We investigate the existence of bound $Ξ$ \break states in systems with $A=4-7$ baryons using the Jacobi NCSM approach in combination with chiral NN and $Ξ$N interactions. We find three shallow bound states for the NNN$Ξ$ system (with $(J^π,T)=(1^+,0)$, $(0^+,1)$ and $(1^+,1)$) with quite similar binding energies. The $^5_Ξ\mathrm{H}(\frac{1}{2}^+,\frac{1}{2})$ and $^7_Ξ\mathrm{H}(\frac{1}{2}^+,\frac{3}{2})$ hypernuclei are also clearly bound with respect to the thresholds $^4\mathrm{He} + Ξ$ and $^6\mathrm{He} +Ξ$, respectively. The binding of all these $Ξ$ systems is predominantly due to the…
The single-$Ξ^-$ hypernuclei are studied using a quark mean field model. At the quark level, the $Ξ^-$ hyperon is composed of one $d$ quark and two $s$ quarks, which are confined by the harmonic oscillator potentials. In the case of hadrons, the baryons interact with each other by exchanging $σ, ~ω$, and $ρ$ mesons between quarks in different baryons. The single-$Ξ^-$ binding energies of $Ξ$ hypernuclei are investigated from $\ce{_{Ξ^{-}}^{12}Be}$ to $\ce{^{208}_{Ξ^-}Tl}$ using different parameter sets, which are determined by the ground-state properties of several stable nuclei and the empiri…
A nonperturbative field theoretic calculation has been made for the $s$-shell hypernuclei. Here we dress the $Λ$- and $Σ$- hypernuclei with off-mass shell pion pairs. The analysis replaces the scalar isoscalar potential by quantum coherent states. The binding energies of $^{4+nΛ}$He $(n=0,1,2)$ agree quite well with the RMF result of Greiner. The experimental binding energies of $^4$He and $^3$He are reasonably well reproduced in our calculation. A satisfactory description of the relevant experimental $Λ$- and $Σ$- separation energies has been obtained.
The binding energies of neutron rich strangeness $S=-1$ hypernuclei are estimated in the chiral soliton approach using the bound state rigid oscillator version of the SU(3) quantization model. Additional binding of strange hypernuclei in comparison with nonstrange neutron rich nuclei takes place at not large values of atomic (baryon) numbers, $A=B\leq\sim 10$. This effect becomes stronger with increasing isospin of nuclides, and for "nuclear variant" of the model with rescaled Skyrme constant $e$. Total binding energies of (Lambda)He-8 and recently discovered (Lambda)H-6 satisfactorily agree w…
The $ΞN$ interaction is investigated in the quark mean-field (QMF) model based on recent observables of the $Ξ^-+^{14}\rm{N}$ ($_{Ξ^-}^{15}\rm{C}$) system. The experimental data about the binding energy of $1p$-state $Ξ^-$ hyperon in $_{Ξ^-}^{15}\rm{C}$ hypernuclei at KISO, IBUKI, E07-T011, E176-14-03-35 events are conflated as $B_{Ξ^-}(1p)=1.14\pm0.11$ MeV. With this constraint, the coupling strengths between the vector meson and $Ξ$ hyperon are fixed in three QMF parameter sets. Meanwhile, the $Ξ^-$ binding energy of $1s$ state in $_{Ξ^-}^{15}\rm{C}$ is predicted as $B_{Ξ^-}(1s)=5.66\pm0.38$…
We present results of hypernuclei calculated in the latest quark-meson coupling (QMC) model, where the effect of the mean scalar field in-medium on the one-gluon exchange hyperfine interaction, is also included self-consistently. The extra repulsion associated with this increased hyperfine interaction in-medium completely changes the predictions for Σ hypernuclei. Whereas in the earlier version of QMC they were bound by an amount similar to Λ hypernuclei, they are unbound in the latest version of QMC, in qualitative agreement with the experimental absence of such states.
