We prove new theorems about properties of generalized functions defined on Gelfand-Shilov spaces $S^β$ with $0\leβ<1$. For each open cone $U\subset\mathbb R^d$ we define a space $S^β(U)$ which is related to $S^β(\mathbb R^d)$ and consists of entire analytic functions rapidly decreasing inside U and having order of growth $\le 1/(1-β)$ outside the cone. Such sheaves of spaces arise naturally in nonlocal quantum field theory, and this motivates our investigation. We prove that the spaces $S^β(U)$ are complete and nuclear and establish a decomposition theorem which implies that every continuous functional defined on $S^β(\mathbb R^d)$ has a unique minimal closed carrier cone in $\mathbb R^d$. We also prove kernel theorems for spaces over open and closed cones and elucidate the relation between the carrier cones of multilinear forms and those of the generalized functions determined by these forms.
In this paper, we give some results concerning atomic decompositions for operators on reproducing kernel Hilbert spaces, using frame theory techniques. We provide also generalizations for atomic decompositions of some theorems for reproducing kernel Hilbert spaces. In particular, we obtain atomic decomposition results for operators on Bergman spaces and Fock spaces in a simple manner.
We prove that any linear operator with kernel in a Gelfand-Shilov space is a composition of two operators with kernels in the same Gelfand-Shilov space. We also give links on numerical approximations for such compositions. We apply these composition rules to establish Schatten-von Neumann properties for such operators.
A certain kernel (sometimes called the Pick kernel) associated to Schur functions on the disk is always positive semi-definite. A generalization of this fact is well-known for Schur functions on the polydisk. In this article, we show that the Pick kernel on the polydisk has a great deal of structure beyond being positive semi-definite. It can always be split into two kernels possessing certain shift invariance properties.
We characterize the reproducing kernel Hilbert spaces whose elements are $p$-integrable functions in terms of the boundedness of the integral operator whose kernel is the reproducing kernel. Moreover, for $p=2$ we show that the spectral decomposition of this integral operator gives a complete description of the reproducing kernel.
Classical and non classical Besov and Triebel-Lizorkin spaces with complete range of indices are developed in the general setting of Dirichlet space with a doubling measure and local scale-invariant Poincaré inequality. This leads to Heat kernel with small time Gaussian bounds and Hölder continuity, which play a central role in this article. Frames with band limited elements of sub-exponential space localization are developed, and frame and heat kernel characterizations of Besov and Triebel-Lizorkin spaces are established. This theory, in particular, allows to develop Besov and Triebel-Lizorki…
Reproducing kernel Hilbert spaces (RKHSs) play an important role in many statistics and machine learning applications ranging from support vector machines to Gaussian processes and kernel embeddings of distributions. Operators acting on such spaces are, for instance, required to embed conditional probability distributions in order to implement the kernel Bayes rule and build sequential data models. It was recently shown that transfer operators such as the Perron-Frobenius or Koopman operator can also be approximated in a similar fashion using covariance and cross-covariance operators and that …

This manuscript gives a theoretical framework for a new Hilbert space of functions, the so called occupation kernel Hilbert space (OKHS), that operate on collections of signals rather than real or complex numbers. To support this new definition, an explicit class of OKHSs is given through the consideration of a reproducing kernel Hilbert space (RKHS). This space enables the definition of nonlocal operators, such as fractional order Liouville operators, as well as spectral decomposition methods for corresponding fractional order dynamical systems. In this manuscript, a fractional order DMD rout…
This paper ist concerned with recent progress in the context of coorbit space theory. Based on a square integrable group representation, the coorbit theory provides new families of associated smoothness spaces, where the smoothness of a function is measured by the decay of the associated voice transform. Moreover, by discretizing the representation, atomic decomposi- tions and Banach frames can be constructed. Usually, the whole machinery works well if the associated reproducing kernel is integrable with respect to a weighted Haar measure on the group. In recent studies, it has turned out that…
We establish a duality for two factorization questions, one for general positive definite (p.d) kernels $K$, and the other for Gaussian processes, say $V$. The latter notion, for Gaussian processes is stated via Ito-integration. Our approach to factorization for p.d. kernels is intuitively motivated by matrix factorizations, but in infinite dimensions, subtle measure theoretic issues must be addressed. Consider a given p.d. kernel $K$, presented as a covariance kernel for a Gaussian process $V$. We then give an explicit duality for these two seemingly different notions of factorization, for p.…
We show that certain monotone functionals on the Hardy spaces and convex functionals on the Bergman spaces are maximized at the normalized reproducing kernels among the functions of norm $1$, thus proving the contractivity conjecture of Pavlović and of Brevig, Ortega-Cerdà, Seip and Zhao and the Wehrl-type entropy conjecture for the $SU(1,1)$ group of Lieb and Solovej, respectively.
