AdS/QCD correspondence predicts the structure of quark-antiquark potential in the static limit. We use this piece of information together with the Salpeter equation (Schrödinger equation with relativistic kinematics) and a short range hyperfine splitting potential to determine quark masses and the quark potential parameters from the meson spectrum. The agreement between theory and experimental data is satisfactory provided one considers only mesons comprising at least one heavy quark. We use the same potential (in the one-gluon-exchange approximation) and these data to estimate constituent diquark masses. Using these results as an input we compute tetraquark masses using a diquark-antidiquark model. The masses of the states X(3872) or Y(3940) are predicted rather accurately. We also compute tetraquark masses with open charm and strangeness. Our result is that tetraquark candidates such as D_s(2317), D_s(2457) or X(2632) can hardly be interpreted as diquark-antidiquark states within the present approach.
This paper focuses on tetraquarks containing one heavy quark and one heavy antiquark in the formal limit where the heavy quark masses go to infinity. It extends the theoretical framework developed for tetraquark containing two heavy quarks based on semi-classical analysis and the Born-Oppenheimer approximation. It is shown that for sufficiently small light quark masses, parametrically narrow $q\bar{q}'Q\bar{Q}$ tetraquarks must exist in the formal limit of arbitrarily large heavy quark masses. The analysis is model-independent; it requires no assumptions about the structure of the state or the…
A general classification of tetraquark states in terms of the spin-flavour, colour and spatial degrees of freedom has been constructed. The permutational symmetry properties of both the spin-flavour and orbital parts of the quark-quark and antiquark-antiquark subsystems are discussed in short. This classification is model indipendent and useful both for model-builders and experimentalists. An evaluation of the tetraquark spectrum is obtained from a generalization of a Iachello mass formula, originally developed for the $q\bar q$ mesons. The ground state tetraquark nonet is identified with $f_{…
A classification of tetraquark states in terms of the spin-flavour, colour and spatial degrees of freedom has been constructed. The permutational symmetry properties of both the spin-flavour and orbital parts of the quark-quark and antiquark-antiquark subsystems are briefly discussed. This classification is useful both for model-builders and experimentalists. An evaluation of the tetraquark spectrum is obtained from a Iachello mass formula for tetraquark systems. The ground state tetraquark nonet is identified with $f_{0}(600)$, $κ(800)$, $f_{0}(980)$, $a_{0}(980)$. The mass splittings predict…
The linear potential binding a quark and an antiquark in mesons is generalized to baryons and multiquark configurations as the minimal length of flux tubes neutralizing the color, in units of the string tension. For tetraquark systems, i.e., two quarks and two antiquarks, this involves the two possible quark--antiquark pairings, and the Steiner tree linking the quarks to the antiquarks. A novel inequality for this potential demonstrates rigorously that within this model the tetraquark is stable in the limit of large quark-to-antiquark mass ratio.
AdS/QCD correspondence allows to compute the quark-antiquark potential in the static limit. We use this piece of information together with the Salpeter equation (Schroedinger equation with relativistic kinematics) and a short range hyperfine splitting potential to describe the bound states of quark-antiquark. Comparison with experiment permits to fit the parameters of the model, namely the quark masses and the quark potential parameters. A discussion of heavy tetraquark masses, prompted by the hypothesis of a diquark-antidiquark structure for the puzzling state X(3872), is also presented.
It is suggested that the narrow meson state seen in the the SELEX experiment is a $(c\bar{s} s\bar{s})$ tetraquark state. Characteristics of other possible tetraquarks formed out of $c$ and $s$ quarks and antiquarks are considered.
Multiquark correlations inside hadrons can have a significant and in some cases even striking impact on the hadron spectrum. We show how such correlations in general, and mesons with a dominant tetraquark content in particular, emerge holographically in the AdS/QCD framework. On this basis, we arrive at a holographic realization of an exceptionally strong four-quark binding and a correspondingly large tetraquark component in the lightest scalar mesons. Higher-lying tetraquark excitations, on the other hand, become too broad to form supernumeral scalar states.
