We introduce and study higher depth quantum modular forms. We construct two families of examples coming from rank two false theta functions, whose "companions" in the lower half-plane can be also realized both as double Eichler integrals and as non-holomorphic theta series having values of "double error" functions as coefficients. In particular, we prove that the false theta of $\frak{sl}_3$, appearing in the character of the vertex algebra $W^0(p)_{A_2}$, can be written as the sum of two depth two quantum modular forms of positive integral weight.
We prove some results which extend the classical theory, due to Hecke-Schoeneberg, of the transformation laws of theta functions. Although our results are classical in natural, they were suggested by recent work involving modular-invariance in conformal field theory.
We extend the modular invariance property of the trace functions of vertex operator algebra on the set of irreducible modules (Zhu's theory) to the case of trace functions of intertwining operators.
For a given modular tensor category we study representations of the corresponding tube category whose isomorphism classes are modular invariant matrices. In particular, we provide a characterization of these representations in terms of the annular graphical calculus of the tube category.
Elliptic Macdonald polynomials of sl(2)-type and level 2 are introduced. Suitable limits of elliptic Macdonald polynomials are the standard Macdonald polynomials and conformal blocks. Identities for elliptic Macdonald polynomials, in particular their modular properties, are studied.
We show that a general miraculous cancellation formula, the divisibility of certain characteristic numbers and some other topologiclal results are con- sequences of the modular invariance of elliptic operators on loop spaces. Previously we have shown that modular invariance also implies the rigidity of many elliptic operators on loop spaces.
We study modular transformation properties of a class of indefinite theta series involved in characters of infinite-dimensional Lie superalgebras. The \textit{level-$\ell$ Appell functions} $K_\ell$ satisfy open quasiperiodicity relations with additive theta-function terms emerging in translating by the ``period.'' Generalizing the well-known interpretation of theta functions as sections of line bundles, the $K_\ell$ function enters the construction of a section of a rank-$(\ell+1)$ bundle $V(\ell,τ)$. We evaluate modular transformations of the $K_\ell$ functions and construct the action of an…
In this paper we construct the quantum group, at roots of unity, of abelian Chern-Simons theory. We then use it to model classical theta functions and the actions of the Heisenberg and modular groups on them.
In this paper we prove the existence and uniqueness of a topological quantum field theory that incorporates, for all Riemann surfaces, the corresponding spaces of theta functions and the actions of the Heisenberg groups and modular groups on them.
We show the modular properties of the multiple 'elliptic' gamma functions, which are an extension of those of the theta function and the elliptic gamma function. The modular property of the theta function is known as Jacobi's transformation, and that of the elliptic gamma function was provided by Felder and Varchenko. In this paper we deal with the multiple sine functions, since the modular properties of the multiple elliptic gamma functions result from the equivalence between two ways to represent the multiple sine functions as infinite product. We also derive integral representations of the …
We present a theta function representation of the twisted characters for the rational N=2 superconformal field theory, and discuss the Jacobi-form like functional properties of these characters for a fixed central charge under the action of a finite Heisenberg group and modular transformations.
