We perform a new and updated analysis of sneutrinos as dark matter candidates, in different classes of supersymmetric models. We extend previous analyses by studying sneutrino phenomenology for full variations of the supersymmetric parameters which define the various models. We first revisit the standard Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model, concluding that sneutrinos are marginally compatible with existing experimental bounds, including direct detection, provided they compose a subdominant component of dark matter. We then study supersymmetric models with the inclusion of right-handed fields and lepton-number violating terms. Simple versions of the lepton-number-violating models do not lead to phenomenology different from the standard case when the neutrino mass bounds are properly included. On the contrary, models with right-handed fields are perfectly viable: they predict sneutrinos which are compatible with the current direct detection sensitivities, both as subdominant and dominant dark matter components. We also study the indirect detection signals for such successful models: predictions for antiproton, antideuteron and gamma-ray fluxes are provided and compared with existing and future experimental sensitivities. The neutrino flux from the center of the Earth is also analyzed.
We consider a weak scale supersymmetric seesaw model where the Higgsino is the next-to-lightest supersymmetric particle and the right-handed sneutrino is the dark matter candidate. It is shown that, in this model, inverse decays, which had been previously neglected, may suppress the sneutrino relic density by several orders of magnitude. After including such processes and numerically solving the appropriate Boltzmann equation, we study the dependence of the relic density on the mu parameter, the sneutrino mass, and the neutrino Yukawa coupling. We find that, even though much smaller than in ea…
We consider massless gauge boson connected to B-L charge with and without compensation to complete the investigation of the gauging of B and L charges. Relic sneutrinos predicted by SUSY and composite models may compensate B-L charge of matter. As a consequence of the possible compensation mechanism we have shown that the available experimental data admit the range of the B-L interaction constant, 10^{-29} < α_{B-L} < 10^{-12}, in addition to α_{B-L} < 10^{-49} obtained without compensation.
We consider supersymmetric models with right-handed neutrinos where neutrino masses are purely Dirac-type. In this model, right-handed sneutrino can be the lightest supersymmetric particle and can be a viable candidate of cold dark matter of the universe. Right-handed sneutrinos are never thermalized in the early universe because of weakness of Yukawa interaction, but are effectively produced by decays of various superparticles. We show that the present mass density of right-handed sneutrino can be consistent with the observed dark matter density.
We investigate the so-called superWIMP scenario with gravitino as the lightest supersymmetric particle (LSP) in the context of non-standard cosmology, in particular, brane world cosmology. As a candidate of the next-to-LSP (NLSP), we examine slepton and sneutrino. Brane world cosmological effects dramatically enhance the relic density of the slepton or sneutrino NLSP, so that the NLSP with mass of order 100 GeV can provide the correct abundance of gravitino dark matter through its decay. We find that with an appropriate five dimensional Planck mass, this scenario can be realized consistently w…
In models where supersymmetry breaking is communicated into the visible sector via gauge interactions the lightest supersymmetric particle is typically the gravitino which is too light to account for cold dark matter. We point out that the lightest messenger sneutrinos with mass in the range of one to three TeV may serve as cold dark matter over most of the parameter space due to one-loop electroweak radiative corrections. However, in the minimal model this mass range has been excluded by the direct dark matter searches. We propose a solution to this problem by introducing terms that explicitl…
We show that within the inverse seesaw mechanism for generating neutrino masses minimal supergravity is more likely to have a sneutrino as the lightest superparticle than the conventional neutralino. We also demonstrate that such schemes naturally reconcile the small neutrino masses with the correct relic sneutrino dark matter abundance and accessible direct detection rates in nuclear recoil experiments.
The relic abundance of the lightest right-handed sneutrino dark matter in supersymmetric B-L extension of the standard model is revisited. We argue that it can form a bound state through the exchange of light B-L Higgs boson and a large non-perturbative Sommerfeld effect is obtained. We emphasized that with this effect the relic abundance of right-handed sneutrino will lie within the observational limits and the right-handed sneutrino will remain a viable dark matter candidate of mass order up to 1.5 TeV.
