Design of laser-electron storage ring lattice dedicated to generation of intense X-rays under Compton scattering

The lattice of laser-electron storage ring with controlled momentum compaction factor dedicated to generation of intense X-rays under Compton scattering is described. In such storage ring one can achieve the large energy acceptance and keep the long-term stable motion of electron beam with large energy spread. The intensity of X-rays may be very stable due to using of electron beam with steady-state parameters for Compton scattering. Parameters of the storage ring, electron beam and X-rays obtained by electron beam dynamics simulation involving Compton scattering are presented.

Space-Charge Simulation of Integrable Rapid Cycling Synchrotron

Integrable optics is an innovation in particle accelerator design that enables strong nonlinear focusing without generating parametric resonances. We use the Synergia tracking code to investigate the application of integrable optics to high-intensity hadron rings. We consider an integrable rapid-cycling synchrotron (iRCS) designed to replace the Fermilab Booster. Lowering the Light Speed Isotropy Limit: European Synchrotron Radiation Facility Measurements

The measurement of the Compton edge of the scattered electrons in GRAAL facility in European Synchrotron Radiation Facility (ESRF) in Grenoble with respect to the Cosmic Microwave Background dipole reveals up to 10 sigma variations larger than the statistical errors. We now show that the variations are not due to the frequency variations of the accelerator. The nature of Compton edge variations remains unclear, thus outlining the imperative of dedicated studies of light speed anisotropy.
