This article is a continuation of SG/0107014. Some vanishing theorems for orbifold elliptic genus of level N for multi-fans are proved. As an application, complete Q-factorial toric varieties whose canonical divisors are divisible by their dimesion in the group of T-Cartier divisors are determined.

Invariance property of orbifold elliptic genus for multi-fans

Multi-fan is an analogous notion of fan. As a fan is associated to a toric variety a multi-fan is associated to a torus orbifold. Orbifold elliptic class and orbifold elliptic genus are defined for a triple of a multi-fan, a set of generating integral vectors of one dimensional cones and a $\mathbb{Q}$ divisor. They are shown to behave functorially with respect to birational morphisms between these triples. The result may be considered as a combinatorial or topological analogue of the main result of Borisov and Libgober, McKay correspondence for elliptic genera, Ann. of Math., 161 (2005).

Theory of multi-fans

We introduce the notion of a multi-fan. It is a generalization of that of a fan in the theory of toric variety in algebraic geometry. Roughly speaking a toric variety is an algebraic variety with an action of algebraic torus of the same dimension as that of the variety, and a fan is a combinatorial object associated with the toric variety. Algebro-geometric properties of the toric variety can be described in terms of the associated fan. The rigidity theorem of Witten-Bott-Taubes-Hirzebruch tells us that, if the circle group acts on a closed almost complex (or more generally unitary) manifold whose first Chern class is divisible by a positive integer N greater than 1, then its equivariant elliptic genus of level N is rigid. Applying this to a non-singular compact toric variety, we see that its elliptic genus of level N is rigid if its first Chern class is divisible by N. Volume polynomials and duality algebras of multi-fans

We introduce a theory of volume polynomials and corresponding duality algebras of multi-fans. Any complete simplicial multi-fan $Δ$ determines a volume polynomial $V_Δ$ whose values are the volumes of multi-polytopes based on $Δ$. This homogeneous polynomial is further used to construct a Poincare duality algebra $\mathcal{A}^*(Δ)$. Equivariant cohomology of torus orbifolds

We calculate the integral equivariant cohomology, in terms of generators and relations, of locally standard torus orbifolds whose odd degree ordinary cohomology vanishes. We begin by studying GKM-orbifolds, which are more general, before specialising to half-dimensional torus actions.

Equivariant cobordism of torus orbifolds

Torus orbifolds are topological generalization of symplectic toric orbifolds. We give a construction of smooth orbifolds with torus actions whose boundary is a disjoint union of torus orbifolds using toric topological method. As a result, we show that any orientable locally standard torus orbifold is equivariantly cobordant to some copies of orbifold complex projective spaces. We also discuss some further equivariant cobordism results including the cases when torus orbifolds are actually torus manifolds.

Discrete torsion for the supersingular orbifold sigma genus

The first purpose of this paper is to examine the relationship between equivariant elliptic genera and orbifold elliptic genera. We apply the character theory of Hopkins et. al. to the Borel-equivariant genus associated to the sigma orientation of Ando-Hopkins-Strickland to define an orbifold genus for certain total quotient orbifolds and supersingular elliptic curves. Orbifold genera, product formulas and power operations

We generalize the definition of orbifold elliptic genus, and introduce orbifold genera of chromatic level h, using h-tuples rather than pairs of commuting elements. We show that our genera are in fact orbifold invariants, and we prove integrality results for them. If the genus arises from an H-infinity-map into the Morava-Lubin-Tate theory E_h, then we give a formula expressing the orbifold genus of the symmetric powers of a stably almost complex manifold M in terms of the genus of M itself. Orbifold elliptic genera and rigidity

Three types of rigidity theorem for orbifold elliptic genus of level N are proved. The first type deals with the case where N is relatively prime to the orders of all isotropy groups. If the top exterior power of the tangent bundle is divisible by N in the Picard group of orbifold line bundles, then the ofbifold genus of level N suitably modified has rigidity property with respect to compact connected group actions. The second type deals with the divisibility within the Picard group of genuine line bundles. In this case the orbifold elliptic genus itself has rigidity property.