Properties of hypernuclei $_{ΛΛ}^5$H and $_{ΛΛ}^5$He are studied in a two-channel approach with explicit treatment of coupling of channels ^3\text{Z}+Λ+Λand α+Ξ. Diagonal ΛΛand coupling ΛΛ-ΞN interactions are derived within G-matrix procedure from Nijmegen meson-exchange models. Bond energy ΔB_{ΛΛ} in $_{ΛΛ}^5$He exceeds significantly that in $_{ΛΛ}^5$H due to the channel coupling. Diagonal Ξαattraction amplifies the effect, which is sensitive also to Λ-core interaction. The difference of the ΔB_{ΛΛ} values can be an unambiguous signature of the ΛΛ-ΞN coupling in ΛΛhypernuclei. However, improv…
The quark mean-field (QMF) model is applied to study the single $Λ^+_c$ hypernuclei. The charm baryon, $Λ^+_c$, is constructed by three constituent quarks, $u, ~d$, and $c$, confined by central harmonic oscillator potentials. The confinement potential strength of charm quark is determined by fitting the experimental masses of charm baryons, $Λ^+_c,~Σ^+_c$, and $Ξ^{++}_{cc}$. The effects of pions and gluons are also considered to describe the baryons at the quark level. The baryons in $Λ^+_c$ hypernuclei interact with each other through exchanging the $σ,~ω$, and $ρ$ mesons between the quarks c…
We extend the relativistic point coupling model to single-$Λ$ hypernuclei. For this purpose, we add $N$-$Λ$ effective contact couplings to the model Lagrangian, and determine the parameters by fitting to the experimental data for $Λ$ binding energies. Our model well reproduces the data over a wide range of mass region although some of our interactions yield the reverse ordering of the spin-orbit partners from that of nucleons for heavy hypernuclei. The consistency of the interaction with the quark model predictions is also discussed.
We extend our Skyrme-Hartree-Fock (SHF) approach, which was used earlier to describe successfully the single-$Λ$ hypernuclei, to investigate the binding and the $ΛΛ$ bond energies of the double-$Λ$ hypernuclei. The nucleon-nucleon ($NN$) and $Λ$-nucleon ($ΛN$) interactions are taken from our previous study. For the $ΛΛ$ force several Skyrme-like potentials available in the literature have been used. We discuss the sensitivity of the calculated $ΛΛ$ binding and bond energies to the $ΛΛ$ and $ΛN$ force parameters. It is found that the existing $ΛΛ$ hypernuclear data do not allow to distinguish b…
Based on relativistic mean field (RMF) models, we study finite $Λ$-hypernuclei and massive neutron stars. The effective $N$-$N$ interactions PK1 and TM1 are adopted, while the $N$-$Λ$ interactions are constrained by reproducing the binding energy of $Λ$-hyperon at $1s$ orbit of $^{40}_Λ$Ca. It is found that the $Λ$-meson couplings follow a simple relation, indicating a fixed $Λ$ potential well for symmetric nuclear matter at saturation densities, i.e., around $V_Λ = -29.786$ MeV. With those interactions, a large mass range of $Λ$-hypernuclei can be well described. Furthermore, the masses of PS…
We investigate the properties of the single Lambda hypernuclei within a Skyrme-Hartree-Fock (SHF) model. The parameters of the Skyrme type effective lambda-nucleon (Lambda N) interaction are obtained by fitting to the experimental Lambda binding energies of hypernuclei with masses spanning a wide range of the periodic table. Alternative parameter sets are also obtained by omitting nuclei below mass number 16 from the fitting procedure. The SHF calculations are performed for the binding energies of the Lambda single-particle states over a full mass range using the best fit parameter sets obtain…
An accurate assessment of the hyperon-nucleon interaction is of great interest in view of recent observations of very massive neutron stars. The challenge is to build a realistic interaction that can be used over a wide range of masses and in infinite matter starting from the available experimental data on the binding energy of light hypernuclei. To this end, accurate calculations of the hyperon binding energy in a hypernucleus are necessary. We present a quantum Monte Carlo study of $Λ$ and $ΛΛ$ hypernuclei up to $A=91$. We investigate the contribution of two- and three-body $Λ$-nucleon force…
The significance of $ΛΛ$-$Ξ$N coupling in double-$Λ$ hypernuclei has been studied. The Pauli suppression effect due to this coupling in $^6_{ΛΛ}$He has been found to be 0.43 MeV for the coupling strength of the NSC97e potential. This indicates that the free-space $ΛΛ$ interaction is stronger by about $5^{\circ}$ phase shift than that deduced from the empirical data of $^6_{ΛΛ}$He without including the Pauli suppression effect. In $^5_{ΛΛ}$He and $^5_{ΛΛ}$H, an attractive term arising from $ΛΛ$-$Ξ$N conversion is enhanced by the formation of an alpha particle in intermediate $Ξ$ states. Accordi…
