A note on the polarization of the laser field in Mott Scattering

In the first Born approximation and using an elliptically polarized laser field, the Mott scattering of an electron by a Coulomb potential is investigated using the Dirac-Volkov states to describe the incident and scattered electrons. The results obtained are compared with the results of S.M. Li \textit{et al} \cite{1} for the case of a linearly polarized laser field and with the results of Y. Attaourti \textit{et al} \cite{2} for the case of a circular polarization.

Mott scattering of polarized electrons in a strong laser field

We present analytical and numerical results of the relativistic calculation of the transition matrix element $S_{fi}$ and differential cross section for Mott scattering of initially polarized Dirac particles (electrons) in the presence of strong laser field with linear polarization. We use exact Dirac-Volkov wave functions to describe the dressed electrons and the collision process is treated in the first Born approximation. The influence of the laser field on the degree of polarization of the scattered electron is reported.

Mott scattering in strong laser field revisited

In this work, we review and correct the first Born differential cross section for the process of Mott scattering of a Dirac-Volkov electron, namely, the expression (26) derived by Szymanowski et al [Physical Review A {\bf 56}, 3846 (1997)]. We present a study of Mott scattering of polarized electrons in the presence of a laser field with circular polarization using the helicity formalism and the introduction of the well known concept of non flip differential cross section as well as that of flip differential cross section. We study the electron scatter from the freely movable spin-$\frac{1}{2}$ particle in the presence of a linearly polarized laser field in the first Born approximation. Laser control of ultracold molecule formation: The case of RbSr

We have studied the formation of ultracold RbSr molecules with laser pulses. After discussing the advantages of the Mott insulator phase for the control with pulses, we present two classes of strategies. The first class involves two electronic states. Two extensions of stimulated Raman adiabatic passage (STIRAP) for multi-level transitions are used : alternating STIRAP (A-STIRAP) and straddle STIRAP (S-STIRAP). Beat note stabilization of mode-locked lasers for quantum information processing

We stabilize a chosen radiofrequency beat note between two optical fields derived from the same mode-locked laser pulse train, in order to coherently manipulate quantum information. This scheme does not require access or active stabilization of the laser repetition rate. We implement and characterize this external lock, in the context of two-photon stimulated Raman transitions between the hyperfine ground states of trapped 171-Yb+ quantum bits.

Doppler-free spectroscopy on Cs D$_1$ line with a dual-frequency laser

We report on Doppler-free laser spectroscopy in a Cs vapor cell using a dual-frequency laser system tuned on the Cs D$_1$ line. Using counter-propagating beams with crossed linear polarizations, an original sign-reversal of the usual saturated absorption dip and large increase in Doppler-free atomic absorption is observed. The scattering of a positron by a muon in the presence of a linearly polarized laser field is investigated in the first Born approximation. Polarization and ellipticity of high-order harmonics from aligned molecules generated by linearly polarized intense laser pulses

We present theoretical calculations for polarization and ellipticity of high-order harmonics from aligned N$_2$, CO$_2$, and O$_2$ molecules generated by linearly polarized lasers.