We investigate the chiral (flavor) structure of tetraquarks, and study chiral transformation properties of the "non-exotic" [(3_bar,3)+(3,3_bar)] and [(8,1)+(1,8)] tetraquark chiral multiplets. We find that as long as this kind of tetraquark states contains one quark and one antiquark having the same chirality, such as (q_L q_L \bar q_L \bar q_R + q_R q_R \bar q_R \bar q_L), they transform in the same way as the lowest level (\bar q q) chiral multiplets under chiral transformations. There is only one [(3_bar,3)+(3,3_bar)] chiral multiplet whose quark-antiquark pairs all have the opposite chira…
Tetraquark properties are examined in the limit of large $N_c$ of color in QCD. The qualitative differences between molecular and compact tetraquarks are outlined. Consequences of the possible existence of compact tetraquarks are analyzed and shown to lead to upper bounds in the $N_c$-behavior of their decay widths. Open questions on theoretical grounds, related to the dynamics of systems composed of two quarks and two antiquarks, are addressed.
A menage a trois is very different from an ordinary family. Similarly, exotic hadrons with both qq and qbar q pairs have important color-space correlations that are completely absent in ordinary mesons and baryons. The presence of both types of pairs requires attention to the basic QCD physics that the q qbar interaction is much stronger than the qq interaction. This new physics in multiquark systems produces color structures totally different from those of normal hadrons, for example the ud system is utterly unlike the ud diquark in the uds Lambda baryon. The color-space correlations produce …
A chiral invariant Lagrangian describing the tetraquark-quarkonia interaction is considered at the leading and subleading order in the large-$N_{c}$ expansion. Spontaneous chiral symmetry breaking generates mixing of scalar tetraquark and quarkonia states and non-vanishing tetraquark condensates. In particular, the mixing strength is related to the decay strengths of tetraquark states into pseudoscalar mesons. The results show that scalar states below 1 GeV are mainly four-quark states and the scalars between 1 and 2 GeV quark-antiquark states, probably mixed with the scalar glueball in the is…
We analyse exotic tetraquark mesons - bound states formed by two quarks and two antiquarks - for the specific case of four different quark flavours within the framework of a well-defined limit of quantum chromodynamics characterized by the correlated growth without bound of the number of colour degrees of freedom and approach to zero of the coupling constant of the strong interactions. On the one hand, the assumption that the tetraquarks of the kind defined above show up, as poles in the amplitudes for the scattering of two ordinary mesons with flavour quantum numbers that match those of these…
We derive covariant equations for a system of two quarks and two antiquarks where the effect of quark-antiquark annihilation is taken into account. In our approach, only pair-wise interactions are retained, while all possibilities of overcounting are excluded by (i) keeping terms in the kernel that are consistent with a meson-meson and diquark-antidiquark substructure, and (ii) introducing 4-body equations with a novel structure that specifically avoids the generation of overcounted terms. The resulting tetraquark bound state equations are given for the case of general two-body interactions, a…
Utilizing lattice QCD results for the potential of two static antiquarks and two dynamical quarks as well as quark model techniques for the dynamics of two heavy antiquarks in a cloud of two light quarks, we are provided with an accurate framework for the study of possibly existing heavy-heavy-light-light tetraquarks. Among the possible quantum numbers of such a system, we find binding in only one channel, the scalar isosinglet. Solving the Schroedinger equation for the displacement of the heavy antiquarks and taking systematic errors into account, we find an antibottom-antibottom-light-light …
We calculate the masses of the $QQ\bar{q}\bar{q}$ ($Q=c,b$; $q=u,d,s$) tetraquark states with the aid of heavy diquark-antiquark symmetry (HDAS) and the chromomagnetic interaction (CMI) model. The masses of the highest-spin ($J=2$) tetraquarks that have only the $(QQ)_{\bar{3}_c}(\bar{q}\bar{q})_{3_c}$ color structure are related with those of conventional hadrons using HDAS. Thereafter, the masses of their partner states are determined with the mass splittings in the CMI model. Our numerical results reveal that: (i) the lightest $cc\bar{n}\bar{n}$ ($n=u,d$) is an $I(J^P)=0(1^+)$ state around …
I report on a lattice computation of the energy of a system of two light quarks and two static antiquarks as a function of the separation of the static antiquarks. In terms of hadrons such a system corresponds to a pair of B mesons and its energy to the hadronic potential. I present selected results for different isospin, spin and parity combinations of the individual B mesons mainly focusing on those channels relevant to determine, whether two B mesons may form a bound tetraquark state.
