Generation of Polarization Squeezing with Periodically Poled KTP at 1064 nm

We report the experimental demonstration of directly produced polarization squeezing at 1064 nm from a type I optical parametric amplifier (OPA) based on a periodically poled KTP crystal (PPKTP). The orthogonal polarization modes of the polarization squeezed state are both defined by the OPA cavity mode, and the birefringence induced by the PPKTP crystal is compensated for by a second, but inactive, PPKTP crystal. Stokes parameter squeezing of 3.6 dB and anti squeezing of 9.4 dB is observed.

Low random duty-cycle errors in periodically-poled KTP revealed by sum-frequency generation

Low-noise quantum frequency conversion in periodically-poled nonlinear crystals has proved challenging when the pump wavelength is shorter than the target wavelength. This is - at least in large part - a consequence of the parasitic spontaneous parametric down-conversion of pump photons, whose efficiency is increased by fabrication errors in the periodic poling. Observation of triply coincident nonlinearities in periodically poled KTiOPO4

We report the simultaneous quasi-phase-matching of all three possible nonlinearities for propagation along the X axis of periodocally poled (PP) KTiOPO4 (KTP) for second-harmonic generation of 745 nm pulsed light from 1490nm subpicosecond pulses in a PPKTP crystal with a 45.65 micrometer poling period. Spatial and spectral properties of the pulsed second-harmonic generation in a PP-KTP waveguide

Spatial and spectral properties of the pulsed second harmonic generation in a periodically-poled KTP waveguide exploiting simultaneously the first, second, and third harmonics of periodic nonlinear modulation are analyzed. Experimental results are interpreted using a model based on finite elements method. Correlations between spatial and spectral properties of the fundamental and second-harmonic fields are revealed. Individual nonlinear processes can be exploited combining spatial and spectral filtering. Also the influence of waveguide parameters to the second-harmonic spectra is addressed.

A novel single-crystal & single-pass source for polarisation- and colour-entangled photon pairs

We demonstrate a new generation mechanism for polarisation- and colour-entangled photon pairs. In our approach we tailor the phase-matching of a periodically poled KTP crystal such that two downconversion processes take place simultaneously. Improvement of vacuum squeezing resonant on the rubidium D1 line at 795 nm

We report on efficient generation of second harmonic laser and single-mode vacuum squeezed light of 795 nm with periodically poled KTiOPO4 (PPKTP) crystals. We achieved 111 mW of ultra-violet (UV) light at 397.5 nm from 191 mW of fundamental light with a PPKTP crystal in a doubling cavity, corresponding to a conversion efficiency of 58.1%. Generation of degenerate, factorizable, pulsed squeezed light at telecom wavelengths

We characterize a periodically poled KTP crystal that produces an entangled, two-mode, squeezed state with orthogonal polarizations, nearly identical, factorizable frequency modes, and few photons in unwanted frequency modes. Cavity-enhanced sum-frequency generation of blue light with near-unity conversion efficiency

We report on double-resonant highly efficient sum-frequency generation in the blue range. The system consists of a 10-mm-long periodically poled KTP crystal placed in a double-resonant bow-tie cavity and pumped by a fiber laser at 1064.5 nm and a Ti:sapphire laser at 849.2 nm.
