As a particular one parameter deformation of the quantum determinant, we introduce a quantum $α$-determinant and study the $\mathcal{U}_q(\mathfrak{gl}_n)$-cyclic module generated by it: We show that the multiplicity of each irreducible representation in this cyclic module is determined by a certain polynomial called the $q$-content discriminant. A part of the present result is a quantum counterpart for the result of Matsumoto and Wakayama (2005), however, a new distinguished feature arises in our situation.
In this paper we classify all the cyclic finite dimensional indecomposable\\ modules of the perfect Lie algebras $\mathfrak{sl}(n+1)\ltimes \mathbbm{C}^{n+1}$, given by the semidirect sum of the simple Lie algebra $A_n$ with its standard representation. Furthermore, using the embeddings of the Lie algebras $\mathfrak{sl}(n+1)\ltimes \mathbbm{C}^{n+1}$ in $\mathfrak{sl}(n+2)$, we show that any finite dimensional irreducible module of $\mathfrak{sl}(n+2)$ restricted to $\mathfrak{sl}(n+1)\ltimes \mathbbm{C}^{n+1}$ is a cyclic module and that any cyclic $\mathfrak{sl}(n+1)\ltimes \mathbbm{C}^{n+1…
We find and discuss an unexpected (to us) order $n$ cyclic group of automorphisms of the Lie algebra $I\mathfrak{u}_n := \mathfrak{u}_n\ltimes\mathfrak{u}_n^\ast$, where $\mathfrak{u}_n$ is the Lie algebra of upper triangular $n\times n$ matrices. Our results also extend to $gl_{n+}^ε$, a ``solvable approximation'' of $gl_n$, as defined within.
The alpha-determinant unifies and interpolates the notion of the determinant and permanent. We determine the irreducible decomposition of the cyclic module of $gl_n(C)$ defined by the alpha-determinant. The degeneracy of the irreducible decomposition is determined by the content polynomial of a given partition.
We provide a sufficient condition for the cyclicity of an ordered tensor product $L=V_{a_1}(ω_{b_1})\otimes V_{a_2}(ω_{b_2})\otimes...\otimes V_{a_k}(ω_{b_k})$ of fundamental representations of the Yangian $Y(\mathfrak{g})$. When $\mathfrak{g}$ is a classical simple Lie algebra, we make the cyclicity condition concrete, which leads to an irreducibility criterion for the ordered tensor product $L$. In the case when $\mathfrak{g}=\mathfrak{sl}_{l+1}$, a sufficient and necessary condition for the irreducibility of the ordered tensor product $L$ is obtained. The cyclicity of the ordered tensor pro…
Let $\mathfrak{g}$ be the exceptional complex simple Lie algebra of type $G_2$. We provide a concrete cyclicity condition for the tensor product of fundamental representations of the Yangian $Y(\mathfrak{g})$. Using this condition, we show that every local Weyl module is isomorphic to an ordered tensor product of fundamental representations of $Y(\mathfrak{g})$.
We prove that the multiplicity of each irreducible component in the $\mathcal{U}(\mathfrak{gl}_n)$-cyclic module generated by the $l$-th power $\det^{(α)}(X)^l$ of the $α$-determinant is given by the rank of a matrix whose entries are given by a variation of the spherical Fourier transformation for $(\mathfrak{S}_{nl},\mathfrak{S}_l^n)$. Further, we calculate the matrix explicitly when $n=2$. This gives not only another proof of the result by Kimoto-Matsumoto-Wakayama (2007) but also a new aspect of the representation theory of the $α$-determinants.