We generalized our approach to the hypernuclei with $A=B=3$ containing one charm or one bottom quark. We derive the relativistic nine-quark equations using the dispersion relation technique. The hypernuclei as the system of interacting quarks and gluons are considered. The relativistic nine-quark amplitudes of hypernuclei, including the constituent quarks with the charm or bottom are calculated. The approximate solutions of these equations are obtained using a method based on the extraction of leading singularities of the amplitudes. The poles of the multiquark amplitudes allow us to determine…
We investigate $S=-1$ and $-2$ hypernuclei with $A=4-8$ employing the Jacobi-NCSM approach and in combination with baryon-baryon interactions derived within the frame work of chiral effective field theory. The employed interactions are transformed using the similarity renormalization group (SRG) so that the low- and high-momentum states are decoupled, and, thereby, convergence of the binding energies with respect to model space can be significantly speeded up. Such an evolution is however only approximately unitary when the so-called SRG induced higher-body forces are omitted. We first explore …
The structure of the isodoublet hypernuclei, $^{10}_Λ$B and $^{10}_Λ$Be within the framework of an $α+α+Λ+N$ four-body cluster model is studied. Interactions between the constituent subunits are determined so as to reproduce reasonably well the observed low-energy properties of the $αα$, $αN$, $αΛ$, $ααΛ$ and $ααN$ subsystems. Furthermore, the two-body $ΛN$ interaction is adjusted so as to reproduce the $0^+$-$1^+$ splitting of $^4_Λ$H. The $Λ$ binding energies of $^{10}_Λ$B and $^{10}_Λ$Be are 8.76 MeV and 8.94 MeV, respectively. The energy splitting of the $1^-$-$2^-$ levels in $^{10}_Λ$B is…
The large charge symmetry breaking (CSB) implied by the $Λ$ binding energy difference $ΔB^{4}_Λ(0^+_{\rm g.s.})\equiv B_Λ(_Λ^4$He)$-$$B_Λ(_Λ^4$H) = 0.35$\pm$0.06 MeV of the $A=4$ mirror hypernuclei ground states, determined from emulsion studies, has defied theoretical attempts to reproduce it in terms of CSB in hyperon masses and in hyperon-nucleon interactions, including one pion exchange arising from $Λ-Σ^0$ mixing. Using a schematic strong-interaction $ΛN\leftrightarrowΣN$ coupling model developed by Akaishi and collaborators for $s$-shell $Λ$ hypernuclei, we revisit the evaluation of CSB …
We study tensor and pairing effects on the quadruple deformation of neon isotopes based on a deformed Skyrme-Hartree-Fock model with BCS approximation for the pairing channel. We extend the Skyrme-Hartree-Fock formalism for the description of single- and double-lambda hypernuclei adopting two different hyperon-nucleon interactions. It is found that the interplay of pairing and tensor interactions is crucial to derive the deformations in several neon isotopes. Especially, the shapes of $^{26,30}$Ne are studied in details in comparisons with experimentally observed shapes. Furthermore the deform…
We report on ab-initio NCSM calculations of the A=4 mirror Lambda hypernuclei Lambda-4H and Lambda-4He, using the Bonn-Juelich LO chiral EFT YN potentials plus a CSB Lambda0--Sigma0 mixing vertex. In addition to reproducing rather well the 0+ (g.s.) and 1+ (exc.) binding energies, these four-body calculations demonstrate for the first time that the observed CSB splitting of mirror levels, reaching hundreds of keV for 0+ (g.s.), can be reproduced using realistic theoretical interaction models, although with a non-negligible momentum cutoff dependence. Our results are discussed in relation to re…
The structure of the T=1 iso-triplet hypernuclei, $^7_Λ$He, $^7_Λ$Li and $^7_Λ$Be within the framework of an $α+Λ+N+N$ four-body cluster model is studied. Interactions between the constituent subunits are determined so as to reproduce reasonably well the observed low-energy properties of the $αN$, $αΛ$, $αNN$ and $αΛN$ subsystems. Furthermore, the two-body $ΛN$ interaction is adjusted so as to reproduce the $0^+$-$1^+$ splitting of $^4_Λ$H. Also a phenomenological $ΛN$ charge symmetry breaking(CSB) interaction is introduced. The $Λ$ binding energy of the ground state in $^7_Λ$He is predicted t…

We propose a novel method for low-lying states of hypernuclei based on the particle-rotor model, in which hypernuclear states are constructed by coupling the hyperon to low-lying states of the core nucleus. In contrast to the conventional particle-rotor model, we employ a microscopic approach for the core states, that is, the generator coordinate method (GCM) with the particle number and angular momentum projections. We apply this microscopic particle-rotor model to $^9_Λ$Be employing a point-coupling version of the relativistic mean-field Lagrangian. A reasonable agreement with the experiment…
We study the production of $Ξ^-$-hypernuclei, $^{12}_{Ξ^{-}}$Be and $^{28}_{Ξ^{-}}$Mg, via the ($K^-,K^+$) reaction within a covariant effective Lagrangian model, employing the bound $Ξ^-$ and proton spinors calculated by the latest quark-meson coupling model. The present treatment yields the $0^\circ$ differential cross sections for the formation of simple s-state $Ξ^-$ particle-hole states peak at a beam momentum around 1.0 GeV/c with a value in excess of 1 $μ$b.