Decays of sneutrinos are considered in the case that in the presence of lepton-number violation in the sneutrino sector the lighter tau-sneutrino is the Lightest Supersymmetric Particle and the Cold Dark Matter in the Universe. In such circumstances the signals from sparticle decays differ considerably from the ``standard'' case where the lightest neutralino is the Lightest Supersymmetric Particle and it is found that in a wide range of parameters compatible with the sneutrino Cold Dark Matter hypothesis signatures characteristic for such a scenario should be easily observable at for example a…
The similarity of the observed densities of baryons and cold dark matter suggests that they have a common or related origin. This can be understood in the context of the MSSM with right-handed (RH) sneutrinos if cold dark matter is due to a d = 4 flat direction condensate of very weakly coupled RH sneutrino LSPs and the baryon asymmetry is generated by Affleck-Dine leptogenesis along the d = 4 (H_{u}L)^{2} flat direction. The correct density of RH sneutrino dark matter is obtained if the reheating temperature is in the range 10^{6}-10^{8} GeV. A cold dark matter isocurvature perturbation close…
The left-handed sneutrino in the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (MSSM) has been ruled out as a viable thermal dark matter candidate, due to conflicting constraints from direct detection experiments and from the measurement of the dark matter relic density. The intrinsic fine-tuning problem of the MSSM, however, motivates an extension with a new U(1)' gauge symmetry. We show that in the U(1)'-extended MSSM the right-handed sneutrino becomes a good thermal dark matter candidate. We identify two generic parameter space regions where the combined constraints from relic density determination…
The tau sneutrino is proposed as a candidate for galactic halo dark matter, and as the cold dark matter (CDM) component of the universe. A lepton-number-violating sneutrino mass, \tildeν\tildeν, splits the tau sneutrino into two mass eigenstates: \tildeν \rightarrow \tildeν_\pm. The absence of a Z \tildeν_- \tildeν_- coupling implies that the lighter mass eignestate, \tildeν_-, does not annihilate via the s-channel Z-exchange to a low cosmological abundance, and furthermore, halo sneutrinos do not scatter excessively in Ge detectors. For the majority of the relevant parameter space, the event …
We study an extension of the MSSM with a singlet S with coupling SH1H2 in order to solve the mu problem as in the NMSSM, and right-handed neutrinos N with couplings SNN in order to generate dynamically electroweak-scale Majorana masses. We show how in this model a purely right-handed sneutrino can be a viable candidate for cold dark matter in the Universe. Through the direct coupling to the singlet, the sneutrino can not only be thermal relic dark matter but also have a large enough scattering cross section with nuclei to detect it directly in near future, in contrast with most of other right-…
We consider the minimal supersymmetric standard model (MSSM) extended by introducing three right-handed (s)neutrinos to account for neutrino masses in the oscillation experiments. Assuming that the neutrino masses are purely Dirac-type, the lightest right-handed sneutrino $\tilde ν_R$ can be the lightest superparticle (LSP), which is a good candidate of cold dark matter (CDM) of the universe. We study the possibility of realizing $\tilde ν_R$-CDM, paying a special attention to the production of $\tilde ν_R$ via decay of the next-to-lightest superparticle (NLSP) after its freeze-out time. It is…
A thorough analysis of sneutrinos as dark matter candidates is performed, in different classes of supersymmetric models, as is typically done for the neutralino dark matter. First in the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model, sneutrinos are marginally compatible with existing experimental bounds, including direct detection, provided they compose a subdominant component of dark matter. Then supersymmetric models with the inclusion of right-handed fields and lepton number violating terms are presented. These models are perfectly viable: they predict sneutrinos which are compatible with the curre…
High-energy neutrinos may resonate with relic background neutralinos to form short-lived sneutrinos. In some circumstances, the decay chain that leads back to the lightest supersymmetric particle would yield few-GeV gamma rays or charged-particle signals. Although resonant coannihilation would occur at an appreciable rate in our galaxy, the signal in any foreseeable detector is unobservably small.
