We give closed formulae for the q-characters of the fundamental representations of the quantum loop algebra of a classical Lie algebra in terms of a family of partitions satisfying some simple properties. We also give the multiplicities of the eigenvalues of the imaginary subalgebra in terms of these partitions.
We study a certain family of finite-dimensional simple representations over quantum affine superalgebras associated to general linear Lie superalgebras, the so-called fundamental representations: the denominators of rational $R$-matrices between two fundamental representations are computed; a cyclicity (and so simplicity) condition on tensor products of fundamental representations is proved.
Fundamental elements are certain special elements of affine Weyl groups introduced by Gortz, Haines, Kottwitz and Reuman. They play an important role in the study of affine Deligne-Lusztig varieties. In this paper, we obtain characterizations of the fundamental elements and their natural generalizations. We also derive an inverse to a version of "Newton-Hodge decomposition" in affine flag varieties. As an application, we obtain a group-theoretic generalization of Oort's results on minimal p-divisible groups, and we show that, in certain good reduction reduction of PEL Shimura datum, each Newt…
For every non-exceptional affine Lie algebra, we explicitly construct a positive geometric crystal associated with a fundamental representation. We also show that its ultra-discretization is isomorphic to the limit of certain perfect crystals of the Langlands dual affine Lie algebra.
We establish several results concerning tensor products, q-characters, and the block decomposition of the category of finite-dimensional representations of quantum affine algebras in the root of unity setting. In the generic case, a Weyl module is isomorphic to a tensor product of fundamental representations and this isomorphism was essential for establishing the block decomposition theorem. This is no longer true in the root of unity setting. We overcome the lack of such a tool by utilizing results on specialization of modules. Furthermore, we establish a sufficient condition for a Weyl modul…
For $G$ a connected reductive group, $γ\in \kg(F)$ semisimple regular integral, we introduce a fundamental domain $F_γ$ for the affine Springer fibers $\xx_γ$. There is a beautiful way to reduce the purity conjecture of $\xx_γ$ to that of $F_γ$, we call it the Arthur-Kottwitz reduction. When restricted to the unramified case, it turns out that these fundamental domains behave well in family. We formulate a rationality conjecture about a generating series of their Poincaré polynomials. We then study them in detail for the group $\gl_{3}$. In particular, we pave them in affine spaces and we prov…
We shall derive Kazhdan-Lusztig type character formula for the irreducible modules with arbitrary non-critical highest weights over affine Lie algebras from the rational case by using the translation functor, the Enright functor and Jantzen's deformation argument.
Frenkel-Reshetikhin introduced $q$-characters of finite dimensional representations of quantum affine algebras. We give a combinatorial algorithm to compute them for all simple modules. Our tool is $t$-analogue of the $q$-characters, which is similar to Kazhdan-Lusztig polynomials, and our algorithm has a resemblance with their definition.
We construct quasi-particle bases of principal subspaces of standard modules $L(Λ)$, where $Λ=k_0Λ_0+k_jΛ_j$, and $Λ_j$ denotes the fundamental weight of affine Lie algebras of type $B_l^{(1)}$, $C_l^{(1)}$, $F_4^{(1)}$ or $G_2^{(1)}$ of level one. From the given bases we find characters of principal subspaces.
We present an explicit character formula for the irreducible highest weight representations of the non-twisted affine Kac-Moody Lie algebra at the critical level which are integrable over the corresponding finite-dimensional simple Lie algebra.
Assuming a certain "purity" conjecture, we derive a formula for the (complex) cohomology groups of the affine Springer fiber corresponding to any unramified regular semi-simple element. We use this calculation to present a complex analog of the fundamental lemma for function fields. We show that the "kappa" orbital integral which arises in the fundamental lemma is equal to the Lefschetz trace of Frobenius acting on the etale cohomology of a related variety.
We construct a family of homomorphisms between Weyl modules for affine Lie algebras in characteristic p, which supports our conjecture on the strong linkage principle in this context. We also exhibit a large class of reducible Weyl modules beyond level one, for p not necessarily small.
We study a class of representations over the degenerate double affine Hecke algebra of gl_n by an algebraic method. As fundamental objects in this class, we introduce certain induced modules and study some of their properties. In particular, it is shown that these induced modules have unique simple quotient modules under certain conditions. Moreover, we show that any simple module in this class is obtained as such a simple quotient, and give a classification of all the simple modules.
The category of finite dimensional (type 1) representations of a quantum affine algebra $U_q(\hat{\mathfrak g})$ is not semisimple. However, as any abelian category with finite-length objects, it admits a unique decomposition into a direct sum of indecomposable subcategorie (blocks). We define the elliptic central character of a finite dimensional (type 1) representation of $U_q(\hat{\mathfrak g})$. Then we show that the block decomposition of this category is paramentrized by these elliptic central characters.
We prove that semi-infinite Bruhat order on an affine Weyl group is completely determined from those on the quotients by affine Weyl subgroups associated with various maximal (standard) parabolic subgroups of finite type. Furthermore, for an affine Weyl group of classical type, we give a complete classification of all cover relations of semi-infinite Bruhat order (or equivalently, all edges of the quantum Bruhat graphs) on the quotients in terms of tableaux. Combining these we obtain a tableau criterion for semi-infinite Bruhat order on an affine Weyl group of classical type. As an application…
Braverman, Finkelberg, and Nakajima define Kac-Moody affine Grassmannian slices as Coulomb branches of $3d$ $\mathcal{N}=4$ quiver gauge theories and prove that their Coulomb branch construction agrees with the usual loop group definition in finite ADE types. The Coulomb branch construction has good algebraic properties, but its geometry is hard to understand in general. In finite types, an essential geometric feature is that slices embed into one another. We show that these embeddings are compatible with the fundamental monopole operators (FMOs), remarkable regular functions arising from the …
We generalize I. Frenkel's orbital theory for non twisted affine Lie algebras to the case of twisted affine Lie algebras using a character formula for certain non-connected compact Lie groups.
