Well-posedness for stochastic scalar conservation laws on Riemannian manifolds

We consider the scalar conservation law with stochastic forcing $$ \partial_t u +\mathrm{div}_g {\mathfrak f}(\mx,u)= Φ(\mx,u) dW, \ \ {\bf x} \in M, \ \ t\geq 0 $$ on a smooth compact Riemannian manifold $(M,g)$ where $W$ is the Wiener process and ${\bf x}\mapsto {\mathfrak f}(\mx,ξ)$ is a vector field on $M$ for each $ξ\in {\bf R}$. We introduce admissibility conditions, derive the kinetic formulation and use it to prove well posedness.

Stochastic geometric wave equations with values in compact Riemannian homogeneous spaces

Let $M$ be a compact Riemannian homogeneous space (e.g. a Euclidean sphere). We prove existence of a global weak solution of the stochastic wave equation \mathbf D_t\partial_tu=\sum_{k=1}^d\mathbf D_{x_k}\partial_{x_k}u+f_u(Du)+g_u(Du)\,\dot W$ in any dimension $d\ge 1$, where $f$ and $g$ are continuous multilinear mappings and $W$ is a spatially homogeneous Wiener process on $\mathbb R^d$ with finite spectral measure. A nonstandard method of constructing weak solutions of SPDEs, that does not rely on martingale representation theorem, is employed.

On Surjectivity of Invariant Differential Operators

By proving a topological Paley-Wiener Theorem for Riemannian symmetric spaces of non-compact type, we show that a non-zero invariant differential operator is a homeomorphism from the space of test functions onto its image and hence surjective when extended to the space of distributions.

Stochastic Heat Equations with Values in a Manifold via Dirichlet Forms

In this paper, we prove the existence of martingale solutions to the stochastic heat equation taking values in a Riemannian manifold, which admits Wiener (Brownian bridge) measure on the Riemannian path (loop) space as an invariant measure using a suitable Dirichlet form. Using the Andersson-Driver approximation, we heuristically derive a form of the equation solved by the process given by the Dirichlet form.
