Thermodynamics of Plasmaballs and Plasmarings in 3+1 Dimensions

We study localized plasma configurations in 3+1 dimensional massive field theories obtained by Scherk-Schwarz compactification of 4+1 dimensional CFT to predict the thermodynamic properties of localized blackholes and blackrings in Scherk-Schwarz compactified $AdS_6$ using the AdS/CFT correspondence. We present an exact solution to the relativistic Navier-Stokes equation in the thin ring limit of the fluid configuration. On Self-dual Gravity Structures on Ground Ring Manifolds in Two-Dimensional String Theory

We generalize the geometric structures generated by Witten's ground ring. It is shown that these generalized structures involve in a natural way some geometric constructions from Self-dual gravity [1,12]. The formal twistor construction on full quantum ground ring manifold is also given.

Black Rings in U(1)^3 Supergravity and their dual 2d CFT

We study the near horizon geometry of black ring solutions in five-dimensional U(1)^3 supergravity with three electric dipole charges and one angular momentum. We consider the extremal vanishing horizon (EVH) limit of these solutions and show that the near horizon geometries develop locally AdS_3 throats which at the near-EVH near horizon limit the AdS_3 factor turns to a BTZ black hole. By analysing the first law of thermodynamics for black rings we show that at EVH limit it reduces to the first law of thermodynamics for BTZ black holes. Dual 2d CFT Identification of Extremal Black Rings from Holes

Five dimensional Einstein gravity vacuum solutions in general fall into two classes of black rings with horizon topology S^2 \times S^1, and black holes with horizon topology S^3. These solutions are specified by their mass and two spins. There are "overlapping" regions of this parameter space where one has extremal rings and holes of the same spins. We show that for such regions the hole has generically a larger entropy than the ring, and likewise, the central charge of the proposed chiral 2d CFT dual to the hole is larger than that of the ring. CFT Duals of Black Rings With Higher Derivative Terms

We study possible CFT duals of supersymmetric five dimensional black rings in the presence of supersymmetric higher derivative corrections to the N=2 supergravity action.
