A Riemann-Roch-Hirzebruch formula for traces of differential operators

Let D be a holomorphic differential operator acting on sections of a holomorphic vector bundle on an n-dimensional compact complex manifold. We prove a formula, conjectured by Feigin and Shoikhet, for the Lefschetz number of D as the integral over the manifold of a differential form. The class of this differential form is obtained via formal differential geometry from the canonical generator of the Hochschild cohomology of the algebra of differential operators in a formal neighbourhood of a point. If D is the identity, the formula reduces to the Riemann--Roch--Hirzebruch formula.

Riemann-Roch-Hirzebruch theorem and Topological Quantum Mechanics

In the present paper we discuss an independent on the Grothendieck-Sato isomorphism approach to the Riemann-Roch-Hirzebruch formula for an arbitrary differential operator. Instead of the Grothendieck-Sato isomorphism, we use the Topological Quantum Mechanics (more or less equivalent to the well-known constructions with the Massey operations from [KS], [P], [Me]). A Riemann-Roch Theorem for dg Algebras

Given a smooth proper dg-algebra $A$, a perfect dg $A$-module $M$, and an endomorphism $f$ of $M$, we define the Hochschild class of the pair $(M,f)$ with values in the Hochschild homology of $A$. Our main result is a Riemann-Roch type formula involving the convolution of two such Hochschild classes.

We describe the Riemann-Roch strategy which consists of adapting in characteristic zero Weil's proof, of RH in positive characteristic, following the ideas of Mattuck, Tate and Grothendieck. A renormalized Riemann-Roch formula and the Thom isomorphism for the free loop space

Let E be a circle-equivariant complex-orientable cohomology theory. We show that the fixed-point formula applied to the free loopspace of a manifold X can be understood as a Riemann-Roch formula for the quotient of the formal group of E by a free cyclic subgroup. The quotient is not representable, but (locally at p) its p-torsion subgroup is, by a p-divisible group of height one greater than the formal group of E.