The quantum $α$-determinant is defined as a parametric deformation of the quantum determinant. We investigate the cyclic $\mathcal{U}_q(\mathfrak{sl}_2)$-submodules of the quantum matrix algebra $\mathcal{A}_q(\mathrm{Mat}_2)$ generated by the powers of the quantum $α$-determinant. For such a cyclic module, there exists a collection of polynomials which describe the irreducible decomposition of it in the following manner: (i) each polynomial corresponds to a certain irreducible $\mathcal{U}_q(\mathfrak{sl}_2)$-module, (ii) the cyclic module contains an irreducible submodule if the parameter is…
We study the cyclic $U(\mathfrak{gl}_n)$-module generated by the $l$-th power of the $α$-determinant. When $l$ is a non-negative integer, for all but finite exceptional values of $alpha$, one shows that this cyclic module is isomorphic to the $n$-th tensor space $(S^l(\mathbb{C}^n))^{\otimes n}$ of the symmetric $l$-th tensor space of $\mathbb{C}^n$. If $alpha$ is exceptional, then the structure of the module changes drastically, i.e. some irreducible representations which are the irreducible components of the decomposition of $(S^l(\mathbb{C}^n))^{\otimes n}$ disappear in the decomposition of…
In this paper we study properties of a homomorphism $ρ$ from the universal enveloping algebra $U=U(\mathfrak{gl}(n+1))$ to a tensor product of an algebra $\mathcal D'(n)$ of differential operators and $U(\mathfrak{gl}(n))$. We find a formula for the image of the Capelli determinant of $\mathfrak{gl}(n+1)$ under $ρ$, and, in particular, of the images under $ρ$ of the Gelfand generators of the center $Z(\mathfrak{gl}(n+1))$ of $U$. This formula is proven by relating $ρ$ to the corresponding Harish-Chandra isomorphisms, and, alternatively, by using a purely computational approach. Furthermore, we…
Let $A$ be the path algebra of a Dynkin quiver $Q$ over a finite field, and $\mathscr{P}$ be the category of projective $A$-modules. Denote by $C^1(\mathscr{P})$ the category of 1-cyclic complexes over $\mathscr{P}$, and $\tilde{\mathfrak{n}}^+$ the vector space spanned by the isomorphism classes of indecomposable and non-acyclic objects in $C^1(\mathscr{P})$. In this paper, we prove the existence of Hall polynomials in $C^1(\mathscr{P})$, and then establish a relationship between the Hall numbers for indecomposable objects therein and those for $A$-modules. Using Hall polynomials evaluated at…
Given a complex semisimple Lie algebra ${\mathfrak g}$ and a commutative ${\mathbb C}$-algebra $A$, let ${\mathfrak g}[A] = {\mathfrak g} \otimes A$ be the corresponding generalized current algebra. In this paper we explore questions involving the computation and finite-dimensionality of extension groups for finite-dimensional ${\mathfrak g}[A]$-modules. Formulas for computing $\operatorname{Ext}^{1}$ and $\operatorname{Ext}^{2}$ between simple ${\mathfrak g}[A]$-modules are presented. As an application of these methods and of the use of the first cyclic homology, we completely describe $\oper…
Let $U$ be the enveloping algebra of a finite dimensional nonabelian Lie algebra $\mathfrak{g}$ over a field of characteristic zero. We show that there is an open nonempty open subset $X$ of $U_1 = \mathfrak{g}\oplus K$ such that $U/Ux$ is faithful for all $x \in X$. We prove similar results for homogenized enveloping algebras and for the three dimensional Sklyanin algebras at points of infinite order. It would be interesting to know if there is a common generalization of these results.
Let $S = \mathbb{C}[x_{i,j}]$ be the ring of polynomial functions on the space of $m \times n$ matrices, and consider the action of the group $\mathbf{GL} = \mathbf{GL}_m \times \mathbf{GL}_n$ via row and column operations on the matrix entries. It is proven by Raicu and Weyman that for a $\mathbf{GL}$-invariant ideal $I \subseteq S$, the linear strands of its minimal free resolution translates via the BGG correspondence to modules over the general linear Lie superalgebra $\mathfrak{gl}(m|n)$. When $I=I_λ$ is the ideal generated by the $\mathbf{GL}$-orbit of a highest weight vector of weight $…
Let $\mathfrak g$ be a finite-dimensional Lie algebra. The symmetric algebra $\mathcal S(\mathfrak g)$ is equipped with the standard Lie-Poisson bracket. In this paper, we elaborate on a surprising observation that one naturally associates the second compatible Poisson bracket on $\mathcal S(\mathfrak g)$ to any finite order automorphism $θ$ of $\mathfrak g$. We study related Poisson-commutative subalgebras $\mathcal C$ of $\mathcal S(\mathfrak g)$ and associated Lie algebra contractions of $\mathfrak g$. To obtain substantial results, we have to assume that $\mathfrak g$ is semisimple. Then w…
For any positive integer $n$, let ${\rm C}_{n}$ be the cyclic group of order $n$. We determine all possible values of the integer group determinant of ${\rm C}_{2}^{2} \rtimes C_{4}$.
Let ${\rm C}_{4}$ be the cyclic group of order $4$. We determine all possible values of the integer group determinant of ${\rm C}_{4} \rtimes {\rm C}_{4}$.
For any positive integer $n$, let ${\rm C}_{n}$ be the cyclic group of order $n$. We determine all possible values of the integer group determinant of ${\rm C}_{4} \times {\rm C}_{2}^{2}$, which is the only unsolved abelian group of order $16$.
We use the RTT realization of the quantum affine superalgebra associated with the Lie superalgebra $\mathfrak{gl}(M,N)$ to study its finite-dimensional representations and their tensor products. In the case $\mathfrak{gl}(1,1)$, the cyclicity condition of tensor products of finite-dimensional simple modules is determined completely in terms of zeros and poles of rational functions. This in turn induces cyclicity of some particular tensor products of Kirillov-Reshetikhin modules related to $\mathfrak{gl}(M,N)$.