We consider Higgsino-like dark matter (DM) in the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (MSSM) with additional right-handed neutrino chiral superfields, and propose a new non-thermal way of generating the right amount of relic DM via sneutrino late decays. Due to the large DM annihilation cross-section, decays must occur at lower temperatures than the freeze-out temperature $T_d\ll T_{F,\tildeχ^0_1}\sim μ/25$, implying a mostly right-handed lightest sneutrino with very small Yukawa interactions. In that context, the right amount of Higgsino-like DM relic density can be accounted for if sneutri…
We calculate the relic density of very heavy, stable scalar neutrinos in the minimal supersymmetric standard model. We include all two-body final states, as well as the effects of co-annihilation with scalar electrons. We find that the sneutrino relic density is in the cosmologically interesting region $0.1\ltwidΩ_{\sn}h^2\ltwid 1.0$ for $550\gev\ltwid\msn\ltwid 2300\gev$. For nominal values of the parameters of our galactic halo, recent results from the Heidelberg--Moscow direct detection experiment set an upper limit on $Ω_{\sn}$ which is lower by a factor ranging from two to ten, depending …
Supersymmetric extensions to the standard model provide viable dark matter candidates, and can introduce additional charge-parity (CP) violation, needed for obtaining the observed baryon asymmetry of the universe. We study the possibilities of scalar and neutralino dark matter with spontaneous CP violation in the next-to-minimal supersymmetric standard model with a right handed neutrino. The observed relic density can be produced both by neutralino and right handed sneutrino as the lightest supersymmetric particle, but when CP is violated, the new annihilation channels lower the achieved relic…
In the minimal supersymmetric standard model (MSSM) the lightest superpartner of the left-handed neutrinos is ruled out of being a candidate of dark matter because of its large elastic cross-section with the nucleus mediated via Z-boson. We resurrect it by extending the MSSM with two triplets with opposite hypercharge. The addition of the triplets not only play a role in generating small Majorana masses for the left-handed active neutrinos but also make the lightest sneutrino a viable candidate for dark matter. We then discuss the relevant parameter space in details which can give rise to the …
We study the properties of the right-handed sneutrino and its viability as a WIMP dark matter candidate in an extended version of the NMSSM in which a right-handed neutrino superfield is included with a coupling to the singlet Higgs in order to provide non-vanishing Majorana neutrino masses. We perform a systematic study of the parameter space, including LEP constraints and experimental bounds on low-energy observables. We investigate the conditions under which the right-handed sneutrino has the correct relic abundance and the dominant annihilation channels. Next we calculate the theoretical p…
We discuss the relic abundance of the right-handed sneutrinos in the supersymmetric F_D-term model of hybrid inflation. As well as providing a natural solution to the mu- and gravitino overabundance problems, the model offers the lightest right-handed sneutrino as a candidate for thermal dark matter. The F_D-term model predicts a new quartic coupling of purely right-handed sneutrinos to the Higgs doublets that thermalizes the sneutrinos and makes them annihilate sufficiently fast to a level compatible with the current cosmic microwave background data. We discuss this scenario and identify favo…
We show that the $B-L$ Supersymmetric Standard Model with Inverse Seesaw (BLSSMIS) provides new Dark Matter (DM) candidates (lightest right-handed sneutrino and lightest $B-L$ neutralino) with mass of order few hundreds GeV, while most of other SUSY spectrum can be quite heavy, consistently with the current Large Hadron Collider (LHC) constraints. We emphasize that the thermal relic abundance and direct detection experiments via relic neutralino scattering with nuclei impose stringent constraints on the $B-L$ neutralinos. These constraints can be satisfied by few points in the parameter space …
We extend the constrained minimal supersymmetric model (CMSSM) by adding a right-handed neutrino superfield ($ν$CMSSM) which decouples close to the GUT scale. We study the effects of a right-handed neutrino on the low energy spectrum and focus on the predictions for dark matter properties. We pay particular attention to the realization of the light (left-handed) sneutrino which can be the next-to-lightest supersymmetric particle (NLSP) with either the neutralino or gravitino as the lightest supersymmetric particle (LSP). Notably, for the case of a neutralino LSP with a sneutrino NLSP, there ar…
We argue that the superpartner of the Dirac right-handed neutrino is a prime candidate for dark matter created from a 'mattergenesis' mechanism. We show that due to the smallness of the Yukawa couplings, a right-handed sneutrino density created in the early Universe would not be erased by annihilations, which remain out of thermal equilibrium. It would also not be drowned by a later, additional production of right-handed sneutrinos, as the relic density of the non-thermal right-handed sneutrinos is found to be generally negligible compared to the observed dark matter density. Mild constraints …
We study the light-element abundances in supersymmetric model where the right-handed sneutrino is the lightest superparticle (LSP), assuming that the neutrino masses are purely Dirac-type. In such a scenario, the lightest superparticle in the minimal supersymmetric standard model sector (which we call MSSM-LSP) becomes long-lived, and thermal relic MSSM-LSP may decay after the big-bang nucleosynthesis starts. We calculate the light-element abundances including non-standard nuclear reactions induced by the MSSM-LSP decay, and derive constraints on the scenario of right-handed sneutrino LSP.
