Hybrid simulation of energetic particles interacting with magnetohydrodynamics using a slow manifold algorithm and GPU acceleration

The hybrid method combining particle-in-cell and magnetohydrodynamics can be used to study the interaction between energetic particles and global plasma modes. In this paper we introduce the M3D-C1-K code, which is developed based on the M3D-C1 finite element code solving the magnetohydrodynamics equations, with a newly developed kinetic module simulating energetic particles. Exact solution for large amplitude circularly polarized electromagnetic waves in incompressible spin quantum Hall magnetohydrodynamics

It is shown that incompressible spin quantum Hall magnetohydrodynamics allows an exact solution for the propagation of a circularly polarized electromagnetic wave. The solution is obtained assuming a condition between the fluid velocity and the magnetic field which eliminates the nonlinear terms in Maxwell equations. As a result of the coupling with spin, the propagation mode depends on the amplitude of the magnetic field. From the full solution, the limits of small and large wavenumber are studied obtaining linear and a nonlinear spin-modified modes.

The Effect of the Pauli Spin Matrices on the Quantum Lattice Algorithm for Maxwell Equations in Inhomogeneous Media

A quantum lattice algorithm (QLA) is developed for the solution of Maxwell equations in scalar dielectric media using the Riemann-Silberstein representation. For x-dependent and y-dependent inhomogeneities, the corresponding QLA requries 8 qubits/spatial lattice site. Spin evolution opened a large field in quantum plasma research. The spin waves in plasmas were considered among new phenomena considered in spin-1/2 quantum plasmas.