The main result of this paper, Theorem 1.1, gives explicit formulae for the kernels of the ergodic decomposition measures for infinite Pickrell measures on spaces of infinite complex matrices. The kernels are obtained as the scaling limits of Christoffel-Uvarov deformations of Jacobi orthogonal polynomial ensembles.
We present a Lebesgue-type decomposition for a representable functional on a $^*$-algebra into absolutely continuous and singular parts with respect to an other. This generalizes the corresponding results of S. P. Gudder for unital Banach $^*$-algebras. We also prove that the corresponding absolutely continuous parts are absolutely continuous with respect to each other.
Summarizing basic facts from abstract topological modules over Colombeau generalized complex numbers we discuss duality of Colombeau algebras. In particular, we focus on generalized delta functionals and operator kernels as elements of dual spaces. A large class of examples is provided by pseudodifferential operators acting on Colombeau algebras. By a refinement of symbol calculus we review a new characterization of the wave front set for generalized functions with applications to microlocal analysis.
We study several sufficient conditions for the existence of a Lévy-Khinchin decomposition of generating functionals. We show that none of these conditions are equivalent and we show that such a decomposition does not always exist.
The present paper is devoted to a theory of profile decomposition for bounded sequences in \emph{homogeneous} Sobolev spaces, and it enables us to analyze the lack of compactness of bounded sequences. For every bounded sequence in homogeneous Sobolev spaces, the sequence is asymptotically decomposed into the sum of profiles with dilations and translations and a double suffixed residual term. One gets an energy decomposition in the homogeneous Sobolev norm. The residual term becomes arbitrarily small in the critical Lebesgue or Sobolev spaces of lower order, and then, the results of decompositi…
The present paper is devoted to analysis of the lack of compactness of bounded sequences in \emph{inhomogeneous} Sobolev spaces, where bounded sequences might fail to be compact due to an isometric group action, that is, \emph{translation}. It will be proved that every bounded sequence $(u_n)$ has (possibly infinitely many) \emph{profiles}, and then the sequence is asymptotically decomposed into a sum of translated profiles and a double-suffixed residual term, where the residual term becomes arbitrarily small in appropriate Lebesgue or Sobolev spaces of lower order. To this end, functional ana…
We prove an analogue of the Lebesgue decomposition for continuous functionals on the commutant modulo a reflexive normed ideal of an n-tuple of hermitian operators for which there are quasicentral approximate units relative to the normed ideal. Using results of Godefroy-Talagrand and Pfitzner we derive from this strong uniqueness of the predual of such a commutant modulo a normed ideal.

We study the structure of bounded linear functionals on a class of non-self-adjoint operator algebras that includes the multiplier algebra of every complete Nevanlinna-Pick space, and in particular the multiplier algebra of the Drury-Arveson space. Our main result is a Lebesgue decomposition expressing every linear functional as the sum of an absolutely continuous (i.e. weak-* continuous) linear functional, and a singular linear functional that is far from being absolutely continuous. This is a non-self-adjoint analogue of Takesaki's decomposition theorem for linear functionals on von Neumann …