Using a soft-wall AdS/QCD approach we derive the Schrödinger-type equation of motion for the tetraquark wave function, which is dual to the dimension-4 AdS bulk profile. The latter coincides with the number of constituents in the leading Fock state of the tetraquark. The obtained equation of motion is solved analytically, providing predictions for both the tetraquark wave function and its mass. A low mass limit for possible tetraquark states is given by $M \ge 2 κ= 1$ GeV, where $κ= 0.5$ GeV is the typical value of the scale parameter in soft-wall AdS/QCD. We confirm results of the COMPASS Col…
We discuss how a dominant tetraquark component of the lightest scalar mesons may emerge in AdS/QCD gravity duals. In particular, we show that the exceptionally strong binding required to render the tetraquark ground state lighter than the lowest-lying scalar quark-antiquark nonet can be holographically encoded into bulk-mass corrections for the tetraquark's dual mode. The latter are argued to originate from the anomalous dimension of the corresponding four-quark interpolator. To provide a concrete example, we implement this mechanism into the dilaton soft-wall dual for holographic QCD. Prevent…
During the last three years strong experimental evidence from $B$ and charm factories has been accumulating for the existence of exotic hadronic quarkonia, narrow resonances which cannot be made from a quark and an antiquark. Their masses and decay modes show that they contain a heavy quark-antiquark pair, but their quantum numbers are such that they must also contain a light quark-antiquark pair. The theoretical challenge has been to determine the nature of these resonances. The main possibilities are that they are either "genuine tetraquarks", i.e. two quarks and two antiquarks within one co…
Flavour-exotic tetraquark mesons, by definition bound states of two quarks and two antiquarks of four mutually different quark flavours, are, for given Lorentz features, subject to two incompatible constraints: On the one hand, within quantum chromodynamics a formation of compact tetraquark states is most easily envisaged by merging two colour-antisymmetric two-quark clusters, a diquark and an antidiquark. This path, however, leads to merely a single tetraquark state of chosen Lorentz characteristics. On the other hand, in the limit of the number of colour degrees of freedom growing beyond bou…
If a narrow Theta^+ pentaquark exists, it is likely that a ud\bar s-ud triquark-diquark configuration is a significant component of its wave function. If so, the mechanism responsible for the binding of a triquark and a diquark is also likely to bind the triquark to an \bar s antiquark. We discuss the expected properties of such a ud\bar s-\bar s tetraquark meson. In particular, we point out that for a 0^+ isoscalar ud\bar s\bar s meson the lowest allowed decay mode is a four-body K K pi pi channel with a small phase space and a distinctive experimental signature.
We present a generalization of the hyperspherical harmonic formalism to study systems made of quarks and antiquarks of the same flavor. This generalization is based on the symmetrization of the $N-$body wave function with respect to the symmetric group using the Barnea and Novoselsky algorithm. Our analysis shows that four-quark systems with non-exotic $2^{++}$ quantum numbers may be bound independently of the quark mass. $0^{+-}$ and $1^{+-}$ states become attractive only for larger quarks masses.
The three pentaquark states, $P_c(4312)$, $P_c(4440)$ and $P_c(4457)$, discovered by the LHCb Collaboration in 2019, can be arranged into a complete heavy quark spin symmetry multiplet of hadronic molecules of $\bar{D}^{(\ast)}Σ_{c}^{(\ast)}$. In the heavy quark mass limit, the $Σ_{c}^{(\ast)}$ baryons can be related to the doubly charmed tetraquark states of isospin 1, i.e., $T_{\bar{c}\bar{c}}^{(\ast)}$( $T_{\bar{c}\bar{c}}^{0}$, $T_{\bar{c}\bar{c}}^{1}$, $T_{\bar{c}\bar{c}}^{2}$), via heavy antiquark diquark symmetry, which dictates that the $\bar{D}^{(\ast)}Σ_{c}^{(\ast)}$ interactions are…
In the extended Nambu--Jona-Lasinio model, the decay widths of the processes $τ\to [ω(782), ϕ(1020)] K^{-} ν_τ$ were calculated. The intermediate strange quark-antiquark mesons in both the ground and the first radially excited states were taken into account. The meson $K_{1}(1400)$, being a possible candidate for the role of the tetraquark meson, was also taken into account as an intermediate state. The result for the process $τ\to ω(782) K^{-} ν_τ$ is in satisfactory agreement with the experimental data. Simultaneously, the result for the decay $τ\to ϕ(1020) K^{-} ν_τ$ is in agreement with th…
