We study strange and charmed baryon productions, ${π+ p \rightarrow K(D) + Y(Y_c)}$, where ${Y(Y_c)}$ is a strange(charmed) baryon of a ground or an excited state. We propose a new production mechanism where two quarks in the baryon participate in the reaction (two-quark process), which enables excitation of both $λ$- and $ρ$-modes of the baryons. To deal with the two-quark process, we consider the 't Hooft six-quark interaction from the instanton model. We study production rates in relation with the structure of charmed baryons for the forward angle scattering.
We have systematically investigated the magnetic moments of spin-$\frac{1}{2}$ doubly charmed baryons in the framework of the heavy baryon chiral perturbation theory. In this paper, one loop corrections with intermediate spin-$\frac{1}{2}$ and spin-$\frac{3}{2}$ doubly charmed baryon states are considered. The numerical results are calculated to next-to-leading order: $μ_{Ξ^{++}_{cc}}=0.35μ_{N}$, $μ_{Ξ^{+}_{cc}}=0.62μ_{N}$, $μ_{Ω^{+}_{cc}}=0.41μ_{N}$. Our results may be useful for future experiment and chiral extrapolation of the lattice QCD.
New experimental measurements are used to test model independent sum rules for charmed baryon masses. We use QCD sum rules to study mass spectra of $P$-wave charmed baryons of the $SU(3)$ flavor $\mathbf{6}_F$. We also use light-cone sum rules to study their $S$- and $D$-wave decays into ground-state charmed baryons together with light pseudoscalar and vector mesons. We work within the framework of heavy quark effective theory, and we also consider the mixing effect. Investigating the spectroscopy behavior of undetected $1F$-wave charmed baryons

We present the energy spectra of the low lying doubly-charmed baryons using lattice quantum chromodynamics. We precisely predict the ground state mass of the charmed-strange Omega(cc) (1/2+) baryon to be 3712(11)(12) MeV which could well be the next doubly-charmed baryon to be discovered at the LHCb experiment at CERN. We also predict masses of other doubly-charmed strange baryons with quantum numbers 3/2+, 1/2-, and 3/2-.
A narrow resonance in D*- p and D*+ pbar invariant mass combinations is observed in inelastic electron-proton collisions at centre-of-mass energies of 300 GeV and 320 GeV at HERA. The resonance has a mass of 3099 \pm 3 (stat.) \pm 5 (syst.) MeV and a measured Gaussian width of 12 \pm 3 (stat.) MeV, compatible with the experimental resolution. The resonance is interpreted as an anti-charmed baryon with a minimal constituent quark composition of uuddcbar, together with the charge conjugate.
By an unquenched quark model, we predict a charmed-strange baryon state, namely, the $Ω_{c0}^d(1P,1/2^-)$. Its mass is predicted to be 2945 MeV, which is below the $Ξ_c\bar{K}$ threshold due to the nontrivial coupled-channel effect. So the $Ω_{c0}^d(1P,1/2^-)$ state could be regraded as the analog of the charmed-strange meson $D_{s0}^*(2317)$. It is a good opportunity for the running Belle II experiment to search for this state in the $Ω_c^{(*)}γ$ mass spectrum experiment in the future.
We examine the invariant mass spectrum of $D^{0}p$ in $\bar B^0\to p\bar p D^{0}$ decay measured by BABAR and find that through the 2-step processes of $\bar B^0\to {\bf B_c^+}(\to D^{0} p)\bar p$, where ${\bf B_c}$ denotes a charmed baryon state, some of the peaks can be identified with the established $Σ_c(2800)^+$, $Λ_c(2880)^+$ and $Λ_c(2940)^+$. Moreover, in order to account for the measured spectrum, it is necessary to introduce a new charmed baryon resonance with $(m,\,Γ)=(3212\pm 20,\,167\pm 34)$ MeV.
We study the branching ratios and up-down asymmetries in the charmed baryon weak decays of ${\bf B}_c\to {\bf B}_DM$ with ${\bf B}_{c(D)}$ anti-triplet charmed (decuplet) baryon and $M$ pseudo-scalar meson states based on the flavor symmetry of $SU(3)_F$. We propose equal and physical-mass schemes for the hadronic states to deal with the large variations of the decuplet baryon momenta in the decays in order to fit with the current experimental data. The mass and the wave function of doubly charmed $Ξ^{++}_{cc}$ (ccu) baryon are evaluated using Green Function Monte Carlo method to solve the three-body problem with Cornell potential. The mass of $Ξ^{++}_{cc}$ with spin $1/2$ is in a good agreement with the LHCb value. Simulation of the wave function by random walks resulted in a configuration of the quark-diquark type. The radius of $Ξ^{++}_{cc}$ is much larger than the size needed for a large isospin splitting. The prediction for the $Ω_{cc}$ mass is presented.
We study the mass spectrum of baryons with two and three charmed quarks. For double charm baryons the spin splitting is found to be smaller than standard quark-model potential predictions. This splitting is not influenced either by the particular form of the confining potential or by the regularization taken for the contact term of the spin-spin potential. We consistently predict the spectra for triply charmed baryons.

