We propose a scheme to obtain soliton atom laser with nonclassical atoms based on quantum state transfer process from light to matter waves in nonlinear case, which may find novel applications in, e.g., an atom interferometer. The dynamics of the atomic gray solitons and the accompanied frequency chirp effect are discussed.

Quantum photon-number fluctuation and correlation of bound soliton pairs in mode-locked fiber lasers are studied based on the complex Ginzburg-Landau equation model. We find that, depending on their phase difference, the total photon-number noise of the bound soliton pair can be larger or smaller than that of a single soliton and the two solitons in the soliton pairs are with positive or negative photon-number correlation, correspondingly. It is predicted for the first time that out-of-phase soliton pairs can exhibit less noises due to negative correlation.
We find a set of exact solutions of coherent bright solitons in the quasi-one-dimensional (1D) Bose-Einstein condensate (BEC) trapped in a harmonic potential, by using a Gaussian laser well (barrier) with oscillating position to balance the repulsive (attractive) interatomic interaction. There are two main approaches to generate the negative energy density (NED) in the literature. The Casimir effect and the squeezed vacuum. The possibility of the latter approach is qualitatively reviewed in this paper. It is proposed that the soliton theory may give remarkable contributions to generate and separate the NED out of the quantum vacuum. By applying the wavelength-division multiplexing (WDM) method on the solitonized laser beams which give rise the squeezed regions of the vacuum, it is shown the solitons' properties can be useful to the chosen approach.
Quantum correlations in pairs and arrays (trains) of bound solitons modeled by the complex Ginzburg-Landau equation (CGLE) are calculated numerically, on the basis of linearized equations for quantum fluctuations. In the framework of the nonlinear $Λ$-model we investigate propagation of a slow-light soliton in atomic vapors and Bose-Einstein condensates. The velocity of the slow-light soliton is controlled by a time-dependent background field created by a controlling laser. For a fairly arbitrary time dependence of the field we find the dynamics of the slow-light soliton inside the medium. We provide an analytical description for the nonlinear dependence of the velocity of the signal on the controlling field. We report on the observation of dispersion-managed (DM) dark soliton emission in a net-normal dispersion erbium-doped fiber laser. We found experimentally that dispersion management could not only reduce the pump threshold for the dark soliton formation in a fiber laser, but also stabilize the single dark soliton evolution in the cavity. Numerical simulations have also confirmed the DM dark soliton formation in a fiber laser.
We report on the experimental observation of a new type of dark soliton in a fiber laser made of all normal group velocity dispersion fibers. It was shown that the soliton is formed due to the cross coupling between two different wavelength laser beams and has the characteristic of separating the two different wavelength laser emissions. Moreover, we show experimentally that the dual-wavelength dark solitons have a much lower pump threshold than that of the nonlinear Schrödinger equation dark solitons formed in the same laser.

We study quantum dynamics of bosonic atoms that are excited to form a phase kink, or several kinks, by an imprinting potential in a one-dimensional trap. We calculate dissipation due to quantum and thermal fluctuations in soliton trajectories, collisions and the core structure. Single-shot runs show weak filling of a soliton core, typically deeper solitons in the case of stronger fluctuations and spreading/disappearing solitons due to collisions. We also analyze a soliton system in an optical lattice that shows especially strong fluctuation-induced phenomena.