Considering four-point correlation functions of color-singlet quark bilinears, we investigate, in the large-$N_{\mathrm{c}}$ limit of QCD, the subleading diagrams that involve, in the $s$-channel of meson-meson scattering amplitudes, two-quark--two-antiquark intermediate states. The latter contribute, together with gluon exchanges, to the formation, at the hadronic level, of two-meson and tetraquark intermediate states. It is shown that the two-meson contributions, which are predictable, in general, from leading-order $N_{\mathrm{c}}$-behaviors, consistently satisfy the constraints resulting f…
Hadron spectroscopy is a powerful tool for testing the standard model and for the search of new physics. In this work, we create a tetraquark model from a di-meson interaction inspired by Jacobi coordinates. We consider mesons as thick points and quantify their interaction with the quark-antiquark interaction through a factor k (that takes approximately the value 2) in a central phenomenological potential, reducing the four-body problem finally to a one body equivalent problem. The eigenproblem is solved using a combination of the DVR method and perturbation theory in a C++ code. We obtain a m…
We embark on systematic explorations of the behaviour of tetraquark mesons (colour-singlet bound states of two quarks and two antiquarks) in the (idealized) limit of a large number $N_c$ of colour degrees of freedom of quantum chromodynamics. Considering the scattering of two ordinary mesons into two ordinary mesons, we start off with formulating a set of selection criteria that should enable us to unambiguously single out precisely those contributions to all encountered scattering amplitudes that potentially will develop tetraquark poles. Assuming that tetraquark mesons do exist and, if so, e…
Scrutinizing the scattering of ordinary mesons in the limiting case of the number of colour degrees of freedom $N_{\rm c}$ of quantum chromodynamics approaching infinity, we formulate Feynman-diagram selection criteria and from these deduce rigorous self-consistency conditions for the manifestation of a tetraquark, a two-quark-two-antiquark bound state, as a pole in the corresponding amplitudes. Our constraints bear rather far-reaching consequences: In particular, all flavour-exotic tetraquarks, composed of four (anti)quarks of disparate flavour, must come in, at least, two variants differing …
We investigate the widths of the recently observed charmonium like resonances X(3872), Z(4430) and Z_2(4250) using QCD sum rules. Extending previous analyses regarding these states as diquark-antiquark states or molecules of D mesons, we introduce the Breit-Wigner function in the pole term. We find that introducing the width increases the mass at small Borel window region. Using the OPE up to dimension eight, we find that the sum rules based on interpolating current with molecular components give a stable Borel curve from which both the masses and widths of these resonances can be well obtaine…
For very heavy quarks, relations derived from heavy-quark symmetry imply novel narrow doubly heavy tetraquark states containing two heavy quarks and two light antiquarks. We predict that double-beauty states will be stable against strong decays, whereas the double-charm states and mixed beauty+charm states will dissociate into pairs of heavy-light mesons. Observing a new double-beauty state through its weak decays would establish the existence of tetraquarks and illuminate the role of heavy color-antitriplet diquarks as hadron constituents.
With the experimental observation of several credible candidates for multiquark hadrons, the latter states re-entered the focus of interest of theoretical strong-interaction physics. Proper treatment of hadronic bound states by quantum chromodynamics, QCD, the quantum field theory governing all strong interactions, necessitates a nonperturbative approach. A well-established framework of this kind is provided by QCD sum rules relating hadron features to the parameters of QCD. Conceptual reconsideration, however, reveals that, in order to really match the peculiarities of multiquarks, the long-s…
We look for the existence of stable (by strong interactions) tetraquarks, mesons containing two heavy antiquarks and two light quarks, specifically a $|{\bar b}{\bar b}qq\rangle$ state. This state is viewed as two $|{\bar b}q\rangle $ particles bound by a potential due to the exchange of the four light pseudoscalar and vector mesons, namely the $π,\ η,\ ρ$ and $ω$. Couplings of these particles are obtained by the use of heavy quark symmetry. We find that the $I=0,\ J=1$ state is bound for a large range of parameters, while all other states are not bound (the $I=1,\ J=0$ system may be bound for…
