High-Visibility Time-Bin Entanglement for Testing Chained Bell Inequalities

The violation of Bell's inequality requires a well-designed experiment to validate the result. In experiments using energy-time and time-bin entanglement, initially proposed by Franson in 1989, there is an intrinsic loophole due to the high postselection. To obtain a violation in this type of experiment, a chained Bell inequality must be used. However, the local realism bound requires a high visibility in excess of 94.63 percent in the time-bin entangled state. In this work, we show how such a high visibility can be reached in order to violate a chained Bell inequality with 6, 8 and 10 terms.

Visibility-based hypothesis testing using higher-order optical interference

Many quantum information protocols rely on optical interference to compare datasets with efficiency or security unattainable by classical means. Testing locality and noncontextuality with the lowest moments

The quest for fundamental test of quantum mechanics is an ongoing effort. We here address the question of what are the lowest possible moments needed to prove quantum nonlocality and noncontextuality without any further assumption -- in particular without the often assumed dichotomy. More non-locality in the three-qubit Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger state

The non-local properties of the noisy three-qubit Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger (GHZ) states parameterized by the visibility 0<v<1 are investigated. Based on the violation of the 2x2x2-setting Mermin inequality, the noisy three-qubit GHZ states are non-local for the parameter range 1/2<v<1. Testing quantum nonlocality by generalized quasiprobability functions

We derive a Bell inequality based on a generalized quasiprobability function which is parameterized by one non-positive real value. Two types of known Bell inequalities formulated in terms of the Wigner and Q functions are included as limiting cases. We investigate violations of our Bell inequalities for single photon entangled states and two-mode squeezed vacuum states when varying the detector efficiency. Testing complementarity on a transmon quantum processor

We propose quantum circuits to test interferometric complementarity using symmetric two-way interferometers coupled to a which-path detector.
