Motivic action for Siegel modular forms

We study the coherent cohomology of automorphic sheaves corresponding to Siegel modular forms $f$ of low weight on ${\rm GSp}(4)$ Shimura varieties. Inspired by the work of Prasanna--Venkatesh on singular cohomology of locally symmetric spaces, we propose a conjecture that explains all the contributions of a Hecke eigensystem to coherent cohomology in terms of the action of a motivic cohomology group. Under some technical conditions, we prove that our conjecture is equivalent to Beilinson's conjecture for the adjoint $L$-function of $f$. We also prove some unconditional results in special case…

Siegel modular forms of degree three and the cohomology of local systems

We give an explicit conjectural formula for the motivic Euler characteristic of an arbitrary symplectic local system on the moduli space A_3 of principally polarized abelian threefolds. The main term of the formula is a conjectural motive of Siegel modular forms of a certain type; the remaining terms admit a surprisingly simple description in terms of the motivic Euler characteristics for lower genera. On the residue of Eisenstein classes of Siegel varieties

Eisenstein classes of Siegel varieties are motivic cohomology classes defined as pull-backs by torsion sections of the polylogarithm prosheaf on the universal abelian scheme. By reduction to the Hilbert-Blumenthal case, we prove that the Betti realization of these classes on Siegel varieties of arbitrary genus have non-trivial residue on zero dimensional strata of the Baily-Borel compactification. A direct corollary is the non-vanishing of a higher regulator map.

On higher regulators of Siegel threefolds II: the connection to the special value

We establish a connection between motivic cohomology classes over the Siegel threefold and special values of the degree four $L$-function of some cuspidal automorphic representations of $\mathrm{GSp}(4)$. Our computation relies on our previous work [Le15] and on an integral representation of the $L$-function due to Piatetski-Shapiro.