We interpret a formula established by Lapid-M\'ınguez on real regular representations of ${\rm GL}_n$ over a local non-archimedean field as a matrix determinant. We use the Lewis Carroll determinant identity to prove new relations between real regular representations. Through quantum affine Schur-Weyl duality, these relations generalize Mukhin-Young's Extended $T$-systems, for representations of the quantum affine algebra $U_q(\widehat{\mathfrak{sl}}_k)$, which are themselves generalizations of the celebrated $T$-system relations.
If $\mathfrak{g}$ is a contragredient Lie superalgebra and $γ$ is a root of $\mathfrak{g},$ we prove the existence and uniqueness of Šapovalov elements for $γ$ and give upper bounds on the degrees of their coefficients. Then we use Šapovalov elements to define some new highest weight modules. If $X$ is a set of orthogonal isotropic roots and $λ\in \mathfrak{h}^*$ is such that $λ+ρ$ is orthogonal to all roots in $X$, we construct a highest weight module $M^X(λ)$ with character $ε^λ{p}_X$. Here $p_X$ is a function that counts partitions not involving roots in $X$. Examples of such modules can be…
In 1990 Beilinson, Lusztig and MacPherson provided a geometric realization of modified quantum $\mathfrak{gl}_n$ and its canonical basis. A key step of their work is a construction of a monomial basis. Recently, Du and Fu provided an algebraic construction of the canonical basis for modified quantum affine $\mathfrak{gl}_n$, which among other results used an earlier construction of monomial bases using Ringel-Hall algebra of the cyclic quiver. In this paper, we give an elementary algebraic construction of a monomial basis for affine Schur algebras and modified quantum affine $\mathfrak{gl}_n$.
The (BC type) z-measures are a family of four parameter $z, z', a, b$ probability measures on the path space of the nonnegative Gelfand-Tsetlin graph with Jacobi-edge multiplicities. We can interpret the $z$-measures as random point processes $\mathcal{P}_{z, z', a, b}$ on the punctured positive real line $\mathfrak{X} = \mathbb{R}_+\setminus\{1\}$. Our main result is that these random processes are determinantal and moreover we compute their correlation kernels explicitly in terms of hypergeometric functions. For very special values of the parameters $z, z'$, the processes $\mathcal{P}_{z, z'…
For the cyclic group $\mathbb{Z}_3$ and positive integer $k$, we study the representations of the orbifold vertex operator algebra $L_{\widehat{\mathfrak{sl}_2}}(k,0)^{\mathbb{Z}_3}$. All the irreducible modules for $L_{\widehat{\mathfrak{sl}_2}}(k,0)^{\mathbb{Z}_3}$ are classified and constructed explicitly. Quantum dimensions and fusion rules for the orbifold vertex operator algebra $L_{\widehat{\mathfrak{sl}_2}}(k,0)^{\mathbb{Z}_3}$ are completely determined.
We study the eigenproblem for Bethe subalgebras of the Yangian $Y(\mathfrak{gl}_n)$ in tame representations, i.e. in finite dimensional representations which admit Gelfand-Tsetlin bases. Namely, we prove that for any tensor product of skew modules $V=\otimes_{i=1}^k V_{λ_i \setminus μ_i}(z_i)$ over the Yangian $Y(\mathfrak{gl}_n)$ with generic $z_i$'s, the family of Bethe subalgebras $B(X)$ with $X$ being a regular element of the maximal torus of $GL_n$ (or, more generally, with $X \in \overline{M_{0,n+2}}$) acts with a cyclic vector on $V$. Moreover, for $X$ in the real form of $\overline{M_{…
For a semisimple Lie algebra $\mathfrak{g}$ of rank $n$, let $\overline{U}_ζ(\mathfrak{g})$ be the restricted quantum group of $\mathfrak{g}$ at a primitive fourth root of unity. This quantum group admits a natural Borel-induced representation $V({\boldsymbol{t}})$, with ${\boldsymbol{t}}\in(\mathbb{C}^\times)^n$ determined by a character on the Cartan subalgebra. Ohtsuki showed that for $\mathfrak{g}=\mathfrak{sl}_2$, the braid group representation determined by tensor powers of $V({\boldsymbol{t}})$ is the exterior algebra of the Burau representation. In this paper, we generalize the tensor …
We consider the Whittaker modules $M_{1}(λ,μ)$ for the Weyl vertex algebra $M$, constructed in arXiv:1811.04649, where it was proved that these modules are irreducible for each finite cyclic orbifold $M^{\Bbb Z_n}$. In this paper, we consider the modules $M_{1}(λ,μ)$ as modules for the ${\Bbb Z}$-orbifold of $M$, denoted by $M^0$. $M^0$ is isomorphic to the vertex algebra $\mathcal W_{1+\infty, c=-1} = \mathcal M(2) \otimes M_1(1)$ which is the tensor product of the Heisenberg vertex algebra $M_1(1)$ and the singlet algebra $\mathcal M(2)$. Furthermore, these modules are also modules of the Li…
