Hecke Correspondence, Stable Maps and the Kirwan Desingularization

We prove that the moduli space of stable maps of degree 2 to the moduli space of rank 2 stable bundles of fixed determinant O(-x) over a smooth projective curve of genus g>2 has two irre- ducible components which intersect transversely. One of them is Kir- wan's partial desingularization of the moduli space of rank 2 semistable bundles with determinant isomorphic to O(y-x) for some y in X. The other component is the partial desingularization of PHom(sl(2)^*;W)//PGL(2) for a vector bundle W of rank g over the Jacobian of X. We also show that the Hilbert scheme H, the Chow scheme C of conics in N and the moduli space of stable maps of degree 2 are related by explicit contractions.

Intersection cohomology of pure sheaf spaces using Kirwan's desingularization

Let $\mathbf{M}_n$ be the Simpson compactification of twisted ideal sheaves $\mathcal{I}_{L,Q}(1)$ where $Q$ is a rank $4$ quardric hypersurface in $\mathbb{P}^n$ and $L$ is a linear subspace of dimension $n-2$. This paper calculates the intersection Poincaré polynomial of $\mathbf{M}_n$ using Kirwan's desingularization method. We obtain the intersection Poincaré polynomial of the moduli space for one-dimensional sheaves on del Pezzo surfaces of degree $\geq 8$ by considering wall-crossings of stable pairs and complexes.

Cohomology of the moduli space of Hecke cycles

Let $X$ be a smooth projective curve of genus $g \ge 3$ and let $M_0$ be the moduli space of semistable bundles over $X$ of rank 2 with trivial determinant. Desingularizations of the moduli space of rank 2 bundles over a curve

Let $X$ be a smooth projective curve of genus $g\ge 3$ and $M_0$ be the moduli space of rank 2 semistable bundles over $X$ with trivial determinant. Partial desingularizations of good moduli spaces of Artin toric stacks

We define Reichstein transforms to be certain birational transformations of Artin stacks with good moduli spaces. Our main technical result is that the Reichstein transform of an Artin toric stack is again an Artin toric stack. This leads to our main theorem which states that for Artin toric stacks there is a canonical sequence of Reichstein transforms which produces a Deligne-Mumford toric stack. When the good moduli space of an Artin toric stack is projective our procedure can be interpreted in terms of Kirwan's partial desingularization of geometric invariant theory quotients.

A desingularization of the moduli space of rank 2 Higgs bundles over a curve

Let $X$ be a smooth complex projective curve of genus $g\geq 3$. Let $\mathbf{M}_2$ be the moduli space of semistable rank $2$ Higgs bundles with trivial determinant over $X$. We construct a desingularization $\mathbf{S}$ of $\mathbf{M}_2$ as a closed subvariety of a moduli space. We prove that $\mathbf{S}$ is a nonsingular variety containing the stable locus of $\mathbf{M}_2$ as an open dense subvariety. Moduli of sheaves, Fourier-Mukai transform, and partial desingularization

We study birational maps among 1) the moduli space of semistable torsion sheaves of Hilbert polynomial $4m+2$ on a smooth quadric surface, 2) the moduli space of semistable torsion sheaves of Hilbert polynomial $m^{2}+3m+2$ on $\mathbb{P}^{3}$, 3) Kontsevich's moduli space of genus zero stable maps of degree 2 to Grassmannian $Gr(2, 4)$. Canonical reduction of stabilizers for Artin stacks with good moduli spaces

KSBA compactification of the moduli space of K3 surfaces with purely non-symplectic automorphism of order four

We describe a compactification by KSBA stable pairs of the five-dimensional moduli space of K3 surfaces with purely non-symplectic automorphism of order four and $U(2)\oplus D_4^{\oplus2}$ lattice polarization. These K3 surfaces can be realized as the minimal resolution of the double cover of $\mathbb{P}^1\times\mathbb{P}^1$ branched along a specific $(4,4)$ curve. We show that, up to a finite group action, this stable pair compactification is isomorphic to Kirwan's partial desingularization of the GIT quotient $(\mathbb{P}^1)^8//\mathrm{SL}_2$ with the symmetric linearization.
