This paper is devoted to the theoretical and experimental demonstration of the possibility to perform time-resolved diffusing wave spectroscopy: we successfully registered field fluctuations for selected photon path lengths that can overpass 300 transport mean free paths. Such a performance opens new possibilities for biomedical optics applications.

Time-resolved diffusing wave spectroscopy applied to dynamic heterogeneity imaging

We report in this paper what is to our knowledge the first observation of a time-resolved diffusing wave spectroscopy signal recorded by transillumination through a thick turbid medium: the DWS signal is measured for a fixed photon transit time, which opens the possibility of improving the spatial resolution. This technique could find biomedical applications, especially in mammography.

Enabling control over a spontaneous dynamic process is a very complicated task in practice because of its statistical nature, and electro-optic (E-O) relaxation dynamic in a nematic liquid crystal (NLC) system is not an exception. Spatially resolved spectroscopy of alkali metal vapour diffusing inside hollow-core photonic crystal fibres

We present a new type of compact and all-glass based vapour cell integrating hollow-core photonic crystal fibres. The absence of metals, as in a traditional vacuum chamber and the much more compact geometry allows for fast and homogeneous heating. As a consequence we can fill the fibres on much faster timescales, ranging from minutes to hours. Additionally the all-glass design ensures optical access along the fibre. On signatures of sonic wavepackets in time-resolved X-ray diffractometry of metal single crystals absorbing pulse from ultrafast laser

Copper (Cu), gold (Au) (111) crystals were illuminated with 120 fs pulses and probed by 600 fs X-ray pulses. Rocking curves were measured versus 267 nm (UV) pump- 0.154 nm probe delay time. Curve width broadening, peak diffracted intensity and angular shift were recorded for the range of UV excitation intensities of 2-8 mJ/cm2 . Collinear, two-color optical Kerr effect shutter for ultrafast time-resolved imaging

Imaging with ultrashort exposure times is generally achieved with a crossed-beam geometry. We introduce THz Stark spectroscopy by using intense single-cycle terahertz pulses as the electric field source and monitoring the induced spectral response of an isotropic molecular ensemble with a coincident femtosecond supercontinuum pulse. Mid-infrared dual-comb spectroscopy with electro-optic modulators

We demonstrate dual-comb spectroscopy based on difference frequency generation of frequency-agile near-infrared frequency combs, produced with the help of electro-optic modulators. The combs have a remarkably flat intensity distribution and their positions and line spacings can be selected freely by simply dialing a knob. We record, in the 3-micron region, Doppler-limited absorption spectra with resolved comb lines within milliseconds. Precise molecular line parameters are retrieved. Our technique holds promise for fast and sensitive time-resolved studies e.g. of trace gases.