The Jacobi-Trudi formula implies some interesting quadratic identities for characters of representations of $gl_n$. Earlier work of Kirillov and Reshetikhin proposed a generalization of these identities to the other classical Lie algebras, and conjectured that the characters of certain finite-dimensional representations of $U_q(g-affine)$ satisfy it. Here we use a positivity argument to show that the generalized identities have only one solution.
We introduce the notion of a spectral character for finite-dimensional representations of affine algebras. These can be viewed as a suitable q=1 limit of the elliptic characters defined by Etingof and Moura for quantum affine algebras. We show that these characters determine blocks of the category of finite-dimensional modules for affine algebras. To do this we use the Weyl modules defined by Chari and Pressley and some indecomposable reducible quotient of the Weyl modules.
We introduce the generic central character of an irreducible discrete series representation of an affine Hecke algebra. Using this invariant we give a new classification of the irreducible discrete series characters for all abstract affine Hecke algebras (except for the types E) with arbitrary positive parameters and we prove an explicit product formula for their formal degrees (in all cases).
We compute the characteristic polynomials of affine Cartan, adjacency matrices and Coxeter polynomials of the associated Coxeter system using Chebyshev polynomials. We give explicit factorization of these polynomials as products of cyclotomic polynomials. Finally, we present several different methods of obtaining the exponents and Coxeter number for affine Lie algebras. In particular we compute the exponents and Coxeter number for each conjugacy class in the case of $A_n^{(1)}$.
We prove a character formula for the irreducible modules from the category $\mathcal{O}$ over the simple affine vertex algebra of type $A_n$ and $C_n$ $(n \geq 2)$ of level $k=-1$. We also give a conjectured character formula for types $D_4$, $E_6$, $E_7$, $E_8$ and levels $k=-1, \cdots, -b$, where $b=2,3,4,6$ respectively.
We give explicit formulas for the elements of the center of the completed quantum affine algebra in type $A$ at the critical level which are associated with the fundamental representations. We calculate the images of these elements under a Harish-Chandra-type homomorphism. These images coincide with those in the free field realization of the quantum affine algebra and reproduce generators of the $q$-deformed classical $W$-algebra of Frenkel and Reshetikhin.
We express the multiplicities of the irreducible summands of certain tensor products of irreducible integrable modules for an affine Kac-Moody algebra over a simply laced Lie algebra as sums of multiplicities in appropriate excellent filtrations (Demazure flags). As an application, we obtain expressions for the outer multiplicities of tensor products of two fundamental modules for $\widehat{\mathfrak{sl}}_2$ in terms of partitions with bounded parts, which subsequently lead to certain partition identities.
Riemannian symmetric spaces are fundamental objects in finite dimensional differential geometry. An important problem is the construction of symmetric spaces for generalizations of simple Lie groups, especially their closest infinite dimensional analogues known as Kac-Moody groups. We solve this problem and construct affine Kac-Moody symmetric spaces in a series of several papers. This paper focuses on the algebraic side: More precisely, we introduce OSAKAs, the algebraic structures used to describe the connection between affine Kac-Moody symmetric spaces and affine Kac-Moody algebras and desc…
Let $K$ be a non-discrete non-Archimedean local field with residue characteristic $p$. Let $G$ be the group of $K$ rational points of a algebraic connected reductive group defined over $K$. In this article we compute the extensions between characters of affine pro-$p$ Iwahori--Hecke algebra $\mathcal{H}^{\text{aff}}$ over an algebraically closed field $R$ of characteristic $p$. In rank one case we deduce the relation between the blocks and $L$-packets.
The explicit description of the Frobenius structure for the elliptic root system of type $D_4^{(1,1)}$ in terms of the characters of an affine Lie algebra of type $D_4^{(1)}$ is given.
The theory of flat Pseudo-Riemannian manifolds and flat affine manifolds is closely connected to the topic of prehomogeneous affine representations of Lie groups. In this article, we exhibit several aspects of this correspondence. At the heart of our presentation is a development of the theory of characteristic classes and characters of prehomogeneous affine representations. We give applications concerning flat affine, as well as Pseudo-Riemannian and symplectic affine flat manifolds.
We show that the characters of all highest weight modules over an affine Lie algebra with the highest weight away from the critical hyperplane are meromorphic functions in the positive half of Cartan subalgebra, their singularities being at most simple poles at zeros of real roots. We obtain some information about these singularities.
The group $\GL_2$ over a local field with (residue) characteristic $2$ possesses much more smooth supercuspidal $\ell$-adic representations, than over a local field of residue characteristic $> 2$. One way to construct these representations is via the theory of types of Bushnell-Kutzko. We construct many of them in the cohomology of certain extended affine Deligne-Lusztig varieties attached to $\GL_2$ and wildly ramified maximal tori in it. Then we compare our construction with the type-theoretic one. The corresponding extended affine Deligne-Lusztig varieties were introduced in a preceding ar…
