With the help of the tools of Quillen's homotopical algebra, we construct `the universal additive invariant', namely a functor from the category of small dg categories to an additive category, that inverts the Morita dg functors, transforms the semi-orthogonal decompositions in the sense of Bondal-Orlov into direct sums and which is universal for these properties. We compare our construction with that of Bondal-Larsen-Lunts.

We present a method for computing $\mathbb{A}^1$-homotopy invariants of singularity categories of rings admitting suitable gradings. Using this we describe any such invariant, e.g. homotopy K-theory, for the stable categories of self-injective algebras admitting a connected grading. A remark is also made concerning the vanishing of all such invariants for cluster categories of type $A_{2n}$ quivers.
By inspiring ourselves in Drinfeld's DG quotient, we develop Postnikov towers, k-invariants and an obstruction theory for dg categories. As an application, we obtain the following `rigidification' theorem: let A be a homologically connective dg category and F:B -> H0(A) a dg functor to its homotopy category. If the family of obstruction classes vanishes, then a lift for F exists.
In this paper we pursue the study of spectral categories initiated in [26]. More precisely, we construct the Universal matrix invariant of spectral categories, i.e. a functor U with values in an additive category Add, which inverts the Morita equivalences, satisfies matrix invariance, and is universal with respect to these two properties. For example, the algebraic K-theory and the topological Hochschild and cyclic homologies are matrix invariants, and so they factor uniquely throw U. As an application, we obtain for free non-trivial trace maps from the Grothendieck group to the topological Ho…
To every scheme, not necessarily smooth neither proper, we can associate its different mixed realizations (de Rham, Betti, etale, Hodge, etc) as well as its ring of periods. In this note, following an insight of Kontsevich, we prove that, after suitable modifications, these classical constructions can be extended from schemes to the broad setting of dg categories. This leads to new additive invariants, which we compute in the case of differential operators, as well as to a theory of periods of dg categories. Among other applications, we prove that the ring of periods of a scheme is invariant u…
Let A be a dg category, F:A->A a dg functor inducing an equivalence of categories in degree-zero cohomology, and A/F the associated dg orbit category. For every A1-homotopy invariant (e.g. homotopy K-theory, K-theory with coefficients, etale K-theory and periodic cyclic homology), we construct a distinguished triangle expressing E(A/F) as the cone of the endomorphism E(F)-Id of E(A). In the particular case where F is the identity dg functor, this triangle splits and gives rise to the fundamental theorem. As a first application, we compute the A1-homotopy invariants of cluster (dg) categories, …
In this paper we show that Gorensteinness, singularity categories and the finite generation condition Fg for the Hochschild cohomology are invariants under the arrow removal operation for a finite dimensional algebra.
We generalize the notion of Külshammer ideals to the setting of a graded category. This allows us to define and study some properties of Külshammer type ideals in the graded center of a triangulated category and in the Hochschild cohomology of an algebra, providing new derived invariants. Further properties of Külshammer ideals are studied in the case where the category is $d$-Calabi-Yau.
We introduce a cohomological invariant arising from a class in nonabelian cohomology. This invariant generalizes the Dixmier-Douady class and encodes the obstruction to a C*-algebra bundle being the fixed-point algebra of a gauge action. As an application, the duality breaking for group bundles vs. tensor C*-categories with non-simple unit is discussed in the setting of Nistor-Troitsky gauge-equivariant K-theory: there is a map assigning a nonabelian gerbe to a tensor category, and "triviality" of the gerbe is equivalent to the existence of a dual group bundle. At the C*-algebraic level, this …
Using the formalism of Grothendieck's derivators, we construct `the universal localizing invariant of dg categories'. By this, we mean a morphism U_l from the pointed derivator associated with the Morita homotopy theory of dg categories to a triangulated strong derivator M^loc such that U_l commutes with filtered homotopy colimits, preserves the point, sends each exact sequence of dg categories to a triangle and is universal for these properties. Similary, we construct the `the universal additive invariant of dg categories', i.e. the universal morphism of derivators U_a to a strong triangulate…
In this thesis we present several original contributions to the study of: - DG categories and their invariants; - Neeman's well-generated (algebraic) triangulated categories; - Fomin-Zelevinsky's cluster algebras approach via representation theory.
This paper describes constructions in homological algebra that are part of a strategy whose goal is to understand and classify symplectic mapping tori. More precisely, given a dg category and an auto-equivalence, satisfying certain assumptions, we introduce a category $M_ϕ$-called the mapping torus category that describes the wrapped Fukaya category of an open symplectic mapping torus. Then we define a family of bimodules on a natural deformation of $M_ϕ$, uniquely characterize it and using this, we distinguish $M_ϕ$ from the mapping torus category of the identity. The proof of the equivalence…
We investigate certain categorical aspects of Voevodsky's triangulated categories of motives. For this, various recollements for Grothendieck categories of enriched functors and their derived categories are established. In order to extend these recollements further with respect to Serre's localization, the concept of the (strict) Voevodsky property for Serre localizing subcategories is introduced. This concept is inspired by the celebrated Voevodsky theorem on homotopy invariant presheaves with transfers. As an application, it is shown that Voevodsky's triangulated categories of motives fit in…
We present an $\ell$-adic trace formula for saturated and admissible dg-categories over a base monoidal dg-category. Moreover, we prove Künneth formulas for dg-category of singularities, and for inertia-invariant vanishing cycles. As an application, we prove a version of Bloch's Conductor Conjecture (stated by Spencer Bloch in 1985), under the additional hypothesis that the monodromy action of the inertia group is unipotent.
This paper is part of a sequence interpreting quantities of conformal field theories K-theoretically. Here we give geometric constructions of the associated module categories (modular invariants, nimreps, etc). In particular, we give a KK-theory interpretation of all modular invariants for the loop groups of tori, as well as most known modular invariants of loop groups. In addition, we find unexpectedly that the Tambara-Yamagami fusion category has an elegant description as bundles over a groupoid, and use that to interpret its module categories as KK-elements. We establish reconstruction for …
