Stability and dynamics across magnetic phases of vortex-bright type excitations in spinor Bose-Einstein condensates

The static properties, i.e., existence and stability, as well as the quench-induced dynamics of vortex-bright type excitations in two-dimensional harmonically confined spin-1 Bose-Einstein condensates are investigated. Linearly stable vortex-bright-vortex and bright-vortex-bright solutions arise in both antiferromagnetic and ferromagnetic spinor gases upon quadratic Zeeman energy shift variations. Neutral vortex necklace in a trapped planar superfluid

We study quantum vortex states consisting of a ring of vortices with alternating sign, in a homogeneous superfluid confined to a circular domain. We find an exact stationary solution of the point vortex model for the neutral vortex necklace. We investigate the stability of the necklace state within both the point-vortex model and the Gross-Pitaevskii equation describing a trapped atomic Bose-Einstein condensate at low temperature. Quasi-stable quantum vortex knots and links in anisotropic harmonically trapped Bose-Einstein condensates

Long-time existence of topologically nontrivial configurations of quantum vortices in the form of torus knots and links in trapped Bose-Einstein condensates is demonstrated numerically within the three-dimensional Gross-Pitaevskii equation with external anisotropic parabolic potential. We find out parametric domains near the trap anisotropy -- axial over planar frequency trapping ratio $λ\approx 1.5-1.6$ where the lifetime of such quasi-stationary rotating vortex structures is many hundreds of typical rotation times. Coherent transfer of the transverse momentum of an optical vortex beam to the motion of a single trapped ion

We demonstrate the excitation, using a structured light beam carrying orbital angular momentum, of the center of mass motion of a single atom in the transverse direction to the beam's propagation. This interaction is achieved with a vortex beam carrying one unit of orbital angular momentum and one unit of spin/polarization angular momentum.
