We give a necessary and sufficient criterion when a normal CP-map on a von Neumann algebra admits a restriction to a maximal commutative subalgebra. We apply this result to give a far reaching generalization of Rebolledo's sufficient criterion for the Lindblad generator of a Markov semigroup on B(G).

In this note we start the study of whether the reduced C*-algebra of an inverse semigroup is quasi-diagonal, making explicit use of the inner structure of this class of semigroups in order to produce quasi-diagonal approximations. Given a discrete inverse semigroup, we detail the relationship between its isolated subgroups and the quasi-diagonality of its reduced C*-algebra, and prove that such subgroups must be amenable. For a given inverse semigroup, one can associate an étale groupoid which is called the universal groupoid. Our motivation is studying the relation between inverse semigroups and associated étale groupoids. In this paper, we focus on congruences of inverse semigroups, which is a fundamental concept to consider quotients of inverse semigroup. Base on these characterizations, we show that a unital full free product of two inner quasidiagonal C*-algebras is inner quasidiagonal again. In this article we apply a recently established transference principle in order to obtain the boundedness of certain functional calculi for semigroup generators. In particular, it is proved that if $-A$ generates a $C_0$-semigroup on a Hilbert space, then for each $τ>0$ the operator $A$ has a bounded calculus for the closed ideal of bounded holomorphic functions on a (sufficiently large) right half-plane that satisfy $f(z)=O(e^{-τ\textrm{Re}(z)})$ as $|z|\rightarrow \infty$. The objective of this paper is to study wandering subspaces for commuting tuples of bounded operators on Hilbert spaces. It is shown that, for a large class of analytic functional Hilbert spaces $\mathcal{H}_K$ on the unit ball in $\mathbb C^n$, wandering subspaces for restrictions of the multiplication tuple $M_z = (M_{z_1}, \ldots ,M_{z_n})$ can be described in terms of suitable $\mathcal{H}_K$-inner functions.
