Steering Distillation by "Pulsed" and "Continuous" Measurements

A new systematic strategy for steering the distillation process for a quantum system, that utilizes the so-called "pulsed" and "continuous" measurements on another quantum system in interaction with the former, is proposed. The distillation process characterized by the specific interaction between the two systems and the "pulsed" measurements is shown to be controllable through the "continuous" measurements, i.e., the quantum Zeno dynamics, providing an effective recipe to prefix the target.

Scalable quantum simulation of pulsed entanglement and Einstein-Podolsky-Rosen steering in optomechanics

We demonstrate a complete, probabilistic quantum dynamical simulation of the standard nonlinear Hamiltonian of optomechanics, including decoherence at finite temperatures. Robust entanglement of an optical pulse with the oscillator is predicted, as well as strong quantum steering between the optical and mechanical systems. Importantly, our probabilistic quantum simulation method uses the positive-P technique, which is scalable to large Hilbert spaces.

Einstein-Podolsky-Rosen paradox and quantum steering in pulsed optomechanics

We describe how to generate an Einstein-Podolsky-Rosen (EPR) paradox between a mesoscopic mechanical oscillator and an optical pulse. We find two types of paradox, defined by whether it is the oscillator or the pulse that shows the effect Schrodinger called "steering". Only the oscillator paradox addresses the question of mesoscopic local reality for a massive system. Distillation of quantum steering

We show -- both theoretically and experimentally -- that Einstein-Podolsky-Rosen steering can be distilled. We present a distillation protocol that outputs a perfectly correlated system -- the singlet assemblage -- in the asymptotic infinite-copy limit, even for inputs that are arbitrarily close to being unsteerable. As figures of merit for the protocol's performance, we introduce the assemblage fidelity and the singlet-assemblage fraction.