With the one-boson-exchange model we have studied the possible existence of the very loosely bound hidden-charm molecular baryons composed of anti-charmed meson and charmed baryon. Our numerical results indicate that there exist $Σ_c\bar{D}^*$ states with $I(J^P)=1/2(1/2^-), 1/2(3/2^-), 3/2(1/2^-), 3/2(3/2^-)$ and $Σ_c\bar{D}$ state with $3/2(1/2^-)$. But the $Λ_c \bar{D}$ and $Λ_c \bar{D}^*$ molecular states do not exist.
It is proved that the nonleptonic decay amplitudes of antitriplet charmed baryons to octet baryons do not depend on the representation of the octet baryons in the quark diagram scheme. We provide an extensive study of the lifetimes of singly charmed baryons and mesons, within the heavy quark expansion with all known corrections included. A special attention is devoted to the choice of the charm mass and wavefunctions of heavy baryons. We give our predictions for lifetimes, lifetime ratios, and semileptonic branching ratios of singly charmed baryons. There has been important experimental progress in the sector of heavy baryons in the past several years. We study the strong decays of the S-wave, P-wave, D-wave and radially excited charmed baryons using the $^3P_0$ model. After comparing the calculated decay pattern and total width with the available data, we discuss the possible internal structure and quantum numbers of those charmed baryons observed recently.
We present results for masses of spin-1/2 and spin-3/2 double-charm baryons in quenched lattice QCD, from an exploratory study using a non-perturbatively improved clover action at beta=6.2. We have studied local operators and we observe, after appropriate projections, a good signal for the ground states. In this work, we systematically study the mass spectra and strong decays of $1P$ and $2S$ charmed and charmed-strange baryons in the framework of nonrelativistic constituent quark models. With the light quark cluster-heavy quark picture, the masses are simply calculated by a potential model. The strong decays are studied by the Eichten-Hill-Quigg decay formula. Flavor $SU(3)$ symmetry is a powerful tool to analyze charmed baryon decays. In this work, we propose an approach to generate $SU(3)$ sum rules for the singly and doubly charmed baryon decays without writing the Wigner-Eckhart invariants explicitly. The $SU(3)$ sum rules are computed routinely in several master formulas. Hundreds of $SU(3)$ sum rules are found to serve as test of the flavor symmetry in the charmed baryon decays.
We evaluate exclusive semileptonic decays of ground-state spin-1/2 doubly heavy charmed baryons. The decays are driven by a $c\to s,d$ transition at the quark level. The masses of negative parity $(70,1^-)$ charmed nonstrange baryons are calculated in the relativistic quark model. The relativistic three-quark equations of the $(70,1^-)$ charmed baryon multiplet are found in the framework of the dispersion relation technique. The approximate solutions of these equations using the method based on the extraction of leading singularities of the amplitude are obtained. The calculated mass values of the $(70,1^-)$ charmed baryons are in good agreement with the experimental data.

Our results suggest that the $Ξ_{cc}^{++}$ recently observed by LHCb can be well identified as the $S$-wave $Ξ_{cc}$ state of $J^P = 1/2^+$. We consider the large-$N_c$ operator expansion at subleading orders for current-current correlation functions in the charmed baryon-ground states for two scalar and two axial-vector currents.

We investigate the possible deuteron-like molecules composed of a pair of charmed spin-$\frac{3}{2}$ baryons, or one charmed baryon and one charmed antibaryon within the one-boson-exchange (OBE) model. For the spin singlet and triplet systems, we consider the couple channel effect between systems with different orbital angular momentum. Most of the systems have binding solutions. The couple channel effect plays a significant role in the formation of some loosely bound states. The possible molecular states of $Ω_c^*Ω_c^*$ and $Ω_c^*\barΩ_c^*$ might be stable once produced.
Hadron masses are calculated in quenched lattice QCD with a fermion action of the D234 type on an anisotropic lattice. Hyperfine splittings for singly charmed baryons are found to be in agreement with expectations from the quark model and with a magnitude slightly larger than experimental values. Masses of doubly charmed baryons are also calculated and compared to a variety of model calculations. Hyperfine splittings in doubly charmed baryons are found to be slightly smaller than in singly charmed states.

We extend the analysis of weak decays of heavy hadrons to the case of doubly charmed baryons, Ξ_{cc}^{++}, Ξ_{cc}^{+} and Ω_{cc}^{+}. Doubly charmed baryons are modeled as a heavy-light system containing a heavy cc-diquark and a light quark. Such a model leads to preasymptotic effects in semileptonic and nonleptonic decays which are essentially proportional to the meson wave function. Very clear predictions for semileptonic branching ratios and lifetimes of doubly charmed baryons are obtained.

The high production rate and $\langle x_{F} \rangle > 0.33$ of the doubly charmed baryons measured by the SELEX experiment is not amenable to perturbative QCD analysis. In this paper we calculate the production of the doubly heavy baryons with the double intrinsic charm Fock states whose existence is rigorously predicted by QCD. The production rate and the longitudinal momentum distribution are both reproduced. We also show that the production rates of the doubly charmed baryons and double $J/ψ$ production observed by NA3 collaboration are comparable. Recent experimental results are reviewed. …