In this work, a color structure dependent flip-flop potential is developed for the two quarks and two antiquarks system. Then, this potential is applied to a microscopic quark model which, by integrating the internal degrees of freedom, is transformed into a model of mesons with non-local interactions. With this, the T matrix for the system is constructed and meson-meson scattering is studied. Tetraquarks states, interpreted as poles of of the T matrix, both bound states and resonances, are found. Special emphasis is given to the truly exotic $qq\bar{Q}\bar{Q}$ system, but some results for the…
We consider a system composed of two identical light quarks ($qq$) and two identical antiquarks ($\bar Q\bar Q$) that can be linked either as two mesons or as a tetraquark, incorporating quantum correlations between identical particles and an effective many-body potential between particles. We perform a 3-D Monte Carlo simulation of the system, considering the configurations allowed to form: i) Only two mesons, ii) Only tetraquark and iii) two mesons and tetraquark . We characterize each case and determine whether it is energetically more favorable to form a tetraquark or two mesons, as a func…
For many decades after the invention of the quark model in 1964 there was no evidence that hadrons are formed from anything other than the simplest pairings of quarks and antiquarks, mesons being formed of a quark-antiquark pair and baryons from three quarks. In the last decade, however, in an explosion of data from both $e^+e^-$ and hadron colliders, there are many recently observed states that do not fit into this picture. These new particles are called generically "exotics". They can be either mesons or baryons. Remarkably, they all decay into at least one meson formed of either a $c\overli…
The analysis of two-ordinary-meson scattering amplitudes in the limit of a large number $N_{\rm c}$ of the colour degrees of freedom of quantum chromodynamics, with suitably decreasing strong coupling and all quarks transforming according to the gauge group's fundamental representation, enables us to establish a set of rigorous consistency conditions for the emergence of a tetraquark (i.e., a bound state of two quarks and two antiquarks) as a pole in these amplitudes. For genuinely flavour-exotic tetraquarks, these constraints require the existence of two tetraquark states distinguishable by t…
We consider the relative decay rates of B0 and Bs mesons into a Jψ plus a light scalar meson either the f0(500) (σ) or the f0(980). We show that it is possible to distinguish between the quark content of the scalars being quark-antiquark or tetraquark by measuring specific ratios of decay rates. Using current data we determine the ratio of form-factors in Bs->Jψf0(980) with respect to B0->Jψf0(500) decays to be 1.02(+0.14, -0.04) at a four-momentum transfer squared equal to the mass of the Jψ meson squared. In the case where these light mesons are considered to be quark-antiquark states, we gi…
It is argued that exotic mesons consisting of two quarks and two antiquarks are not ruled out in quantum chromodynamics with a large number $N$ of colors, as generally thought. They can come in two varieties: short-lived tetraquarks with decay rates proportional to $N$, which would be unobservable if $N$ were sufficiently large, and long-lived tetraquarks with decay rates proportional to 1/N. The $f_0(500)$ and $f_0(980)$ may be examples of these two varieties of exotic mesons.
A systematic study of multiquark exotics with one or $N_c-1$ heavy quarks in the large $N_c$ limit is presented. By binding a chiral soliton to a heavy meson, either a normal $N_c$-quark baryon or an exotic $(N_c+2)$-quark baryon is obtained. By replacing the heavy quark with $N_c-1$ heavy antiquarks, exotic $(2N_c-2)$-quark and $2N_c$-quark mesons are obtained. When $N_c = 3$, they are just the normal triquark baryon $Qqq$, the exotic pentaquark baryon $Q\bar q\bar q\bar q\bar q$, tetraquark di-meson $\bar Q \bar Q qq$ and the hexaquark di-baryon $\bar Q \bar Q \bar q \bar q\ bar q \bar q$ re…
We investigate the $D_{s0}^\ast(2317)$ meson using lattice QCD and considering correlation functions of several $\bar{c} s$ two-quark and $\bar{c} s (\bar{u} u + \bar{d} d)$ four-quark interpolating fields. These interpolating fields generate different structures in color, spin and position space including quark-antiquark pairs, tetraquarks and two-meson scattering states. For our computation we use an ensemble simulated with pion mass $m_π\approx 0.296 \, \textrm{GeV}$ and spatial volume of extent $2.90 \, \textrm{fm}$. We find in addition to the expected spectrum of two-meson scattering stat…
The recent reported charmed-strange resonance at 2.32 GeV/c suggests a possible multiquark state. Three types of multiquark bound states are reviewed. A previous model-independent variational approach considers a tetraquark with two heavy antiquarks and two light quarks as a heavy antidiquark with the color field of a quark bound to the two light quarks with a wave function like that of a heavy baryon. Results indicate that a charmed-strange tetraquark $\bar c \bar s u d$ or a bottom-strange tetraquark $\bar b \bar s u d$ with this "diquark-heavy-baryion" wave function is not bound, in contras…