We compute the relic abundance of the right-handed sneutrinos in the supersymmetric F_D-term model of hybrid inflation. As well as providing a natural solution to the mu- and gravitino overabundance problems, the F_D-term model offers a new viable candidate to account for the cold dark matter in the Universe: the lightest right-handed sneutrino. In particular, the F_D-term model predicts a new quartic coupling of purely right-handed sneutrinos to the Higgs doublets that thermalizes the sneutrinos and makes them annihilate sufficiently fast to a level compatible with the current cosmic microwav…
In this paper, we discuss the MSSM extended with one vector-like lepton doublets $L$-$\overline{L}$ and one right-handed neutrino $N$. The neutral vecotor-like sneutrino can be a candidate of dark matter. In order to avoid the interaction with the necleons by exchanging a $Z$-boson, the mass splitting between the real part and the imaginary part of the sneutrino field is needed. Compared with the MSSM sneutrino dark matter, the mass splitting between the vector-like sneutrino field can be more naturally acquired without large A-terms and constraints on the neutralino masses. We have also calcu…
We consider MSSM with right-chiral neutrino superfields with Majorana masses, where the lightest right-handed sneutrino dominated scalars constitutes non-thermal dark matter (DM). The $Δ\,L=2$ masses are subject to severe constraints coming from freeze-in relic density of such DM candidates as well as from sterile neutrino $\textit{freeze-in}$. In addition, big-bang Nucleosynthesis and $\textit{freeze-out}$ of the next-to-lightest superparticle shrink the viable parameter space of such a scenario. We examine various $Δ\,L=2$ mass terms for families other than that $Δ\,L=2$ masses are difficult…
We show that the lightest right-handed sneutrino in TeV scale supersymmetric B-L model with inverse seesaw mechanism is a viable candidate for cold dark matter. We find that it accounts for the observed dark matter relic abundance in a wide range of parameter space. The spin-independent cross section of B-L right-handed sneutrino is consistent with the recent results CDMS II and XENON experiments and it is detectable in future direct detection experiments. Although the B-L right-handed sneutrinos annihilate into leptons, the PAMELA results can not be explained in this model unless a huge boost…
The origin of dark matter in the universe may be scalar particles produced by amplification of quantum fluctuations during a period of dilaton-driven inflation. We show, for the first time, that a single species of particles, depending on its mass and interactions, can be a source of both cold and hot dark matter simultaneously. Detection of such weakly interacting particles with masses below a fraction of an eV presents a new challenge for dark matter searches.
We study the phenomenology of mixed-sneutrino dark matter in the Minimal R-Symmetric Supersymmetric Standard Model (MRSSM). Mixed sneutrinos fit naturally within the MRSSM, as the smallness (or absence) of neutrino Yukawa couplings singles out sneutrino A-terms as the only ones not automatically forbidden by R-symmetry. We perform a study of randomly generated sneutrino mass matrices and find that (i) the measured value of $Ω_{DM}$ is well within the range of typical values obtained for the relic abundance of the lightest sneutrino, (ii) with small lepton-number-violating mass terms $m_{nn}^{2…
Right-handed sneutrinos are natural components of left-right symmetric supersymmetric models where the gauge sector is extended to include right-handed weak interactions. Unlike in other models where right-handed sneutrinos are gauge singlets, here the right sneutrino is part of a doublet and could be a dark matter candidate whose annihilation proceeds via gauge interactions. We investigate this possibility, and find that relic density, low-energy observable and direct supersymmetry search constraints can be satisfied when the lightest supersymmetric particle is a right-handed sneutrino. We in…
We analyze scenarios in which some flavour of sneutrino is the next-to-lightest supersymmetric particle (NLSP), assuming that the gravitino is the lightest supersymmetric particle (LSP) and provides the cold dark matter. Such scenarios do not arise in the constrained supersymmetric extension of the Standard Model (CMSSM) with universal gaugino and scalar masses input at the GUT scale. However, models with non-universal Higgs masses (NUHM) do allow scenarios with a sneutrino NLSP, which are quite generic. We illustrate how such scenarios may arise, analyze the possible metastable sneutrino life…

The similarity of the observed mass densities of baryons and cold dark matter may be a sign they have a related origin. The baryon-to-dark matter ratio can be understood in the MSSM with right-handed (RH) neutrinos if CDM is due to a d = 4 flat direction condensate of very weakly coupled RH sneutrino LSPs and the baryon asymmetry is generated by Affleck-Dine leptogenesis along a d = 4 (H_{u}L)^2 flat direction. Observable signatures of the model include CDM and baryon isocurvature perturbations and distinctive long-lived NLSP phenomenology.
