We explain how the kind of ``parallel transport'' of a wavefunction used in discussing the Berry or Geometrical phase induces the conventional parallel transport of certain real vectors. These real vectors are associated with operators whose commutators yield diagonal operators; or in Lie algebras those operators whose commutators are in the (diagonal) Cartan subalgebra.

Based on quantum mechanical approach the polarization transport of photons which propagate in a medium with slow varying refractive index is studied. The photon polarizations are separated in opposite directions normal to the ray which is called "Spin Hall effect" of photons, and also the rotation of polarization plane, a manifestation of the Berry phase, occurs. This approach can be generalized to other spinning particles in inhomogeneous media as a universal approach.

We investigate the mechanism of heat conduction in ordered and disordered harmonic onedimensional chains within the quantum mechanical Langevin method. In the case of the disordered chains we find indications for normal heat conduction which means that there is a finite temperature gradient but we cannot clearly decide whether the heat resistance increases linearly with the chain length. We report the realization of dynamical localization in a strongly driven two-mode optomechanical system consisting of two coupled cantilevers. Due to the coupling, mechanical oscillations can transport between the cantilevers.