The colour fields created by the static tetraquark system are computed in quenched SU(3) lattice QCD, in a 24^3 x 48 lattice at beta=6.2 corresponding to a lattice spacing a=0.07261(85) fm. We find that the tetraquark colour fields are well described by a double-Y, or butterfly, shaped flux tube. The two flux tube junction points are compatible with Fermat points minimizing the total flux tube length. We also compare the diquark-diantiquark central flux tube profile in the tetraquark with the quark-antiquark fundamental flux tube profile in the meson, and they match, thus showing that the tetr…
Many of the XYZ mesons discovered in the last decade can be identified as bound states of a heavy quark and antiquark in Born-Oppenheimer (B-O) potentials defined by the energy of gluon and light-quark fields in the presence of static color sources. The mesons include quarkonium hybrids, which are bound states in excited flavor-singlet B-O potentials, and quarkonium tetraquarks, which are bound states in flavor-nonsinglet B-O potentials. The deepest hybrid potentials are known from lattice QCD calculations. The deepest tetraquark potentials can be inferred from lattice QCD calculations of stat…
We study the hadronic production of four-quark states with double heavy quarks and double light antiquarks at LHC. The production mechanism is that a color anti-triplet diquark cluster consisting of double heavy quarks is formed first from the produced double heavy quark-antiquark pairs via $gg$ fusion hard process, followed by the fragmentation of the diquark cluster into a four-quark (tetraquark) state. Predictions for the production cross sections and their differential distributions are presented. Our results show that it is quite promising to discover these tetraquark states in LHC experi…
We compare two frequently discussed competing structures for a stable $\bar b \bar b u d$ tetraquark with quantum numbers $I(J^P) = 0(1^+)$ by considering a meson-meson as well as a diquark-antidiquark creation operator. We treat the heavy antiquarks as static with fixed positions and find diquark-antidiquark dominance for $\bar b \bar b$ separations $r < 0.2 \, \text{fm}$, while for $r > 0.5 \, \text{fm}$ the system essentially corresponds to a pair of $B$ mesons. For the meson-meson to diquark-antidiquark ratio of the tetraquark we obtain around $58\%/42\%$.
Many of the $XYZ$ resonances observed by the Belle, Babar, CLEO and BESIII collaborations in the past decade are difficult to interpret as conventional quark-antiquark mesons, motivating the consideration of scenarios such as multi-quark states, meson molecules, and hybrids. After a brief introduction to QCD sum-rule methods, we provide a brief but comprehensive review of the mass spectra of the quarkonium-like tetraquark states $qQ\bar q\bar Q$, doubly charmed/bottomed tetraquark states $QQ\bar q\bar q$ and the heavy quarkonium hybrid states $\bar QGQ$ in the QCD sum rules approach. Possible …
We compute potentials of two static antiquarks in the presence of two quarks $qq$ of finite mass using lattice QCD. In a second step we solve the Schrödinger equation, to determine, whether the resulting potentials are sufficiently attractive to host a bound state, which would indicate the existence of a stable $q q \bar b \bar b$ tetraquark. We find a bound state for $qq=(ud-du)/\sqrt{2}$ with corresponding quantum numbers $I(J^ P)=0(1^+)$ and evidence against the existence of bound states with isospin $I=1$ or $qq \in \{cc,ss \}$
We study the masses of open charm and bottom tetraquark states within the diquark-antidiquark scenario in the relativized quark model proposed by Godfrey and Isgur. The diquark and antidiquark masses are firstly solved by relativized quark potential, and then treated as the usual antiquark and quark, respectively. The masses of tetraquark states are obtained by solving the Schrödinger-type equation between the new diquark and antidiquark. We find the masses of $sq\bar b\bar q$ tetraquark configuration are much higher than that of $X(5568)$. This conclusion disfavors the possibility of $X(5568)…
We investigate spin effects in four-quark systems consisting of two heavy anti-bottom quarks and two light up/down quarks. To this end we use the Born-Oppenheimer approximation. We utilize potentials of two static antiquarks in the presence of two quarks of finite mass computed via lattice QCD and solve a coupled-channel Schrödinger equation for the anti-bottom-anti-bottom separation. Without taking heavy quark spins into account this approach predicted a $u d \bar b \bar b$ tetraquark bound state with quantum numbers $I(J^P) = 0(1^+)$. We now extend this Born-Oppenheimer approach with coupled…