We consider supersymmetric models in which the right-handed sneutrino is a viable WIMP dark matter candidate. These are either simple extensions of the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model or models with the addition of an extra U(1) group. All of them can explain small neutrino masses, through either the Inverse or the Linear Seesaw mechanism. We investigate the properties of the dark matter candidate naturally arising in these scenarios. We check for phenomenological bounds, such as correct relic abundance, consistency with direct detection cross section limits and laboratory constraints. E…
The decoupling of a cold relic, during a decaying-particle-dominated cosmological evolution is analyzed, the relic density is calculated both numerically and semi-analytically and the results are compared with each other. Using plausible values (from the point of view of supersymmetric models) for the mass and the thermal averaged cross section times the velocity of the cold relic, we investigate scenaria of equilibrium or non-equilibrium production. In both cases, acceptable results for the dark matter abundance can be obtained, by constraining the reheat temperature of the decaying particle,…
We consider supersymmetric models in which sneutrinos are viable dark matter candidates. These are either simple extensions of the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model with additional singlet superfields, such as the inverse or linear seesaw, or a model with an additional U(1) group. All of these models can accomodate the observed small neutrino masses and large mixings. We investigate the properties of sneutrinos as dark matter candidates in these scenarios. We check for phenomenological bounds, such as correct relic abundance, consistency with direct detection cross section limits and labor…
We study the minimal SUGRA phenomenology in the case of an alternative seesaw mechanism for generating neutrino masses. Changes in the neutrino sector lead to a modification of the supersymmetric particle spectrum and the sneutrino naturally arises as the lightest supersymmetric particle. The obtained sneutrino has a relic density within the WMAP range and is compatible with present nuclear recoil bounds.
In models of coupled dark energy and dark matter the mass of the dark matter particle depends on the cosmological evolution of the dark energy field. In this note we exemplify in a simple model the effects of this mass variation on the relic abundance of cold dark matter.
We have explored a minimal supersymmetric standard model scenario extended by one pair of gauge singlets per generation. In the model light neutrino masses and their mixings are generated via inverse seesaw mechanism. In such a scenario, a right-handed sneutrino can be the lightest supersymmetric particle and a cold Dark Matter (DM) candidate. If Casas-Ibarra parametrisation is imposed on the Dirac neutrino Yukawa coupling matrix ($Y_ν$) to fit the neutrino oscillation data, the resulting $Y_ν$ is highly constrained from the lepton flavor violating (LFV) decay constraints. The smallness of $Y_…
This work deals with right handed sneutrino as thermal cold dark matter candidate. This scalar emerges in a supersymmetric version of $SU(3)_c \otimes SU(3)_L \otimes U(1)_X$ gauge model where right handed neutrinos are a natural component of leptonic chiral scalar supermultiplets. We first consider the issue of a $125$~GeV Higgs boson mass in this model, showing that constraints on stop mass and trilinear soft coupling are considerably alleviated compared to MSSM. Then we investigate the region of parameter space that is consistent with right handed sneutrino as thermal cold dark matter, unde…
The standard CDM model fails to describe the power spectrum of fluctuations since it gives too much power at small scales. Among other possible improvements, it has been suggested that an agreement with observations can be achieved with the addition of a late decaying particle, through the injection of non-thermal radiation and the consequent increase of the horizon length at the equivalence time. We analyze the possibility of implementing this idea in some extensions of the electroweak standard model, discussing the cosmological and astrophysical bounds to which these schemes are subject.
