Mirror Symmetry, Borcherd-Harvey-Moore Products and Determinants of the Calabi-Yau Metrics on K3 Surfaces

Based on the work of Borcherds we construct on the moduli space of K3 surfaces with B-field an automorphic form exp_{4,20} which vanishes on the totally geodesic subspaces orthogonal to -2 vectors of the even, unimodular lattice of signature (4,20). We give an explicit formula of the regularized determinants of the Laplacians of Calabi Yau metrics on K3 Surfaces, following suggestions by R. Borcherds. Donaldson = Seiberg-Witten from Mochizuki's formula and instanton counting

We propose an explicit formula connecting Donaldson invariants and Seiberg-Witten invariants of a 4-manifold of simple type via Nekrasov's deformed partition function for the N=2 SUSY gauge theory with a single fundamental matter. This formula is derived from Mochizuki's formula, which makes sense and was proved when the 4-manifold is complex projective. Assuming our formula is true for a 4-manifold of simple type, we prove Witten's conjecture and sum rules for Seiberg-Witten invariants (superconformal simple type condition), conjectured by Mariño, Moore and Peradze.

PU(2) monopoles and a conjecture of Marino, Moore, and Peradze

In this article we show that some of the recent results of Marino, Moore, and Peradze (math.DG/9812042, hep-th/9812055) -- in particular their conjecture that all closed, smooth four-manifolds with b_2^+ > 1 (and Seiberg-Witten simple type) are of `superconformal simple type' -- can be understood using a simple mathematical argument via the PU(2)-monopole cobordism of Pidstrigach and Tyurin (dg-ga/9507004) and results of the first and third authors (dg-ga/9712005, dg-ga/9709022).

Noether-Lefschetz theory and the Yau-Zaslow conjecture

The Yau-Zaslow conjecture determines the reduced genus 0 Gromov-Witten invariants of K3 surfaces in terms of the Dedekind eta function. Classical intersections of curves in the moduli of K3 surfaces with Noether-Lefschetz divisors are related to 3-fold Gromov-Witten theory via the K3 invariants. Results by Borcherds and Kudla-Millson determine the classical intersections in terms of vector-valued modular forms.
