We propose a scheme to eliminate the effect of non-nearest-neighbor qubits in preparing cluster state with double-dot molecules. As the interaction Hamiltonians between qubits are Ising-model and mutually commute, we can get positive and negative effective interactions between qubits to cancel the effect of non-nearest-neighbor qubits by properly changing the electron charge states of each quantum dot molecule. The total time for the present multi-step cluster state preparation scheme is only doubled for one-dimensional qubit chain and tripled for two-dimensional qubit array comparing with the time of previous protocol leaving out the non-nearest-neighbor interactions.
We present an approach to single-shot high-fidelity preparation of an $n$-qubit state based on neighboring optimal control theory. This represents a new application of the neighboring optimal control formalism which was originally developed to produce single-shot high-fidelity quantum gates. To illustrate the approach, and to provide a proof-of-principle, we use it to prepare the two qubit Bell state $|β_{01}\rangle = (1/\sqrt{2})\left[\, |01\rangle + |10\rangle\,\right]$ with an error probability $ε\sim 10^{-6}$ ($10^{-5}$) for ideal (non-ideal) control. Using standard methods in the literatu…
The measure of distinguishability between two neighboring preparations of a physical system by a measurement apparatus naturally defines the line element of the preparation space of the system. We point out that quantum mechanics can be derived from the invariance of this line element in the canonical formulation. The canonical formulation of quantum statistical mechanics is also discussed.
Future quantum internet applications will derive their power from the ability to share quantum information across the network. Quantum teleportation allows for the reliable transfer of quantum information between distant nodes, even in the presence of highly lossy network connections. While many experimental demonstrations have been performed on different quantum network platforms, moving beyond directly connected nodes has so far been hindered by the demanding requirements on the pre-shared remote entanglement, joint qubit readout and coherence times. Here we realize quantum teleportation bet…
We investigate the possibility of using a dissipative process to prepare a quantum system in a desired state. We derive for any multipartite pure state a dissipative process for which this state is the unique stationary state and solve the corresponding master equation analytically. For certain states, like the Cluster states, we use this process to show that the jump operators can be chosen quasi-locally, i.e. they act non-trivially only on a few, neighboring qubits. Furthermore, the relaxation time of this dissipative process is independent of the number of subsystems. We demonstrate the gen…

We propose a scheme to achieve the quantum state transfer via the topological protected edge channel based on a one dimensional frequency-modulated optomechanical array. We find that the optomechanical array can be mapped into a Su-Schrieffer-Heeger model after eliminating the counter rotating wave terms via frequency modulations. By dint of the edge channel of the Su-Schrieffer-Heeger model, we show that the quantum state transfer between the photonic left edge state and the photonic right edge state can be achieved with a high fidelity. Specially, our scheme can also achieve another phononic…
We investigate the fidelity of the measurement-based quantum computation (MBQC) when it is coupled with boson environment, by measuring cluster state fidelity and gate fidelity. Two different schemes of cluster state preparation are studied. In the Controlled-Z (CZ) creation scheme, cluster states are prepared by entangling all qubits in $|+\rangle$ state with CZ gates on all neighboring sites. The fidelity shows an oscillation pattern over time evolution. The influence of environment temperature is evaluated, and suggestions are given to enhance the performance of MBQC realized in this way. I…
High-fidelity qubit initialization is of significance for efficient error correction in fault tolerant quantum algorithms. Combining two best worlds, speed and robustness, to achieve high-fidelity state preparation and manipulation is challenging in quantum systems, where qubits are closely spaced in frequency. Motivated by the concept of shortcut to adiabaticity, we theoretically propose the shortcut pulses via inverse engineering and further optimize the pulses with respect to systematic errors in frequency detuning and Rabi frequency. Such protocol, relevant to frequency selectivity, is app…
Single electron spins confined in silicon quantum dots hold great promise as a quantum computing architecture with demonstrations of long coherence times, high-fidelity quantum logic gates, basic quantum algorithms and device scalability. While single-shot spin detection is now a laboratory routine, the need for quantum error correction in a large-scale quantum computing device demands a quantum non-demolition (QND) implementation. Unlike conventional counterparts, the QND spin readout imposes minimal disturbance to the probed spin polarization and can therefore be repeated to extinguish measu…