$U(1)_X$SSM is the extension of the minimal supersymmetric standard model(MSSM) and its local gauge group is $SU(3)_C\times SU(2)_L \times U(1)_Y \times U(1)_X$. To obtain this model, three singlet new Higgs superfields and right-handed neutrinos are added to MSSM. In the framework of $U(1)_X$SSM, we study the Higgs mass and take the lightest CP-even sneutrino as a cold dark matter candidate. For the lightest CP-even sneutrino, the relic density and the cross section for dark matter scattering off nucleon are both researched. In suitable parameter space of the model, the numerical results sati…
We perform a detailed analysis of dark matter signals of supersymmetric models containing an extra $U(1)^\prime$ gauge group. We investigate scenarios in which either the right sneutrino or the lightest neutralino are phenomenologically acceptable dark matter candidates and we explore the parameter spaces of different supersymmetric realisations featuring an extra $U(1)^\prime$. We impose consistency with low energy observables, with known mass limits for the superpartners and $Z^\prime$ bosons, as well as with Higgs boson signal strengths, and we moreover verify that predictions for the anoma…
Matter isocurvature perturbations are strictly constrained from cosmic microwave background observations. We study a sneutrino curvaton model where both cold dark matter (CDM)/baryon isocurvature perturbations are generated. In our model, total matter isocurvature perturbations are reduced since the CDM/baryon isocurvature perturbations compensate for each other. We show that this model can not only avoid the stringent observational constraints but also suppress temperature anisotropies on large scales, which leads to improved agreement with observations.
We study natural supersymmetric scenarios with light right-handed neutrino superfields, and consider the possibility of having either a neutrino or a sneutrino as a dark matter candidate. For the former, we evaluate the possibility of having SUSY corrections on the $ν_4\toν_\ellγ$ decay rate, such that the NuStar bounds are relaxed. We find that corrections are too small. For sneutrino dark matter, we consider thermal and non-thermal production, taking into account freeze-out, freeze-in and super-WIMP mechanisms. For the non-thermal case, we find that the $\tildeν_R$ can reproduce the observed…
We show that a Dirac right-handed scalar neutrino can be weakly interacting massive particle in the neutrinophilic Higgs model. When the additional Higgs fields couple only to the leptonic sector through neutrino Yukawa couplings, the right number of relic density of dark matter can be obtained from thermal freeze-out of the dark matter annihilation into charged leptons and neutrinos. At present, this annihilation is suppressed by the velocity of dark matter. However one-loop annihilation cross section into $γγ$ can be larger than that of the helicity suppressed annihilation into fermions, bec…
Very light right-handed (RH) sneutrinos in the Next-to-Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model can be viable candidates for cold dark matter. We investigate the prospects for their direct detection, addressing their compatibility with the recent signal observed by the CoGeNT detector, and study the implications for Higgs phenomenology. We find that in order to reproduce the correct relic abundance very light RH sneutrinos can annihilate into either a fermion-antifermion pair, very light pseudoscalar Higgses or RH neutrinos. If the main annihilation channel is into fermions, we point out that RH …
We demonstrate that if the universe is dominated by the massive cold dark matter, then besides the generally believed thermal distribution of the dark matter relics, there may exist some very energetic non-thermal relics of the dark matter particles in the universe from some unknown sources, such as from decay of supermassive X particle released from topological defect collapse or annihilation. Very interesting, we point out that these high energy dark matter particles may be observable in the current and future cosmic ray experiments.