We calculate the binding energy of two $Λ$ hyperons bound to a nuclear core within the relativistic mean field theory. The starting point is a two-body relativistic equation of the Breit type suggested by the RMFT, and corrected for the two-particle interaction. We evaluate the 2 $Λ$ correlation energy and estimate the contribution of the $σ^*$ and $Φ$ mesons, acting solely between hyperons, to the bond energy $Δ{B_{ΛΛ}}$ of $^6_{ΛΛ}He$, $^{10}_{ΛΛ}Be$ and $^{13}_{ΛΛ}B$. Predictions of the $Δ{B_{ΛΛ}}$ A dependence are made for heavier $Λ$-hypernuclei.
A depth of $D_Λ\approx -28$ MeV for the $Λ$-nucleus potential was confirmed in 1988 by studying $Λ$ binding energies deduced from $(π^+,K^+)$ spectra measured across the periodic table. Modern two-body hyperon-nucleon interaction models require additional interaction terms, most likely $ΛNN$ three-body terms, to reproduce $D_Λ$. In this work we apply a suitably constructed $Λ$-nucleus density dependent optical potential to binding energy calculations of observed $1s_Λ$ and $1p_Λ$ states in the mass range $12\leq A\leq 208$. The resulting $ΛNN$ contribution to $D_Λ$, about 14 MeV repulsion at s…
We investigate the properties of $Λ$ hyperon in $Λ$-hypernuclei using an effective nuclear density functional theory which is based on the low-energy effective field theory. It expands the energy density in the power of Fermi momentum, and consequently has multiple density dependence for the effective many-body interactions. Starting from the effective density functional for nucleons, we determine the parameters for the two- and many-body $Λ$-$N$ interactions added to the nucleon energy density functional by fitting to $Λ$-hypernuclear data. The experimental data consist of the energy levels o…
Competitive effects of nuclear deformation and density dependence of $Λ\!N$-interaction in $Λ$ binding energies $B_Λ$ of hypernuclei are studied systematically on the basis of the baryon-baryon interaction model ESC including many-body effects. By using the $Λ\!N$ G-matrix interaction derived from ESC, we perform microscopic calculations of $B_Λ$ in $Λ$ hypernuclei within the framework of the antisymmetrized molecular dynamics under the averaged-density approximation. The calculated values of $B_Λ$ reproduce experimental data within a few hundred keV in the wide mass regions from 9 to 51. It i…
Arguments in favor of a light $ΞNN$ hypernucleus with $(I)J^P=(3/2)1/2^+$ are presented, within the uncertainties of our knowledge of the baryon-baryon strangeness $-2$ interactions. If bound, this $ΞNN$ state, being decoupled from the lowest $NΛΛ$ system, would be stable. It will also benefit from additional binding due to the electromagnetic interaction what makes it worthwhile to look for. We show how the equivalent state with $J=3/2$ could never be bound in spite of the attractive interaction of the two-body subsystems. We illustrate our discussion with a full-fledged Faddeev calculation o…
The binding energies of a range of nuclei and hypernuclei with atomic number A <= 4 and strangeness |s| <= 2, including the deuteron, di-neutron, H-dibaryon, 3He, Lambda 3He, Lambda 4He, and Lambda Lambda 4He, are calculated in the limit of flavor-SU(3) symmetry at the physical strange quark mass with quantum chromodynamics (without electromagnetic interactions). The nuclear states are extracted from Lattice QCD calculations performed with n_f=3 dynamical light quarks using an isotropic clover discretization of the quark-action in three lattice volumes of spatial extent L ~ 3.4 fm, 4.5 fm and …
We study the photoproduction of the ^12{_Lambda}B hypernucleus within a fully covariant effective Lagrangian based model, employing Lambda bound state spinors derived from the latest quark-meson coupling model. The kaon production vertex is described via creation, propagation and decay of N*(1650), N*(1710), and N*(1720) intermediate baryonic resonant states in the initial collision of the photon with a target proton in the incident channel. The parameters of the resonance vertices are fixed by describing the total and differential cross section data on the elementary gamma (p, K+) Lambda reac…
