In this note, we will consider the question of local equivalence of analytic functions which fix the origin and are tangent to the identity, as well as the question of flows of analytic vector fields. All mappings and equivalences are considered in the non-archimedean context e.g. all norms can be considered $p$-adic norms. We show that any two mappings $f$ and $g$ which are formally equivalent are also analytically equivalent, and we show that analytic vector fields generate analytic flows. We consider the related questions of roots and centralizers for analytic mappings. In this setting, anything which can be done formally can also be done analytically.
Let K be a p-adic field, and suppose that f and g are germs of analytic functions on K which are tangent to the identity at 0. It is known that f and g are homeomorphically equivalent, meaning there is an invertible germ h conjugating f to g. In this paper, we determine whether there exists such h which are lipeomorphisms, and moreover find the best possible Holder estimate at 0. Our results have striking complex and real counterparts.
We prove that there exists an automorphism of C^2 tangent to the identity with a domain of attraction to the origin, biholomorphic to the origin, along a degenerate characteristic direction.
In this short Survey we revisit the subject of local, identity-tangent diffeomorphisms of $\doC$ and their analytic invariants, under two viewpoints: that of explicit expansions, which necessarily involve multitangents and multizetas; and that of effective computation. Along the way, we stress the difference between the \textup{collectors} (pre-invariant but of one piece) and the \textup{connectors} (invariant but mutually unrelated). We also attempt to streamline the nomenclature and notations.
We prove that a holomorphic fixed point germ in two complex variables, tangent to the identity, and whose only characteristic direction is non-degenerate, has a domain of attraction on which the map is conjugate to a translation. In the case of a global automorphism, the corresponding domain of attraction is a Fatou-Bieberbach domain.
Let F be a germ of (C^2,O) tangent to the identity. Assume F has a characteristic direction [v]. In [Hak] Hakim gives conditions to guarantee the existence of an attracting basin to the origin along [v], in the case of [v] a non-degenerate characteristic direction. In this paper we give conditions to guarantee the existence of basins along [v] in the case of [v] a degenerate characteristic direction.
We describe a procedure for constructing formal normal forms of holomorphic maps with a hypersurface of fixed points, and we apply it to obtain a complete list of formal normal forms for 2-dimensional holomorphic maps tangential to a curve of fixed points.
We study the local dynamics of generic skew-products tangent to the identity, i.e. maps of the form $P(z,w)=(p(z), q(z,w))$ with $dP_0=\mathrm{id}$. More precisely, we focus on maps with non-degenerate second differential at the origin; such maps have local normal form $P(z,w)=(z-z^2+O(z^3),w+w^2+bz^2+O(\|(z,w)\|^3))$. We prove the existence of parabolic domains, and prove that inside these parabolic domains the orbits converge non-tangentially if and only if $b \in (\frac{1}{4},+\infty)$. Furthermore, we prove the existence of a type of parabolic implosion, in which the renormalization limits…
We study holomorphic fixed point germs in two complex variables that are tangent to the identity and have a degenerate characteristic direction. We show that if that characteristic direction is also a characteristic direction for higher degree terms, is non-degenerate for a higher degree term, and satisfies some additional properties, then there is a domain of attraction on which points converge to the origin along that direction.
We provide a family of isolated tangent to the identity germs $f:(\mathbb{C}^3,0) \to (\mathbb{C}^3,0)$ which possess only degenerate characteristic directions, and for which the lift of $f$ to any modification (with suitable properties) has only degenerate characteristic directions. This is in sharp contrast with the situation in dimension $2$, where any isolated tangent to the identity germ $f$ admits a modification where the lift of $f$ has a non-degenerate characteristic direction. We compare this situation with the resolution of singularities of the infinitesimal generator of $f$, showing…
We give an interesting example of a map in $\mathbb{C}^2$ that is tangent to the identity, but that does not have a domain of attraction along any of its characteristic direction. This map has three characteristic directions, two of which are not attracting while the third attracts points to that direction, but not to the origin. In addition, we show that if we add higher degree terms to this map, sometimes a domain of attraction along one of its characteristic directions will exist and sometimes one will not.
We prove the multisummability of the infinitesimal generator of unfoldings of finite codimension tangent to the identity 1-dimensional local complex analytic diffeomorphisms. We also prove the multisummability of Fatou coordinates and extensions of the Ecalle-Voronin invariants associated to these unfoldings. The quasi-analytic nature is related to the parameter variable. As an application we prove an isolated zeros theorem for the analytic conjugacy problem. The proof is based on good asymptotics of Fatou coordinates and the introduction of a new auxiliary tool, the so called multi-transversa…
We prove that for each characteristic direction $[v]$ of a tangent to the identity diffeomorphism of order $k+1$ in $\mathbb{C}^2$ there exist either an analytic curve of fixed points tangent to $[v]$ or $k$ parabolic manifolds where all the orbits are tangent to $[v]$, and that at least one of these parabolic manifolds is or contains a parabolic curve.
We prove that if $F$ is a tangent to the identity diffeomorphism at $0\in\mathbb{C}^2$ and $Γ$ is a formal invariant curve of $F$ then there exists a parabolic curve (attracting or repelling) of $F$ asymptotic to $Γ$. The result is a consequence of a more general one in arbitrary dimension, where we prove the existence of parabolic curves of a tangent to the identity diffeomorphism $F$ at $0\in\mathbb{C}^n$ asymptotic to a given formal invariant curve under some additional conditions, expressed in terms of a reduction of $F$ to a special normal form by means of blow-ups and ramifications along…
Let $F$ be an analytic diffeomorphism in $(\C^m,0)$ tangent to the identity of order $n$. The infinitesimal generator of $F$ is the formal vector field $X$ such that $\Exp X=F$. In this paper we provide an elementary proof of the fact that $X$ belongs to the Gevrey class of order $1/n$.
A well-known theorem of Böttcher asserts that an analytic germ f:(C,0)->(C,0) which has a superattracting fixed point at 0, more precisely of the form f(z) = az^k + o(z^k) for some a in C^*, is analytically conjugate to z->az^k by an analytic germ phi:(C,0)->(C,0) which is tangent to the identity at 0. In this article, we generalize this result to analytic maps of several complex variables.
We study basins of attraction of automorphisms of $\CC^2$ tangent to the identity that fix both axes. Our main result is that, if a well known conjecture about automorphisms of $\CC^*\times\CC^*$ holds, then there are no basins of attraction associated to the non-degenerate characteristic directions (in the sense of Hakim), and therefore we cannot find a Fatou-Bieberbach domain that does not intersect both axis with this method.
We give essentially unique ``normal forms'' for germs of a holomorphic vector field of the complex plane in the neighborhood of an isolated singularity which is a p:q resonant-saddle. Hence each vector field of that type is conjugate, by a germ of a biholomorphic map at the singularity, to a preferred element of an explicit family of vector fields. These model vector fields are polynomial in the resonant monomial.Abstract. This work is a followup of a similar result obtained for parabolic diffeomorphisms which are tangent to the identity, and solves the long standing problem of finding explici…
In this short note we would like to show how it is possible to use techniques introduced in the theory of local dynamics of holomorphic germs tangent to the identity to study global meromorphic self-maps of the complex projective space. In particular we shall show how a meromorphic self-map of a complex projective space induces a holomorphic foliation of the projective space in Riemann surfaces, whose singular points are exactly the fixed points and the indeterminacy points of the map; and we shall prove three index theorems, relating suitably defined local residues at the fixed and indetermin…