In the framework of the $(B-L)$ Supersymmetric Standard Model (BLSSM), we assess the ability of ground and space based experiments to establish the nature of its prevalent Dark Matter (DM) candidate, the sneutrino, which could either be CP-even or -odd. Firstly, by benchmarking this theory construct against the results obtained by the Planck spacecraft, we extract the portions of the BLSSM parameter space compliant with relic density data. Secondly, we show that, based on current sensitivities of the Fermi Large Area Telescope (FermiLAT) and their future projections, the study of high-energy $…
We present a complete calculation of the QCD and SUSY-QCD corrections to neutralino pair annihilation into bottom quark-antiquark pairs through exchange of a pseudoscalar Higgs boson, which is the dominant process in the cosmological A-funnel region of the mSUGRA model. We present numerical predictions for the annihilation cross section and discuss the influence of the correction terms on the cold dark matter relic density with respect to recent cosmological data.
In supersymmetric theories like the Next-to-Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (NMSSM), the lightest neutralino with bino or singlino as its dominant component is customarily taken as dark matter (DM) candidate. Since light Higgsinos favored by naturalness can strength the couplings of the DM and thus enhance the DM-nucleon scattering rate, the tension between naturalness and DM direct detection results becomes more and more acute with the improved experimental sensitivity. In this work, we extend the NMSSM by inverse seesaw mechanism to generate neutrino mass, and show that in certain para…
In the context of supersymmetric models in which small Dirac neutrino masses are generated by supersymmetry breaking, a mainly right-handed (RH) mixed sneutrino can be an excellent cold dark matter (DM) candidate. We perform a global analysis of the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (MSSM)+RH neutrino parameter space by means of Markov Chain Monte Carlo scans. We include all relevant constraints from collider and dark matter searches, paying particular attention to nuclear and astrophysical uncertainties. Two distinct cases can satisfy all constraints: heavy sneutrino DM with mass of order…
The DAMA annual modulation signature, interpreted as evidence for a spin-independent WIMP coupling, seems in conflict with null results from CDMS. However, in models of ``inelastic dark matter'', the experiments are compatible. Inelastic dark matter can arise in supersymmetric theories as the real component of a sneutrino mixed with a singlet scalar. In contrast with ordinary sneutrino dark matter, such particles can satisfy all experimental constraints while giving the appropriate relic abundance. We discuss the modifications to the signal seen at DAMA, in particular noting the strong suppres…
We study the radiative electroweak symmetry breaking and the relic abundance of neutralino dark matter in the supersymmetric type I seesaw model. In this model, there exist threshold corrections to Higgs bilinear terms coming from heavy singlet sneutrino loops, which make the soft supersymmetry breaking (SSB) mass for up-type Higgs shift at the seesaw scale and thus a minimization condition for the Higgs potential is affected. We show that the required fine-tuning between the Higgsino mass parameter mu and the SSB mass for up-type Higgs may be reduced at the electroweak scale, due to the thres…
The Lightest Supersymmetric Particle (LSP) is generally regarded as higgsino in focus point supersymmetry (SUSY). Under such circumstance it leads to bileptino LSP when the MSSM is extended by $U(1)_{B-L}$ gauge group within the framework of Double Focus Point (DFP) supersymmetry. The bileptino is a copy of higgsino whose partner, bilepton, is used to break $U(1)_{B-L}$ gauge symmetry spontaneously. Such scenario, however, is not favored by direct detection since it leads to unacceptable spin-independent cross section when one requires correct self-scattering cross section. We point out that i…
The discovery of a relatively heavy Standard Model (SM) -like Higgs boson challenges naturalness of the minimal supersymmetric standard model (MSSM) from both Higgs and dark matter (DM) sectors. We study these two aspects in the MSSM extended by the low-scale inverse seesaw mechanism. Firstly, it admits a sizable radiative correction on the Higgs boson mass m_h, up to \sim 4 GeV in the case of an IR-fixed point of the coupling Y_νLH_uν^c and a large sneutrino mixing. Secondly, the lightest sneutrino, highly complex as expected, is a viable thermal DM candidate. Owing to the correct relic densi…
We discuss asymmetric or symmetric dark matter candidate in the supersymmetric Dirac leptogenesis scenario. By introducing a singlet superfield coupling to right-handed neutrinos, the overabundance problem of dark matter can be evaded and various possibilities for dark matter candidate arise. If the singlino is the lightest supersymmetric particle (LSP), it becomes naturally asymmetric dark matter. On the other hand, the right-handed sneutrino is a symmetric dark matter candidate whose relic density can be determined by the usual thermal freeze-out process. The conventional neutralino or gravi…