Even though lots of $Λ$-hypernuclei have been found and measured, multi-strangeness hypernuclei consisting of $Ω$ are not yet discovered. The studies of multi-strangeness hypernuclei help us further understand the interaction between hyperons and nucleons. Recently the $ΩN$ and $ΩΩ$ interactions as well as binding energies were calculated by the HAL-QCD's lattice Quantum Chromo-Dynamics (LQCD) simulations and production rates of $Ω$-dibaryon in Au + Au collisions at RHIC and Pb + Pb collisions at LHC energies were estimated by a coalescence model. The present work discusses the production of m…
A simultaneous description of non-strange nuclei and hypernuclei is provided by a single mass formula inspired by the spin-flavour SU(6) symmetry breaking. This formula is used to estimate the hyperon binding energies of Lambda, double Lambda, Sigma, Cascade and Theta hypernuclei. The results are found to be in good agreement with the available experimental data on 'bound' nuclei and relativistic as well as quark mean field calculations. This mass formula is useful to estimate binding energies over a wide range of masses including the light mass nuclei. It is not applicable for repulsive poten…
The impurity effect of hyperon on atomic nuclei has received a renewed interest in nuclear physics since the first experimental observation of appreciable reduction of $E2$ transition strength in low-lying states of hypernucleus $^{7}_Λ$Li. Many more data on low-lying states of $Λ$ hypernuclei will be measured soon for $sd$-shell nuclei, providing good opportunities to study the $Λ$ impurity effect on nuclear low-energy excitations. We carry out a quantitative analysis of $Λ$ hyperon impurity effect on the low-lying states of $sd$-shell nuclei at the beyond-mean-field level based on a relativi…
We study the production of bound cascade hypernuclei via the (K-,K+) reaction on 12C and 28Si targets within a covariant effective Lagrangian model, employing the cascade bound state spinors derived from the latest quark-meson coupling model as well as Dirac single particle wave functions. The K+-cascade production vertex is described by excitation, propagation and decay of Lambda and Sigma resonance states in the initial collision of a K- meson with a target proton in the incident channel. The parameters of the resonance vertices are fixed by describing the available data on total and differe…
The interaction between $Λ_c$ and a nucleon ($N$) is investigated by employing the HAL QCD method in the (2+1)-flavor lattice QCD on a $(2.9~\mathrm{fm})^3$ volume at $m_π\simeq 410,~570,~700$ MeV. We study the central potential in $^1S_0$ channel as well as central and tensor potentials in $^3S_1 - $$^3D_1$ channel, and find that the tensor potential for $Λ_c N$ is negligibly weak and central potentials in both $^1S_0$ and $^3S_1 - $$^3D_1$ channels are almost identical with each other except at short distances. Phase shifts and scattering lengths calculated with these potentials show that th…
The energy levels of light hypernuclei are experimentally accessible observables that contain valuable information about the interaction between hyperons and nucleons. In this work we study strangeness $S = -1$ systems $^{3,4}_Λ$H and $^{4,5}_Λ$He using the ab initio no-core shell model (NCSM) with realistic interactions obtained from chiral effective field theory ($χ$EFT). In particular, we quantify the finite precision of theoretical predictions that can be attributed to nuclear physics uncertainties. We study both the convergence of the solution of the many-body problem (method uncertainty)…
The phenomenological formula for ground state binding energy derived earlier (International Journal of Modern Physics E {\bf 20} (2011) 179) has been modified. The parameters have been obtained by fitting the latest available tabulation of experimental values. The major modifications include a new term for pairing and introduction of a new neutron magic number at $N=160$. The new formula reduced the root mean square deviation to 363 keV, a substantial improvement over the previous version of the formula.
